Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the CURT Pintle Hook Mounting Plate for two inch Hitches with the 12 and a quarter inch long Shank. Has a 10,000 pound weight capacity. Now, this is a hitch mounted adapter plate. It's gonna provide an adjustable height mounting point up front here for your pintle hook to attach to.
Now, the pintle hook is not included. We do sell those separately on our website. And I just wanted to pop up an insert to show you what we're talking about. There's what the pintle hook looks like, and it'll bolt to these poles right here. It does give you six different positions.
One, two, three, four, five, six. So those six different positions will let you customize the height of the pintle hook for your application. This is designed to fit into a two inch by two inch trailer hitch receiver opening. Now, this is to be used only in the drop position like it is right now. It's not to be used in the rise position.
Weight capacity on this is 10,000 pounds. Now, the shank length we're gonna measure overall, and then from the center of the hitch pin hole to the front of the plate. So if we go overall, from the end back to the front of the plate, it's right at 14 and three quarter inches, overall length. If we measure from the center of the hitch pin hole here to the front of the plate, this is gonna be right at 12 and a quarter inches. Now, the mounting plate itself right here in the front that the pintle hook attaches to, a few measurements on that.
The overall height is going to be 12 and a half inches tall. The overall width, five inches wide. And then the mounting holes that the pintle hook attaches to, if we measure those holes the distance between the holes horizontally center to center, you can see is right at three and three eighths inches. And then the measurement, center to center vertically between the holes is right at one and three quarter inches. The mounting holes themselves are nine and 16ths inch diameter. This is a sturdy steel construction, has a solid shank to it, and it has a nice, durable carbide black powder coat finish on it. Now, when you install this into your hitch receiver, it will require a hitch pin and clip, or a hitch lock to install this. We do sell those separately on our website. The diameter is your standard five eights inch diameter for the hitch pin. But that should do it for the review on this CURT Pintle Hook Mounting Plate for two inch Hitches with the 12 and a quarter inch long Shank.
Ratings & Reviews
The truck hitch was setting at 27" could not find anything local so off to the web E Trailer was the first place that I went to, to see if they had a drop hitch that would work with the pintel hook that would drop the pintel hook down to 20". sure, enough they had two of the in stock, I ordered them had them ship them to me overnight, received them like promised, customer is happy, Boss is happy.
Thanks E Trailer

Amazing product! Absolutely fast shipping! Great buying experience. Packed tight and they don’t skimp on ensuring your product is shipped safe. 1st time buyer and I’m coming back for more! ETrailer is legit.
The perfect rig for my tractor/forwarder trailer.
I need a 14" drop hitch for my truck. It was a little short but after the weight of the trailer it leveled out nicely. Plate was a little thinner than I thought it would be but worked just fine under a 10,000 pound load
Hi Amy, Thanks for getting this shipped out asap. We were able to move a Semi Trailer around our yard this last week using this & a Plate Mounted Pintle Hook. Saved us from renting a Forklift. I didn't get Pictures...Maybe next time!
I use Curt Pintle Hitch plates with either 6061 aluminum 2x3x5 foot bars or 2x1 channel steel bars with attached 3 inch diameter ABS drain pipe mounted on etrailer front hitches and rear factory truck hitches to protect the truck, SUV, or van front and rear bumpers and body from bad drivers. Mounted to the frame the front of rear hitch impact bars are much stronger than aftermarket bull bars or front protective bars that will crush into the front grill and bumper or rear of a vehicle
Robust! This pintle mount plate is a monster! Fitment to my 2013 Toyota 4Runner 2” hitch is great, and precisely the size I was looking for, given rear hatch access,(The rear hatch swings free and clear) and pintle hook rise requirements. I easily went from 17” to 26” off the pavement! Photos will show the additional reflective tape I applied to necessitate a safe night’s drive. Photos show the really nice locking pin that secures the mount plate. Special kudos to Jessie at etrailer customer service to expertly assist me in the selection discussion- what a joy! Delivery was ahead of schedule and the product met my specifications! Now let’s get on the road and see how she runs!
