Video Transcript for The Low-Down on the Valterra High Flow RV Water Pressure Regulator

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Velterra High Flow Water Regulator for RV's. This is going to protect your RV's plumbing against high pressure. It regulates incoming water pressure to 50 to 55 PSI. It does not reduce pressure when the inlet pressure is below 55 PSI, so please keep that in mind. This regulator also allows for 15 to 20 percent more flow, and more flow means better showers. It does conform with federal and state laws for drinking water fixtures.

It's going to include the screen washer to help keep out dirt and debris. It's made from a lead-free brass construction, and it's designed to fit all standard water hose and campground water risers. It's going to include the gripper right here for easy installation onto the faucet. No tools required. Taking a look at the overall length, measuring from edge to edge, we can see that the unit's going to measure about 3 inches long.

That's going to do it for today's look at the Velterra High Flow Water Regulator for RV's.

  • What is Flow Rating of Valterra High Flow RV Water Pressure Regulator
Hey John, the Valterra High Flow RV Water Pressure Regulator part # A01-1122VP that you referenced is high flow rated and is also rated for 50 to 55 psi.

  • What Could Cause RV Water Regulator to Lose Pressure Over Time
It's possible the regulator has gone bad over time or has gotten clogged. More likely it's gotten clogged if the pressure has been greatly reduced. The Valterra brand is a solid brand though. I wouldn't think twice about ordering a new one like # A01-1122VP or a JR regulator like the # 37204-62425 that you referenced.

  • What Are the Differences Between the JR and Valterra Water Pressure Regulators
The different water pressure regulators has to do with the construction of the material (brass/stainless steel), pressure range (40-50 psi/50-55 psi etc.), and additional features such as the inclusion of a gauge or built-in bend. I am not sure exactly what two products you are referring to as we offer several from each brand but they will both work to reduce the water pressure entering the trailer. I have attached a list of options for you. The difference in price has to do with the reasons...

  • What is Recommended Max Water Pressure for a Rockwood Mini Lite 2109S
The max water pressure that most Rv/trailers can handle is 55 psi. This isn't a hard and fast rule but it is a general rule of thumb since most of them use the same type of fittings. If you were to use the Valterra High Flow Water Regulator # A01-1122VP then you should be good to go as it regulates the incoming water pressure to 50-55 psi.

  • RV Water Filter and Regulator
Our water filters like # CAM40631 need to be used after the water goes through a regulator and is reduced to 60 psi or less. For a water regulator you can use # A01-1122VP which will keep the pressure at 50 to 55 psi.

  • Adjustable Water Pressure Recommendation for RV to Increase Water Pressure
We do offer an adjustable water pressure regulator, part # A01-1117VP, that includes a gauge to display the outgoing water pressure. Output water pressure is adjustable from 0 to 160 psi. I'd recommend using this to incrementally increase your water pressure till you get it where you want without going overboard. Increasing the pressure slightly would not be a problem.

  • Where Does the Water Regulator Get Installed On a Camper
The Valterra High Flow Water Regulator part # A01-1122VP will need to be installed on the city water inlet, on the exterior of the camper. This would be the only location that could protect the plumbing inside your camper. That said, I recommend you go with the Valterra Water Regulator and Pressure Gauge part # A01-1124VP which has an easy to read gauge instead.

  • How Is Debris In Water Trapped By Water Regulator For RVs
A water regulator like part # A01-1122VP has a small filter that catches most of the debris you may have in the water. I have attached a photo of the regulator that shows the small screen. After the water pressure is reduced you can use the filter like part # CAM40631 that will clean up the balance of debris like aluminum, bacteria, bad taste, cadmium, chlorine, fungus, heavy metals, hydrogen sulfide, iron, lead, mercury, mold, odor, cloudiness, and sediment.

  • Availability of Adjustable Water Pressure Regulator
We do offer an adjustable water pressure regulator, part # A01-1117VP, that includes a gauge to display the outgoing water pressure. Output water pressure is adjustable from 0 to 160 psi.
