Adco RV Tire and Wheel Covers

Worried about the tires on your fifth wheel dry rotting in the intense desert sun during a long camping trip? Or perhaps you're storing a boat trailer in the northeast, and you're concerned about your wheels rusting after a series of snowstorms? These durable covers protect the tire-and-wheel assemblies from dust, dirt, and the elements while your RV, camper, or trailer is parked or stored for an extended period of time. By keeping your tires covered, it'll prevent the sidewall from prematurely cracking and causing a blowout on the highway. This will extend the life of your tires, so you won't have to unexpectedly budget in a costly tire replacement.

This heavy-duty vinyl material is water repellent and UV repellent, so it'll hold up against rain showers, snow flurries, and heat waves during storage. The covers are reinforced with double-needle stitching and overlapping seams for extra durability, so it won't rip easily. And the material is easy to wipe clean before putting it away at the start of the camping season.

Securing the Covers onto Your Tire-and-Wheel Assemblies

Adco RV Tire and Wheel Covers Bungee Cords

These covers are quick and easy to install. If you have larger tire-and-wheel assemblies, it's recommended to lay the covers in the sun for a few minutes. This will let the material expand slightly, so it'll fit over your tires more easily. Once the covers are in place on your tires, thread bungee cords through the built-in grommets on the back and pull tight to remove any excess slack in the material. These bungee cords prevent the covers from flapping in the wind, and the soft interior lining won't damage your wheels' paint job.

  • Recommended Cover for 215/75R17.5 Trailer Tires
The outer diameter of your 215/75R17.5 tires is 30.19 inches. We will just need to find a cover that will accommodate this dimension. I recommend looking at the Adco Ultra Tyre Gard RV Wheel Covers # 290-3952. This cover is designed to fit 30-32 inch tire diameters and will work great for your trailer tires. This will include 2 covers so you will just want to order two. I have attached a demonstration video on this product as well as a link that will take you to our available selection...

  • Recommended Maintenance for 2003 Alpenlite 5th Wheel Trailer
Your Dexter NevRLube bearings will save you some of the mess of annual trailer maintenance but there are still other parts of your Alpenlite that require/deserve your attention for both safety reasons and to ensure you have as much hassle-free fun as possible when on the road. First and foremost are your tires. UV rays can really do a number on rubber and other materials in your RV. Your tires will last longer if you can protect them from the sun as much as possible. • Recommended Cover for 215/85-16 Tires
If you have a 215/85-16 tire then this is going to have an overall diameter of 30.4" so you are going to want to use a cover for a 31" tire. I really like the Adco and Classic Accessories covers as they have a longer warranty period than most other options and both companies strictly specialize in covers. I have attached some options below as well as a list of all our tire covers for 31" tires. • Recommended RV Tire Covers For An LT245/75R16 Tire Size
An LT245/75R16 tire has an overall diameter of 30.47" and section width of 9.65" so the Classic Accessories RV Tire Covers # 052963762501 would be a bit too small. Instead you'll need the Adco Ultra Tyre Gard RV Tire Covers for 30" to 32" Tires # 290-3952.

  • Recommended Wheel Covers for RV with 2285/75-169 Tires
The 225/75-16 tires on your RV have an overall diameter of 29.3" so tire covers for 30" tires are what you will want to use. The Adco Ultra Tyre Gard RV Wheel Covers part # 290-3952 for white or part # 290-3972 for black are what I recommend. The Adco Ultra Tyre Gard RV Wheel Covers are made of a thick and durable fabric so you know they will last which is also exemplified by the three year manufacture's warranty. The Adco Ultra Tyre Gard RV Wheel Covers also have a soft inner lining to...

  • Benefits of Switching to Trailer Tires with Higher Load Range and Speed Ratings
Excellent question. There is no disadvantage to using a special trailer tire with a higher weight Load Range Rating than is required by your trailer's weight. Doing so simply means that those higher-rated tires will tend to run cooler, since they will be operated below maximum capacity, and this is always a good thing with any tire. Heat is the worst enemy of a tire and the two conditions that typically lead to excess heat build-up are overloading beyond rated weight capacity and operating...

  • Recommended Tire Storage Covers for 215/75-17.5 Tire Size
Your 215/75-17.5 are just over 30 inches in diameter. For tire storage covers, I'd recommend the Adco Tyre Gards, part # 290-3952, which includes 2 covers. For a tandem axle 5th wheel, you'd need two sets. If you click the provided link, you can see a product demonstration video featuring the Tyre Gards.

For the LT215/85R16 size tires on your RV, I recommend the Adco Ultra Tyre Gard RV Wheel Covers - White # 290-3952. These covers are perfect for tires that have a diameter of 30-32 inches (yours have a diameter of just over 30 inches) and they feature overlapping seams and double-needle stitching to ensure durability. • Can 235/80R16 Tires be Used with 235/85R16 Tires on the Same Trailer
Although they are similar in width, the 235/85R16 size tires are going to be almost an entire inch larger in diameter than the 235/80R16 size tires. This means that your trailer won't be completely level while you are towing and your tires won't wear evenly not to mention what could happen to your suspension over time. I recommend replacing the tires on your flatbed trailer as well as your camper. For the 235/85R16 we have a load range F part # AM10501 load range E with a load capacity...

  • Wheel Cover for Rear Dual Wheels on Class C Motorhome
Using wheel covers is a good idea when your motorhome is in storage or sitting in the sun for an extended period of time. Single wheel covers fit over the outside wheel but they don't fit over the inside wheel due to the wheels being bolted together on the axle, so the wheel covers won't completely cover the inside wheel. Adco # 290-3952 is a great option to consider because it's white color won't absorb light like darker colors. Class C motorhomes usually have an overall tire diameter...

Although you may be new to the world of RVs you are already making wise decisions. It is a very sensible investment to use protective tire covers on your 24-foot Thor Quantum Class C motor home. Your tires of size LT225/75R16 will last longer if protected from the harsh UV rays that will otherwise beat down on them all year long. Tires in size LT225/75R16 have an overall diameter of about 29-1/4-inches so I recommend using covers that will fit a 30-inch tire. A little slack makes installation...

  • Is There A Benefit To Going With A Higher Load Range Tire Than Your Trailer Requires
Yes, the higher rated load range is going to have a higher capacity, which means that there will be less wear and tear on the tires. The higher the strain on the tires the more heat builds up and heat is the biggest enemy of tires. Since the tires would be overrated for the load they wouldn't have as much strain and would run cooler, ultimately giving your tires a longer lifespan. Along with that you'll also want to use tire covers like Adco's # 290-3952 to help protect the sidewalls...

Your 8.75/16.5 size tires have a diameter of 30.85". This will help us determine what size wheel cover you need. It sounds like you either have a triple axle trailer with the rear axles closer or you have a dual axle with dual wheels on the rear axle. For the first setup I recommend using both the double axle cover # 290-3922 and the single axle cover # 290-3952.
