Video Transcript for Mount: Custom DK Fit Kit for 4 Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Roof Rack Legs on a 2017 Toyota Corolla

Today on our 2017 Toyota Corolla, we're going to be test fitting the Rhino-Rack Square Bar Roof Rack System, consisting of part numbers DS118B. This is the Rhino-Rack Square Bars along with the 2500 Series Roof Rack Legs and part number DK383, and this is the custom fit kit for the Corolla. The Rhino-Rack Square Bar Roof Rack System is great for carrying accessories on your roof while freeing up space for you and your family in your vehicle. While it does have a square bar design, you can purchase bearings 00:00:25 on the etrailer.com website. That will cut down wind noise and drag while you're driving. Both bars combined have a carrying capacity of 165 pounds, although always double check with your vehicle's manual to make sure it can withstand those weights. At the end, we have these two locking caps here.

Once you install it onto your roof, it's going to be secured to your roof as well. Now that we've gone over some of the features of the roof rack, let's go ahead and show you how it installs. We have our rear bar partially assembled on our table here. Our next step is going to be installing our leg here onto the other end. Take our bar, flip it upside down here and this is the track that we're going to slide our leg into. The top of our leg, we have this square plate here and that's what's going to slide into the end.

We'll flip it upside down and loosen up this bolt with our included tool. Then we'll wind it up and slide it in place. Next, we'll measure for space between the end here and our leg. Normally we'd have a strip that we place down here, cut it to length and it would stay there to keep the spacing. However for today's purposes, we'll just measure it out for demonstration. We'll tighten down our screw in the center.

We'll next install our fit kit which consists of the rubber footpad and the clamp. The rubber footpad isn't labeled and has an arrow on it, so make sure you're putting it in the proper placing. It also has these three points, they'll line up with our foot so we'll just push that into place. Next, we'll install our clamp. Start by completely taking out the screw here, insert a clamp and reinsert the screw loosely just to hold the clamp in place. Then we can install our bar onto our roof.

Measure it out with our front bar so you get the proper spread. That's going to be from center of the bar to center of the bar. You'll find this measurement in your instructions. With everything measured out now, we can snug up the clamps up to the vehicle. We'll do this on both sides, and then we'll go back and forth giving about five or six turns each time until the roof rack is completely tied to the vehicle. Something to mention about this tightening tool is you'll see how it's curved. As you're tightening it down, it will straighten out. Once it's completely straightened while you're tightening, you know that it's torqued 00:03:03 to its proper specification. Therefore, you don't over or under tighten. Here's our end caps for our bars, and you just push into place. Finally, we'll install our end cap locks to our legs. Now, we're ready to install our accessories and hit the road. There you have it for the Rhino-Rack Square Bar Roof Rack System on our 2017 Toyota Corolla.

  • Can I Transfer My Rhino Rack from My 2001 Honda Accord to My 2016 Toyota Corolla?
Hello Amanda, I do have some good news for you, 2 of the items will be able to swap over to the 2016 Toyota Corolla! The part that will not transfer over is the pads as they are the only part that is custom fit to the vehicle. I was able to look up your order when you purchased the rack and I see that it was for a 2001 Honda Accord which has a different shape roof than your Corolla. The only part you need to purchase is the Custom DK Fit Kit for 4 Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Roof Rack Legs...

  • Does Rhino-Rack HD Roof Rack for 2020 Toyota Corolla Sedan Have Static Load Rating
I checked with Rhino-Rack and they specifically mention they only have dynamic (moving) load ratings, and that is exactly what the 165 lb capacity is with the rack that fits your 2020 Toyota Corolla sedan. Rooftop tents generally only call for a rack to have a certain dynamic capacity so I recommend checking out your tent's manual to find out. As for the roof rack for your 2020 Toyota Corolla, here are the parts you need: - Rhino-Rack Heavy-Duty Roof Rack Crossbars # # RB1250B-2 (Black)...

  • Roof Rack and Cargo Box Recommendation for 2019 Toyota Corolla
For your 2019 Toyota Corolla I recommend the Rhino Rack roof rack part numbers # RRVA118B-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK383. I really like the Rhino Rack roof racks as they give you a higher quality roof rack but at a better price than the more expensive brands. Then for a smaller cargo box the Thule Force XT part # TH6356B would be a great job. It can hold up to 11 cubic feet is a confirmed fit and is very well made.

  • Fairing Recommendation for a 2016 Toyota Corolla with Rhino Rack Roof Rack
When picking out a fairing you want to go with a length that matches the width of the roof of the vehicle. Since your bars are 44 inches in width you would want to go with a 38 inch fairing # RRRF2 to allow a better match to your vehicle. The Rhino Rack Roof Rack components you have installed already are the # RRVA118B-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK383.

  • Roof Rack to Fit a 2017 Toyota Corolla to Carry a Kayak
You are correct, the Rhino-Rack roof rack that fits your 2017 Toyota Corolla consists of the 46 inch Vortex Aero crossbars # RRVA118B-2, Legs # RRRLKVA, and Fit Kit # DK383. I've linked the video to this page for you. To carry the kayak on the rack you might like the Swagman Contour, part # S65148. It holds up to a 100 pound kayak and includes tie-downs for the bow and stern. I also recommend adding Malone QuickLash hood loops, part # MPG308, to make the connections easier.

  • Recommended Roof Rack and Kayak Carrier for 2015 Toyota Corolla
The roof rack I recommend for a 2015 Toyota Corolla is the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbar System part # RRVA118B-2, part # RRRLKVA, and part # DK383. This is a great cost effective aero bar system that allows you to carry tons of accessories. If you're only looking for a single kayak carrier I recommend the Rhino-Rack J-Style Kayak Carrier part # S510. This carrier works great with aero crossbars and it comes with tie-downs as well. If you ever need to carry two kayaks you could just...

  • Roof Rack Recommendation for 2019 Toyota Corolla
The roof rack I recommend for your 2019 Toyota Corolla is the Rhino Rack part numbers # RRVA118B-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK383. What's really great about Rhino Rack roof racks is that you get the higher quality and great fit of the more expensive racks without as high of a price tag. For a fairing to help cut down on wind noise you'd then want the part # RRRF3.

  • Correct Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbar System for a 2017 Toyota Corolla

  • Recommended Roof Rack and Cargo Carrier for a 2018 Toyota Corolla
I recommend the Rhino-Rack aerodynamic Vortex roof rack system for your 2018 Toyota Corolla. The Curt # C11265 and Draw-Tite # 24913 trailer hitches that are designed to fit your 2014 Toyota Corolla are all Class I rated trailer hitches. Our manufacturers do not make hitches with higher class ratings to fit your vehicle. • Roof Rack, Kayak Carrier, and Ski Carrier Recommendation for a 2014 Toyota Corolla
First let's start with a roof rack for your leased 2014 Toyota Corolla. For that you would want the Rhino Rack roof rack that consists of the part numbers # RRVA118B-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK383. As long as you keep the roof of your vehicle clean while the rack is installed and take it off if you don't plan to use it for a while you would not have to worry about scratches or marks on your roof. For a ski rack you would need a different carrier, for that you would want the # RR572.
