Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer. Today we're gonna take a look at the smart plug four foot long 30 amp female to 15 amp male RV power cord. Now this is a four foot long adapter. It's gonna let you connect a smart plug cord set to an outlet at a home or campsite. The 30 amp female connector right here is designed to plug into your smart plug cord set, and this end, the 15 amp male connector plugs into an outlet. It does use a multi-point locking system right here.

You can see if you squeeze both sides, this multi-point locking system will ensure a nice solid connection. The dual smart plug locking side levers here will snap the plug securely into the inlet. This will help eliminate any stress on the plug connection, and the straight connection of the smart plug female end makes plugging in very easy, even in the dark. They do use triple weatherproof seals to prevent any water, corrosion or overheating. And you can see, it does include this nice clear snap-on cap that'll protect the terminals when this is not plugged in.

So you just push that on, and you hear it snap into place, won't fall out. The being clear helps easily see the type of plug because if you look on the end here, the plug is marked. So even with the cap on, you're able to tell what the connection is. Now this does use a reverse polarity indicator system, meaning it uses right up here. There's two LED lights here that'll let you know if it's safe to connect to shore power.

Basically there's a blue light and a red light. If just the blue light on, that means the power's on and the connection's safe. If both the blue and the red light is showing, that means it's in neutral, has been incorrectly wired, causing reverse polarity. And if just the red light shows, that means the ground is incorrectly wired. If both of 'em are off like it is now, that means there's no power connected.

This is made of high quality materials. It's gonna hold up in extreme climates or out on the water. Does use a marine grade stainless steel components that hold up season after season. And the pins on that inside, they are nickel plated brass electrical pins and tinned wires to resist corrosion. All the plastics are UV and heat resistant. Also, what's nice, if you notice the plug itself, the female plug is a nice bright orange color for visibility. And this part is made in the USA.
