inverter

This 12V inverter, with built-in transfer switch, changes DC output from your RV batteries into AC power and sends it to the electrical system. Using pure sine wave technology, it creates clean power with low distortion, making it safe, efficient, and perfect for sensitive electronics like computers. The inverter can generate 2,000 starting watts and 1,000 running watts which is a great fit for appliances and electronics. Additionally, with the integrated transfer switch, it will automatically change from inverter to shore power when available.

Functions and Features

To connect your AC loads, the inverter includes hardwired 15-amp input cord and an output terminal. It also has positive and negative DC terminals that connect to your batteries. Lastly, there is a port for the included fixed-mount remote. The system includes a number of safety features. It has a reverse polarity protection that will protect the converter if the battery is hooked up incorrectly. Additionally, the unit includes protection for overvoltage, undervoltage, and overloading which can damage your equipment, as well as the converter. The built-in cooling fan also removes excess heat from the unit. The fan speed is proportional to the internal temperature on the converter, so when the power demand is low, the fan will operate quietly. For additional safety, installing a 200-amp fuse (sold separately) between the battery bank and the inverter will protect your equipment from power surges.

Built-In Transfer Switch Automatically Switches to Shore Power

The integrated transfer switch selects the primary source of 120V AC current. This switch has been pre-wired to automatically change from inverter to shore power to conserve battery life. It includes a 20-amp leg rated at 135V. Additionally, since the switch only accepts one active source, it protects your electrical system from dangerous backfeed that can damage your equipment.

Fixed-Mount Remote Provides Easy Monitoring and Control

inverter remote

The fixed-mount remote lets you monitor and control the inverter from inside your RV. It includes a digital display that shows voltage, output power, error codes, and a low battery indicator. It also has a power button to turn the inverter on and off.

How It Installs

The inverter mounts inside your RV in a dry location with ventilation. It should be installed close to the battery bank, but not in the same compartment.

inverter terminals

The DC terminals are wired to the battery bank.

There are several ways to connect the inverter to your RV's electrical system, but this will depend on your rig and how you want to use your inverter. If your RV's distribution panel only has one leg, a subpanel will be needed for installation. You will also need a 100-amp circuit breaker between the inverter and battery positive post. Two 20-amp circuit breakers will be needed to channel AC power from the main panel into the inverter and then out into the subpanel.

  • Will Progressive Dynamics 1000 Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter Shut Off When Connected to Shore Power
Hey Mike, thanks for reaching out! Yes, the Progressive Dynamics 1000 Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter # PD34FR will shut off when you connect to shore power. You should already have a separate transfer switch for your generator so that when you plug into shore power your RV gets shore power directly.

  • Replacement Inverter for Lithium Battery on a 2015 Jayco 1007UD Popup Trailer
Hey Dan, thanks for reaching out! Without knowing what your inverter is rated for I'm kind of flying in the dark here, but a solid starting point in a replacement inverter is the Progressive Dynamics 1000 Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter # PD34FR. You said you aren't able to find any markings or labels on your current inverter? Also, I think you're talking about a converter like the Progressive Dynamics 9300 # PD49RR as a converter is what charges your battery.

  • What Pure Sine Wave Inverter Is Needed
To calculate power consumption simply multiply wattage by the number of hours it is being used. Remember to consider type of current, AC or DC. The number of watts is equal to amps multiplied by volts. Your battery bank is rated in Amp Hours, AH. If you have a lithium chemistry battery you can use almost the entire charge before voltage drops below a usable range. If you have a battery bank that is lead acid chemistry, including those labeled as AGM or Gel, you can use at best half of...

  • Replacement Inverter for for WFCO 5110R in RV
I did some checking and your WFCO 5110R is a 1,000 watt pure sine wave inverter so the Progressive Dynamics Pure Sine Wave Inverter part # PD34FR that you referenced would be a great choice as it is also a 1,000 watt inverter plus it has a built in transfer switch.

  • Difference Between Pure Sine Wave Inverter w Transfer Switch PD34FR and PD1210NR
The Progressive Dynamics Pure Sine Wave Inverter w Transfer Switch and Cord - Remote - 1,000 Watts - 12V # PD34FR is the new replacement for the kit PD1210NR that you referenced. These are essentially the same, except the upgrade only has ports for the AC connections instead of GFCI for some AC connections. These use lugs for the DC connections instead of the ring terminals like what it sounds like you have. Personally I'd go with the newer part # PD34FR. Since it's newer it means that...

  • Can The Progressive Dynamics Inverter # PD34FR Be Hardwired Instead Of Plugging Into An Outlet
Technically you could cut the plug off of the power cord for the Progressive Dynamics 1000 Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter # PD34FR and hardwire it or you could get the hardwired version of this inverter with part # PD94FR and could use the correct length wire for the connection instead of having to splice more on.

  • Recommended Replacement for Airpax 12W8R3T Inverter
I looked up the Airpax 12W8R3T Inverter and show it has an 800 watt rating. Therefore, the Progressive Dynamics 1000 Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter part # PD34FR which is rated at 1,000 wats will be an excellent replacement for this. It should be more than enough to power most refrigerators but you might want to do some calculations beforehand just to be sure. The inverter needs to handle both the running and starting power requirements, if the starting requirements are not listed simply...

This inverter is also compatible with both lithium and lead acid batteries so there are no worries about having the upgraded battery bank. The manual also states that the inverter should only be installed by and electrician or certified RV technician.

  • Is The Progressive Dynamics PD34FR A Compatible Replacement For A WF-5100 Inverter
Looking at the manual for the WF-1500 it looks like it uses RJ11 connectors for the remote while the Progressive Dynamics 1000 Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter # PD34FR use an RJ22 connector. This will definitely be an equivalent swap but you'll have to run a new line instead of use the remote cable you already have in place.

  • Hooking Up a Hybrid Solar/Wind Controller to the Batteries with Progressive Dynamics # PD4060K?
I have an answer for you about a controller. While it is possible, we currently do not have any hybrid solar/wind controllers because those parts have been discontinued. With that being said, if you already have a solar/wind controller, you can use the Progressive Dynamics Mighty Mini AC/DC Panel and Converter/Smart Charger - 60 Amp # PD4060K. With this converter, the DC side of the panel would work great. With the AC side, however, this requires either AC shore power or an inverter...

  • Power Requirements of Everchill 120V 324-000118 RV Refrigerator
Everchill recommends using a pure sine wave inverter to ensure a clean and consistent power supply to the compressor of the # 324-000118 refrigerator. The refrigerator draws 2.5 amps which would convert to 300 running watts. Multiply that by 3 to get the necessary wattage for compressor start-up, which would be 900 watts. So, in order to power your refrigerator you'll need an absolute minimum of a 900 watt inverter. This assumes that the refrigerator is all you're wanting to power with...
