  • Tongue Weight Capacity of Curt Pintle Hook Mounting Plate for 2-1/2" Hitches
    Hi Larry; I reached out to Curt and found that the tongue weight capacity of the Curt Pintle Hook Mounting Plate for 2-1/2" Hitches # C48349 is 3,000 lbs. The closest thing we have is the # 337PM84 for a 2" hitch and # RP38186 for a 3" but both top out at 4,000 lbs. We do not carry a mounting plate for a hitch at this time with a high enough capacity for your grain trailer.

  • Can Curt Pintle Hook Mounting Plate be Used in the Rise Position
    The Curt Pintle Hook Mounting Plate # C48349 can only be used in the drop position, but we do have an alternative solution for you with the B&W Tow & Stow Pintle Hook with 2" Ball # BWTS20055. This has a max rise of 4-1/2" so it will give you the height you're needing. I also like this solution over the Curt simply because it's much easier to adjust since it's tool-free.

    Though I may have another option available for you, the B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount # BWTS30049B is not available with a pintle hitch as of yet.
