Video Transcript for Mighty Cord RV Generator Extension Cord Review

Hey everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at our mighty cord, 30 amp extension cord. So this is designed to be used with your twist lock style plugs on your RVs and going to be extending your current RV hookup cord. So if you find that you don't have enough length from your current cord to the RV hookup and you need about 25 more feet that's where this can come in handy. This is an extension cord for the three prong 30 amp style of a plug.

So that's going to be the type of prong you'll see on your twist lock plugs. We have 1, 2, 3 prongs, and that third prong has a little bit of a divot on the end. So this just connects into itself. That will help you figure out if this is gonna be the right fit for you and your current cord setup. So I'm gonna plug this into our RV even though it's designed for twist lock style RV cords it doesn't have the twist lock cap.

So it just goes straight in once you line those prongs up. Now we have our separate mighty cord, 30 amp RV plug and it's going to be your power cord. So you get your new extension cord plug that into the power cord. And now you've just added 25 feet to your setup. You're ready to connect this to your generator, your hookup, your campsite pedestal.

So 25 plus 25 means I now have 50 feet of thick cord and this can get heavy really quickly. If you're planning on needing to this set up a lot I recommend just checking out our 50 foot length, 30 amp cord options. That way it's all in one piece and you don't need to use extensions but if you're only using this every now and then if you have that one camp site that is just a little bit further away to hook up, then the others then that's where this extension cord can come in handy. Just make sure that it fits your actual plugs. But if you're looking for a heavy duty extension cord that you know will match the prong shape as well as the amperage supply of your current power cord and you can trust to carry that energy to your RV trailer at camper.

This was a look at the mighty cord 30 amp 25 foot long extension cord here at etrailer.com.

  • How To Attach a Generator To A Small Camper Trailer
It sounds like you have your generator mounted to the Stromberg Carlson Trailer Tray Cargo Carrier part # CC-255 in front of your trailer and you need to connect it to the power inlet on the rear of your trailer. If that is the case then I have a few different options for you depending on if your trailer has a 20 amp or 30 amp service and if your generator uses 3 prong or 4 prong connection. I have attached these options for you below. The power cords are all 25' long. 20 Amp with 3 Prongs...

  • Power Cord Recommendation for Connecting 1976 North Star Camper To Shore Power
The three most likely outlets you'll encounter at the campground power pedestal placed at each campsite is a 20 amp a 30 amp or a 50 amp with 30 and 50 amp being the most common. The most common inlet on a camper would be either a 30 or a 50 amp, depending on the size of the camper. I've tried doing research on your camper, and have mostly come up empty handed. Most campers will have a 30 amp inlet that uses a twist lock socket. If you need a 3 prong, use # A10-G30253E or # A10-G30254E...

  • Cord to Connect Generator Output to RV Power Inlet
To connect a generator's output to your camper's 30-amp power input you will need to ensure the two share the same connector. Part # A10-3025ED is indeed a 30-amp cord but we have products specifically made for connecting your RV inlet to your generator. 30-amp power cords are available in both 3-prong and 4-prong formats. Part # A10-G30253E has a 3-prong female twist-lock plug that connects to an RV's power inlet. The male twist-lock plug connects to your generator. For a 4-prong type...
