Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look together at this Thomas Payne Universal Leg Kit. Now this universal leg kit is going to let you add a Thomas Payne RV jackknife sofa in an RV or camper. This is designed for RVs that don't actually have a preexisting platform or frame. And lemme go ahead and try to give you some measurements just so you have a good idea of the size of this kit.
So I'm gonna retrieve my tape measure here, and I'm gonna begin with the height first. So measuring from the surface that it's going to be on to right inside of this bracket here. Lemme see if I can show that to you. We're sitting pretty close to 11.5 inches tall. And then looking at the overall depth, lemme see if I can bring this into frame here and kind of line that up there for you.
So I'm just going to be measuring from inside of the outside hole to inside of the outside hole if that makes sense, those two holes on the exterior. Let's see if I can line that up there for you. So we're sitting right at about 19 3/4 inches deep. And then the width, try not to drop this here. Looks like we're right at an inch.
So hopefully those measurements will be helpful for you. These are constructed, durable, black powder coated steel. So not only are they gonna be strong and durable, but that finish is going to help resist scratches and rust and possible corrosion. The hardware is included as you can see right there. I've got them loosely preassembled there.

The package was missing a nut and bolt (3 out of 4 included) and the bolts and nut which were included were loose in the box which resulted in a few scratches on the legs. The legs themselves were nut wrapped at all but did fit snuggly in the box.
The product fit the sofa fine. This was replacing 2 recliners in a 5th wheel. Contacted etrailer and in theory the additional bolt is on the way but have yet to receive by Sunday so replaced with a similar bolt and nylon lock nut from the local hardware store.
These fit my Thomas Payne jack knife couch perfectly. In 20 minutes I had my couch installed. Great product.
All good quality. Problem I had was that leg kit made seat bottom too high. Since my couch sits on a slide-out which is an elevated about 4 in from floor of rest of motorhome. Had to shorten legs by 4in luckily I can weld. Need to be taken into consideration when people order the leg extensions.
I received the parts which were shipped very quickly and I appreciate that. My RV sofa bed doesn't have a tag and I thought this was a universal fit but I had to grind one edge from each to make it work. The quality was good but I recommend leaving the word universal out of the advertisement. It works well so I will use your website in the future.

The couch has been a god send. We have been living in our trailer for 6 months while we build our house. I am still sleeping on the jack knife couch which has been very comfortable. It is holding up perfectly.
