When the day winds down, this sofa gives you room to stretch out, share snacks, and settle in with a drink. Fold down the center console for cupholders, then flatten it for overnight guests.
When space matters, your furniture should keep things simple. This jackknife sofa folds flat in 3 quick steps without heavy mechanisms or separate cushions to stash. Lift the seat, pull it forward, and press down until it's flat. The padded backrest becomes part of a smooth sleeping surface, and there's open floor space below the frame for storing bedding or small totes.
When you need extra seating for dinner or evening cocktails, the fold-down center console has built-in cupholders so you and your guests won't have to set drinks on the floor where they can get kicked over. Once you're done and ready for bed, just flip up the console, fold your sofa flat, and throw your bedding on it. In the morning, just fold it back up and you're ready to relax again.
This sofa ships in manageable sections that fit through narrow RV doors, so you can bring it inside without scuffs or struggle. Once in place, bolt the hinges, tighten the included hardware, and you're ready to sit back. It's a lightweight, durable design made for smaller rigs and travelers who want to make every inch count. If you like this style but are tight on space, check out the 64" version in the same Great Lakes Grotto color (TP86KR).

Hi everyone. Steve here with etrailer. Today we're looking at our Thomas Payne RV Jackknife Sofa. It's a fold down sofa and this one measures 70 inches long overall, and this is what they call a Great Lakes Grotto color. Folks, I would call this more of like a dark gray, maybe even a light brown. It really kind of depends on the lighting as far as what it looks like.
I do want to give you a closeup from the top down so you can kind of see a little bit better hopefully of that color. Like I said, maybe a dark gray/brown. Very nice. The material here is a nice upholstery. Water's gonna bead off really easy.
You don't have to worry about stains, liquids and those kind of things. The only thing you'll have to worry about is popcorn and remote's getting lost, right So this is a nice padded material. And as you can see right here in the center, we got a nice built-in cup holder as well. We have one, two cup holders here, so very nice, that center one can come down, giving you some extra space as far as cups and those kind of things. And then whenever it's time to fold it down to the sofa, it really is pretty simple.
Now, normally this is bolted down in place already. Obviously I don't have it bolted down, but you would lift the bottom up and at the same time, you're gonna kind of push down on the back and that's gonna fold it down. Now again, I'm just gonna manipulate it here for your viewing pleasure today. Now I can lay down nice and flat and you can lay on it, very comfortable. And then as far as a measurement, when I head it all the way down like this, keep in mind it's got some give to it.
I got roughly 41 and a half inches wide, so that's the width I got. Should be big enough for an adult to sleep on, maybe a couple kids, those kind of things. So again, this is a great option for you. The brackets are a heavy duty steel. They are powdercoated black, so you shouldn't have to worry about rust, corrosion, anything like that. I do wanna try to spin it a little bit here if I can, give you a better view of those brackets. As you can see, again, that nice sturdy steel bracket, there are two bolts that come in the backside of the feet underneath, they're protruding out. You'll put two nuts on it. And then back here at the back, same thing, two nuts. That's all included for you. Again, you just have the brackets, there's no cross beam across the center or anything like that. Lemme spin this back. Again, there's no cross beam from side to side or anything like that. You could potentially purchase something like that and weld up something custom yourself. It's totally up to you. These are pretty much just a replacement, so you wanna match up with what you most likely already have in your camper. Here's a couple photos from some of our customers, our neighbors, and they sent in what they've done with them. The top left there, I believe they built a custom box. It looks like they got some speakers, a stair system and some storage boxes underneath that one. And then on the bottom right, you can see the bottom, kind of the foot guard there on that slide out, you can see it's a little bit wider. So they replaced a shorter version of a Jackknife Sofa in that particular instance. But again, in both cases, you have a box of some sort, a platform of some sort already there that these would then bolt to. So from the top down, you can't see it there. Even if I flip it over, you can't see too good, but there's holes in the bottom of this bracket so you're gonna be able to screw in straight down on the brackets themselves. And that's how you're going to mount this in place inside your camper or RV. Folks, that will wrap it up for our quick look together. I'm Steven with etrailer.
