Solera RV Awning - LC23FR

Highlights

  • Keeps Rain and Debris Out: Covers the slide-out roof to stop water, leaves, and dirt from entering or damaging seals.
  • Extends and Retracts Automatically: Moves with the slide-out every time, so protection is always in place.
  • Helps Keep the Interior Cooler: Blocks direct sunlight from hitting the slide-out, reducing heat inside.
  • Built to Last Through Weather: 13.5-oz heavy-duty vinyl with heat-welded seams resists leaks and won’t crack down to -25°F.
  • Simple Two-Person Install: Mounts with included brackets, hardware, and awning rail using self-tapping screws.
  • Sized for Proper Coverage: Fits slide-outs 55"–60" wide with 48" extension; requires 7" clearance on each side.

Features to know about

Keeps the Slide-Out Clean and Dry: Automatically Extends with the Room

This Solera RV Slide-Out Awning protects the top of your slide-out from leaves, twigs, and pooling rainwater. It extends and retracts automatically with your slide, so you don’t have to climb up and clear debris before bringing the room in. By keeping moisture and buildup off the seals, it helps prevent leaks, mildew, and long-term water damage.

Built Tough for the Elements: 13.5-oz Vinyl Fabric with Heat-Welded Seams

The heavy-duty, 13.5-oz vinyl fabric holds up to harsh weather and years of use. It won’t crack even in freezing temperatures down to -25°F. The seams are heat-welded instead of stitched, so rain can’t seep through. That means you get reliable protection without worrying about the fabric stiffening or leaking over time.

Sized Right for 55"–60" Slide-Outs: 48" Extension for Full Coverage

This topper is made to fit slide-outs measuring 55" to 60" wide with a 48" projection. The awning rail measures 127" long, and the fabric extends 127" wide by 48" long when fully deployed. It needs at least 7" of clearance on both sides—or 14" total between two slide-outs—to mount properly. If your space is tight, you can go down one size and still get plenty of coverage.

Easy DIY Setup: Complete Kit with Brackets, Hardware, and Awning Rail

Everything you need is in the box—brackets, hardware, and awning rail included. The roller tube and fabric come pre-assembled for simpler installation. The awning rail mounts up to 5" above the slide box trim, and the access brackets slide easily onto the included access plate. Most owners install it themselves with a helper in just a few hours.

Matches Modern RVs: Sleek Black Fabric and Hardware

The black vinyl fabric pairs with matching black hardware for a clean, modern look that blends well with today’s RV styles. It adds a finished touch while quietly doing its job—keeping your slide-out protected and your setup looking sharp.

The slide-out awnings were easy to install. One issue I encountered was with one of the set screws. There was excess paint in the threaded hole. I cleaned the threads with a tap and it worked fine.

I have been using my slide awnings for a year now without any issues. I dont have to worry about sticks and pine cones getting on top of my slide outs. It keeps me from having to climb on top of the RV. I highly recommend these to everyone I see.

I received the 121" awning a few months in delay, but this was not etrailer's fault. They kept in constant contact with me and I appreciate that. The awning came on an 18 wheeler and the extruded channel had been bent slightly, but easily fixable. The hardware pack was good and wrapped up nicely. Overall, a great purchase and easy to install like 2 hours with a friend. Watch the video for the installation tips it's very helpful. Definitely worth it!

It looks like you nailed it with the install! I'm in "aw"ning, haha. Do you have any install tips you learned when you put on the awning?

@BrookeM Have two tall ladders a good friend and a 12 pack of your favorite beverage. Also, make sure you have square bits for the hardware. It's not sent with #2 Phillips screws. Other than that, a straight forward install! Watch the video...helps a ton!

The solera slide toppers are the best! Mounting is very easy, just make sure to have two people with you. I did a 67" myself, but it was difficult feeding it into the track.

Glad you like it! And having more than one person is definitely a good idea. These things get pretty long and awkward. What did you install this on?

by:
Product is as expected. The product was received with scratches on the metal mounting brackets. This is disappointing since the brackets are 100% visible. I will try some wax to hide or diminish unsightliness. Improved packaging suggested. Directions for install were acceptable and there were online resources.

Purchased this for our new 2025 Winnebego 2108DB trailer as a self install. Installation was very easy, easy enough I could install it almost completely without help. I did need a helper when fitting the roller into the brackets. Included instructions were clear and easy to follow. Since this is a new install, I can't comment on the durability of this accessory, but time will tell, it looks like it's of good quality.

After a year of use, the slide topper awning still looks and works great. Youd never know it wasnt a factory install. So far, no signs the Arizona sun is deteriorating the fabric, although I try to treat it with 303 Protectant, and keep the trailer covered when not in use. Still very happy with my purchase.

Perfect addition to our 2025 Lance Squire 1995. Took less than an hour for me to prep and mount the brackets and less than an hour for my son and I to mount the awning and clean up.

Fairly simple to install if you have a decent amount of handyman skills. Instructions could be better. Love how they turned out. Little insurance for my slide outs. Hope they last.

