Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the replacement Timberline Tower for Yakima cross bars. This unit replaces a damaged or lost Timberline Tower for your Yakima roof rack. The Timberline Tower lets you mount cross bars to your vehicles raised factory side rails. Now with this part number you get one Timber Tower. It's made from a durable construction with rubber coating at all contact points to prevent scratching and damaging to your roof rack or vehicle. The stainless steel strap right here is rubber coated, the top portion that makes contact with the cross bars is coated, and the underside that makes contact with the top of the raised side rails, that's coasted as well.The rubber coated steel strap secures around the raised factory side rail on your vehicle, very strong and durable design.
The end cap is included and you can see here it has the portion that can be removed. That way if you want to install a lock you can definitely do that.To remove the end cap, you push in on the ends here, pull. You have two main bolts in here. This one is what tightens the strap around your raised side rail, so the strap goes around our raised side rail, fits back into the housing, and then you tighten that down. Now the tool to do that is not included with the replacement Timberline Tower, that would come standard with your original kit.
Then you have a bolt located right here, which is designed to secure the tower to the cross bar.That's gonna do it for today's look at the replacement Timberline Tower for Yakima cross bars.

These Timberline mounts are replacing my Baseline mounts I used on a different vehicle. I was able to use my same bars with these mounts. Easy installation, but I have tried loading my Kayaks as of yet.
Installation of the hitch, wiring,rear bike rack, and new roof rack towers went well. I didn't set any speed records, but I was more concerned with doing no damage on a new 2019 Toyota Sienna AWD van. The hitch fit up well per instructions except that I was able to work around the exhaust without lowering it. Underbody panel and rear fascia did both need to be removed. Very happy with the end result. The new van is now set up to haul the bikes and canoes and move my log splitter.
I found that etrailer had the parts from Yakima racks that I needed and more importantly I was able to order them as they were on back order. The estimated time was the parts would be in stock on the 8th. I received an update from George that the parts had shipped shortly after the new in stock date. I purchased the TimberLine towers because they would adjust to go around the stake mount bars on my 2020 Silverado. I ow can mount my bike carriers above the bed cover.
Rack installed easily. Also purchased hitch and carrier from eTrailer. All arrived quickly. Alex J helped me out when my rack wasn't going to arrive on time for my trip. I'm a happy camper (literally).
Timely delivery of my order, as usual! Easy to install on my 2015 4Runner. I took one of the mounts and followed directions just to be sure then the other three went even quicker. I now have the ability to carry up to 3 kayaks, perfect! etrailer is a great company!

These mounts have a solid feel are pretty straight forward to install. Everything you need to install them comes in the package. Just don't lose the torque tool.
A couple items that keep me from giving this 5 stars: The number of turns required to set up the mounts are a little extreme. You really need to turn the strap screw 100 times before preparing to install. The mount screw release must be loosened properly or else the cross bar will not install easily. It would be nice if they told you this or mentioned it in the instructions.
Once started, installing the cross bar on the mounts took about 15 minutes. The mount was easy to install on my car's racks. I've only had the system mounted for a day so we'll see how they work under real use.
Durable products it looks nice and decent. Will travel from New mexico to washington state im not worried coz i trust etrailer
Instructions were clear and the fit is good. Solid product for my 4 Runner since the factory cross bars were way too low to attach anything without rubbing the roof badly.
I haven't noticed any noise from highway driving.
I’m using these towers in conjunction with the JetStream cross bars. Assembly and setup was easy, all the tools you need are provided, except perhaps a tape measure for mounting. Looks and feels solid and well made. This is my second set of Yakima towers and cross bars. I plan to use this setup for an old roof top hard shell case and for my mountain bike to get to the trail head.
After completing the installation I took it out for a spin to check for wind noise at highway speeds. No discernible noise, I’m very happy about that as I really don’t want to remove these when not needed. For reference these are mounted on a 2019 Subaru Forester Touring with factory raised rails. Plenty of clearance for attaching equipment and gear.
Side note: the gentleman that assisted me on the phone while ordering was very pleasant and helpful, got me the right products very quickly as I was in a time crunch. Two thumbs up!
Boy between Yakima products and etrailer’s customer service it’s a 10 start team. Product was installed by me with a little help from etrailer’s video And it fits great. Now awaiting the Yakima Kayak racks. And of course etrailer delivered it ahead of promised. Again great team to work with.

I had 2 get ripped off in a automatic car wash. These were the correct replacements. You will need to take the rubber fitting off the old ones to get a super snug fit.
