Video Transcript for Review of Brophy Pintle Hitch - Pintle Mounting Plate - BR76MJ

Hi everyone, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at our Brophy adjustable pintle hook mounting plate for a two-inch hitch with a nine-inch drop and a rating of 10,000 pounds. Now folks, this is gonna be easy to adjust. It's going to help you mount the pintle hitch height on your trailer, and you're gonna have three different positions to choose from. You got these two large pins here and a bunch of different holes to go up or down. One thing to note from the beginning, this is only to be used in the drop position only.

It's even got a sticker to tell you that. This is made of a nice high-strength steel. It's corrosion-resistant with its nice black powder coat finish over everything. It's a standard 5/8 inch hitch pin hole. You will need a hitch pin and clip, sold separately if you don't already have one, along with your lunette ring or pintle hitch coupler, however you have the need for on your particular needs on the front here, and that's all sold separately.

Make sure you're getting grade A bolts, grade eight bolts, rather, for the strength and durability. Now adjust, this is pretty simple. Pull the retaining pins here off of the larger pins. And then very carefully while you're holding everything, you can then lower this down or raise it up. But again, you've only got three adjustments on this particular hitch.

So we're just gonna go down one right now 'cause I've got it on the table. I can't go any lower right now. But you put that back in, put your safety pins back in, and then you are ready to go with that different height trailer. So who's using this Well, pretty much anybody to do with construction with a pintle hitch, maybe farm, agricultural, landscapers, those kind of things. Heavy equipment operators possibly.

Keep in mind, this particular one's maxed out to 10K, 10,000 pounds, has a nine-inch drop, so that should give you plenty of room if you need to drop down if you have a lifted vehicle. Some quick measurements overall from the front of the plate to the back of the two-inch solid shank here, we've got 13 3/4 inches long, 15 inches from the top of the plate down to the flat surface. On the height, center of the hitch pin hole to the center of these adjustable holes here, center on center is nine inches, so nine inches. And then from where this gusset meets up with the shank to the back is six inches. And then from the center of the hitch pin hole to here is three inches, and then three inches from the hitch pin hole back to the back of the shank. The pintle mounting pattern is very standard. You got 3 3/8 center to center on the horizontal and 1 3/4 inches on the vertical center to center. Well folks, that should wrap it up for our quick look together today. This, again, is the Brophy adjustable pintle hook mounting plate. I'm Steven. Stay safe while you're towing.