Delivery went well, slight damage to tube, contents were fine. Install was pretty simple, following video from etrailer. Very pleased with quality of topper n look of it on our Camper which is a 2021 Keystone Passport. I've ordered a few things from etrailer n haven't ever had an issue.

Couldnt be happier with slide out topper. Keeping waterdebri off slide out, protecting seal which was the goal. Not one issue with item, working great after 1 yr n probably for years to come.

Looks great, Joel!

Only complaint is the shipping tube lost one metal end and other end was all bent up. Need better ends for shipping tube. By this the awning end paint was scratched up! Lucky I didn’t lose any parts on the opened end of tube!
by:
I went camping to find in the morning that our slide topper had come apart in the middle. We have only a few trips out with it. This is clearly a part that was not glued properly or the glue failed and allowed the material to slide out in the middle. Really disappointed!
by:
Worst customer service ever. It took 6 different people to correct etrailer’s mistake even having to explain over and over their own part numbers they managed to get it wrong, they shipped me multiple different parts that were incorrect parts over and over. I finally order the proper parts from a different vendor who got it right the very first time. You will later be inundated with dozens of requests to “tell us how we did” well, etrailer did a crap job and are over priced too. They never stop harassing you to do reviews either
by:
I have been completely satisfied with the support I receive from etrailer. I always get online to browse the catalog for what I need and then call Will to verify what I intend to order. He expertly walks me through the pros and cons of what I am getting and how that affects my needs. I am always pleasantly surprised by the variety and volume of parts and equipment that is available for anything from my equipment trailers to my camper.

Excellent Customer Service…Excellent product
by:
The awning design is poor and does not work as indicated. The fabric is weak and Water builds up in a pool causing unnecessary weight on the slide out. Would definitely would not buy again!
by:
While we love the slide out on our travel trailer, that is nothing but a potential problem. Leaves and debris lay on top and eventually prevent a good seal when closed, water pooling and potential leaking...and the list goes on.

We made the decision to buy and self install the Solera Slide Topper. The topper arrived in a large, well packed cardboard tube. All parts were present. It took my wife and I about 1:45 minutes to complete the installation. We are super pleased with how it turned out and have no complaints at all. Once again...eTrailer to the rescue!

I will note a couple of things that buyers/installers need to be aware of. While none of these are a deal breaker...knowledge is power. Some of the hardware (screws) are not painted black. After installation, I took a can of black spray paint and sprayed a little in a paper cup and used a Q-tip to apply the paint to the unpainted heads. The other thing is the tension. Wow...that is one strong spring! I found that the tension was so tight that it actually prevented the top of the slide out from fully extending. I knew this because before installing it I actually felt how tight the inside seal was against the interior wall when the slide was out. After the install I could easily slip my fingers between the inside trailer wall and the slideout seal. I ended up unwinding the spring by two full turns. After that, the slideout seal was firm against the interior wall! Yea! The awning itself was still very taunt and without sag.

A word of caution about removing the spring keeper pin or unwinding the arm. Make sure you FULLY understand what you are doing. That is NOT something you want to mess up on. While we had no problems in doing this...I am familiar with spring loaded rotational forces and understand the instant damage they can do!

Very pleased...and would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for an inexpensive way to cover and protect your slide out!

Our slide-out awning is still functioning perfectly. Since I had loosened the tension a bit I was concerned about it maintaining good tension over time. No problem. Still perfect! There is no noted degradation of the canopy or hardware. Thanks!

by:
A friend and I installed this topper today on a Winnebago 2101DS travel trailer. It took a little over one hour and we didn't run into any real problems. One thing the instructions said to do was to mount the hex aluminum bar in the end bracket using a self tapping 1/4-20 screw. Seemed almost impossible to do so I used a 1/4-20 tap. Worked fine.
Once the slide topper is squared away and goes in and out properly the paper instructions want you to install a black self tapping screw in the fabric slot within 1" of the end of the fabric. I didn't like the idea of running the screw through the fabric. I had some black tubing from another project which I used for the block to keep the slide fabric from moving.
The topper seems to be high quality and certainly will provide additional protection from the elements. This is definitely a two man job and my friend was great help. When we were sliding the fabric into the slide topper rail we found the best way was for me to be on the roof supporting the topper while my friend guided the fabric into the rail slot.

I assume it has been working well but I dont know since we traded the trailer for a larger one last April.

After searching the internet and checking reviews I chose etrailer for my slide out awning. I have shopped at Camping World who had the same awning but a lower price. After contacting etrailer with their price match I got the awning plus a few dollars less shipped to my door! Communications were excellent!
The installation was straight forward with ample instructions. The mounting brackets for the slide out has two positions, an upper and lower to provide clearance between the roll and top of the slide out. I used the upper. Hardware was great quality. There is ample adjustments in the brackets side to side if needed. My trailer a 2020 Aspen Trail 2750BH has the “C” rail as part of the gutter so I didn’t need to install the one provided with the awning! My wife and I installed the awning with two ladders and did not have any problems. Make sure and use the silicone spray as it really makes the awning easy to slide thru the C channel. We are happy with our purchase and will definitely use etrailer for our needs! Thank you for a quality product!
