Leaking skylight or unfinished interior? This kit replaces both the roof skylight and interior garnish in one step. It seals out water, softens incoming light, and covers rough edges for a tidy, finished look inside your RV.
When a skylight starts leaking or the interior trim looks worn, replacing just one piece can leave gaps in coverage or mismatched parts. This kit includes both the exterior skylight and interior garnish, so you can handle the full replacement at once. The skylight seals the roof opening, while the garnish finishes the ceiling from the inside for a complete, matched install.
When your RV skylight cracks and starts leaking during a storm or you notice water stains forming around the opening, the repair becomes urgent because water doesn't wait. This replacement comes with polycarbonate-safe sealant for installation, so you can apply a continuous seal on the roof surface and finish with a watertight barrier over the flange and fasteners. Once it's installed correctly, you're not chasing drips or watching water work its way into the roof.
A big part of replacing a skylight is confirming the opening size when the old unit doesn't provide clear measurements. Both the skylight and garnish are built for a 14" x 14" cutout, with outer flange dimensions of 17-1/2" x 17-1/2" on the skylight and 16" x 16" on the garnish. That gives you the key measurements before removing the old unit so you're not stuck mid-project with the wrong size.
Replacing only the skylight can leave exposed foam and wood visible from the inside. The included garnish installs on the ceiling to cover those rough edges and create a finished look. Its white construction diffuses incoming light from the smoke skylight, helping reduce glare while still allowing natural light into the space. You get a tidy interior with more comfortable light inside your RV.
Sun-baked plastic is usually what sends people shopping for another skylight in the first place. Both the skylight and garnish use UV-resistant polycarbonate that stands up to sun exposure without cracking or discoloring. Over time, that gives you components that keep their shape and appearance instead of turning brittle and worn after living on the roof.
Get a waterproof install using the included sealant approved for use with polycarbonate plastic. Remove the old skylight, then clean and prep the roof surface so it's dry and debris-free. For added sealing, apply butyl tape (sold separately) along the skylight flange before setting it in place. Secure it with 1" zinc or stainless steel screws (not included), then seal over the flange edges and fasteners with the included sealant. Install the garnish from the inside using 1" screws (not included) to complete the setup. If you need additional hardware or sealant, an install kit is available separately (SR76RR). Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we can take a look at this Specialty Recreation 14 inch by 14 inch Replacement RV Skylight Kit in the Smoke Color with the White Inner Garnish. Now, replacing your skylight should not be a regular job. This one here is built to resist sun damage and last for years. It'll keep your RV protected from leaks and exposure.
Now this one is a complete kit. As you notice, it includes the outer smoke skylight. And also the white inner garnish for a nice, complete repair inside and out. These are made with a UV resistant polycarbonate. It'll hold up against sun without cracking or discoloring.
The outer skylight is a smoke polycarbonate outer skylight. You can see, if I put my hand behind it, it's pretty hard to see. But it'll soften the light for a nice, comfortable interior. And then this white inner garnish will give your interior a nice, seamless look. The exterior skylight is designed to fit the standard 14 inch by 14 inch cutout.
Now you can see it does come, it's sized with a flange on it, so it gives you an 18 and a half by 18 and a half measurement. And when it's installed, the bubble height is approximately about three and a half inches tall. Now once installed, it sits flush against the roof, sealing securely when you paired it with this included self-level sealant. Now it will require small screws. If you notice, to have the screw holes all the way around all four edges.
The small screws are used for installation. Now, the screws are not included. The distance between the screw holes is about three inches. So what you'll do when you install is you put some self-leveling sealant down. Use your small screws and tighten it into place. It is a rigid design. It stays put. There's no warping or lifting between the screws after installation. Now this kit is a smoke outer with a white enter. We do also sell this kit with a white outer and a white inner. That goes by a part number of SR29RR. But that's gonna do it for a look at this Specialty Recreation 14 inch by 14 inch Replacement RV Skylight Kit in the Smoke Color with the White Inner Garnish.
