Video Transcript for The Low-Down on the Alpha Systems QTDG Tape for RV Weatherproofing

Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the Alpha Systems Trim Grade QTDG Tape.Now, this does look a lot like Butyl tape, but it is subtly different. This is a malleable tape that's going to create a nice watertight seal around your doors, windows, trim pieces on your RV.This adheres to just about any surface, metal, fiberglass, wood, plastic, glass, painted surfaces. Just about anything that has got a clean and dry surface, this will adhere to.It is a non-drying compound that is formulated to trim easily from molded surfaces without the use of a blade, so it's going to be great for around your fender skirt or sidewall, where using a sharp blade for trimming could potentially damage that area. So anywhere that you're needing to adhere your trim or something like that, without having to put a knife there to trim it off, this is going to be a great option for you.This material is very stable.

Once you have it compressed between your two surfaces, it's not going to expand or contract with temperature change, so it's going to do a good job for you.Now, we do have several different size options of this QTDG tape. This one here is right at 1 inch wide by about 3/16ths of an inch thick. You're going to get 20 feet of tape here with this roll. So depending on your size of your application, how much tape you're going to need, you might need something that's a little thicker or thinner or wider, depending on your application. So if this is not going to meet your needs, I'd encourage you to look at some of those other options.But as far as getting this applied, it's going to be very easy. You basically just press the tape on to one surface, remove the paper backing here, and then adhere that to the second surface, and then you can easily just trim off the excess tape, even with your fingernail, if need be. So any soft tool that won't mar the surface that you're adhering this to would be great to trim off any excess.You can see this is a dark gray color, so it's going to work well for your dark applications. It is made here in the U.S.A, so you can trust it's made to the high quality standards that we've come to know and trust for products that are made here in the U.S.And it does come with a one year limited warranty, so if you we're to have any problems within that first year, you could give us a call.
