Hi, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, we have the Thule AirScreen XT, so this is gonna be a wind fairing for your Thule crossbars. We'll take a look at how to install it and how it works right here at etrailer.com. Wind fairings became super popular for the round and square crossbar market, especially the square bar, because of just how they're shaped, lots of noise when you go down the highway. Now, aero bars are a lot more popular, especially things like the Thule WingBar Evo, which is what we have up top on our vehicle. So we don't have as much wind noise, but for certain situations, maybe you have a cargo basket, maybe you have a bike on your roof, maybe you're carrying larger or bulkier items, you may want to decrease that wind noise, and that's where this will come in handy. I put a bulky thing on the roof, which is an entire bike with a bike rack and we have them on our aero bars.
Now, let's drive down the highway and listen to it. There's a little bit of wind noise from the bike, so we'll see if using a fairing will make a difference. So there really wasn't that much noise that I could notice, like I could hear a little whistle from the bike, but nothing too concerning, but I was also going about 60 miles per hour, and I just had a single bike up there. So if you have something bulkier, maybe a cargo basket, and you have more wind noise, you may want to install this fairing. So the fairing on a roof and the clip lined up to our crossbar, you get the strap, bring that over the crossbar, you're gonna push down while pressing on that clip, it's gonna be a tight fit.
So all the straps are secure, everything's lined up, we've got the rubber pads on the bottom. Well, now, we gotta take it for a drive. Now, while there was a little bit of a change, I don't think there was that big of a difference when it comes to wind noise that I could hear. Now, that could be different depending on what's on the roof and or what speeds we're going at, how much wind is coming down, things like that. So I do think that wind fairings we're very important when we had round and square crossbars as our only options.
Now, that we have aerodynamic bars though, not as big of a deal, they're solid, they're sturdy, and they don't make as much wind noise or have that much wind drag going down the road. Pretty much all of the other brands that have crossbars also have fairings for them as an option. This one, I do like the ratchet straps. They're a little tricky at first to get into and tighten down, but compared to clamps and things that have wing nuts, these are so much easier to use, kinda like the one that Inno has for their screen, you have to tighten that down with some knobs. Now, most of them have the rubber stoppers on the bottom that sit on your roof, I do like how this one is curved and designed to sit gently on your roof, create that grip and traction without sliding, but also, not scratching up your roof.
So if you are gonna get an air screen or a wind screen or a wind fairing for your roof rack, I personally don't think it's as big of a deal as it was with only round and square crossbar options. But amongst your wind fairing options, Thule has a very nice sleek design and very easy to install. Remember, you do have those different lengths, so make sure you get the right one for you. And that was a look at our Thule AirScreen XT Wind Fairing for your crossbars here at etrailer. My name is Evangeline and I hope you enjoyed the journey..

We have a Volvo XC 60 with the large roof window. When we traveled with our Thule roof box, we had a whistling noise coming from the roof window. After we installed the Thule AirScreen under the roof box, the whistle went away. There is still some wind noise, but a huge difference with the AirScreen. The AirScreen is easy to install and we are totally happy with the purchase. etrailer is a great place to shop!
Great product. Does what it's supposed to, the wind noise is significantly decreased and it looks great!
Joshua was fantastic!
Looks awesome and totally eliminated the sound caused by my Thule square bars
etrailer is great to deal with, never have issues..
It looks all right, thought it would be further forward. But my roof rack doesn't slide further forward than it is now. All of the parts were there and it assembled great. Overall mildly satisfied haven't driven with it yet.
The Thule Airscreen arrived a day earlier than I anticipated, which was awesome. Very smooth process. Installation was a snap (I recommend doing the first half inside on the kitchen counter or table, then moving to the garage/outdoors for the actual attachment to the vehicle). No tools are required, which made it easy. It looks great on the car -- and I opted for the "long" size (44") which I think looks better for our 2020 VW Golf than the smaller versions.
At the very last minute on beginning an 11 hour trip to Florida I needed a Thule windscreen. After checking with all local stores with no luck I decided to check with etrailer. Sure enough they had one in stock for me to pay 2 day delivery. The unit came right on time however it was missing two of the fasteners. After buying 2 screws and wing nuts I was on my way. Now the great part I received an email asking my opinion of the product. In mentioning the missing parts I received them overnight to my new address. Thank you etrailer!!!
Ordered this fairing and got it within a week! Outstanding service! Thule usually makes good stuff, and this is no different. Some assembly required, but not too hard. Installed it on the car, and it fit perfectly, and the adjustment was very easy. Took the car out on the highway and it worked perfectly. Also, it looks great. Don't hesitate.
This item is great. Reduces noise somewhat, looks great and I suppose reduces with wind-resistance for economy improvements.
This works very well on my 2019 JEEP Wrangler Unlimited. I use it when I have kayaks on the roof. It is mounted on the Thule rack system, at the "B" post.
Very easy to install, well worth the money.
Fast shipping just what I wanted.
I have this product on my Ram 1500 and Mazda CX-9. No issues with noise.
Second time ordering from them great communication, fast shipment
Simple assembly and light. Installed to reduce noise w/ square Thule bars...(eliminated whistle and hum greatly)
It’s nice but I could not keep it from whistling. Constant adjustments. Louder than w/out. Would not buy again.

I am very sorry to hear this JM, I am sure you have tried everything, but just in case, sometimes adjusting the angle of the fairing so the bottom rubber strip lightly touches the roof and lowering it as much as possible on the crossbars can help reduce or eliminate whistling. Even small adjustments can make a noticeable difference.
I put this on the Thule wing bar under a Thule roof box and drove 1000 miles on a ski trip. It cut the noise in half. At 75 mph into the wind is the worst case and still a bit loud so I also added a rope around the wing bar for maximum airflow disruption. I wouldn't change my choice to have the Jeep soft top one touch Skyroof so it's loud anyway. The Airscreen made the noise much less.
Ez to assemble. Looks & fits great on vehicle. Only concern is should include more of the sticker pads in case u have to relocate after tightening it down
