Today we'll be taking a look at the Camco RV Adjustable Screen Door Cross Bar in black, part number CAM42183. Also available in white, part number CAM42186. Help keep your kids or your old college buddies from pushing on your screen with the Camco RV Aluminum Cross Bar. It's adjustable to fit a wide variety of screen doors, or wherever else you decide to put it. The bar adjusts from 20 and and a quarter inches up to 28 inches long. It comes with all the hardware you need to install it.
As you can see, it's the most solid thing about this screen door. Now that we've gone over some of the specs, I'll go ahead and show you how to get it installed. You'll need to find the best spot on your screen, or wherever you'd like to mount it. I'm going to mount mine right here so it doesn't block any of my view and I'm going to line up my mounts right with the top portion of my screen. Once we get it set up where we want it to go, we can go ahead and grab a marker and mark our holes. Now the next thing I'll go ahead and do is measure the distance between our two brackets here.
Looks like we've got exactly 13 and three-quarters of an inch. Now that we've go our holes marked and our post measured, we can go ahead and take it off and we're going to drill out our holes. Now, I'm using an eighth-inch drill bit here. We want to make sure when we're drilling it out that we don't go all the way through. We're just setting a guide for our screws to make it easier to put them in. Now I'm going to grab my handle and I'm going to measure out 13 and three-quarters, as we did before. All right, that looks pretty good.
Then, I'm going to grab my Magic Marker. Then I'll grab my drill and we'll drill out those holes. We're going to make sure not to go all the way through the bar. Once again, we're just trying to set a guide for our screws. So we can actually just take these off and get them out of the way and make our holes.
Then, we need to replace our ends and run our included hardware in. We'll line our handle back up and we'll run our hardware through. That's going to complete our look and install of the Camco RV Adjustable Screen Door Cross Bar in black. Part number CAM42183.
