Hi everyone. I'm Evangeline right here at etrailer. Today we're taking a look at our Infinite Rule trailer coupler latch lock. This is designed specifically for trailer couplers that require a three inch and an eighth of an inch span. So, whether your coupler is smaller or right up there to that measurement, this is something that will work for adding some security to your trailer. This goes by several different names.

Pin lock, coupler latch lock, pin latch lock. But the main thing that it does is when there is a little opening on your trailer coupler, whether it's something like this Demco, or you have just a regular trigger style latch, you'll see a small hole there and this pin will fit through that hole. The main purpose is that this prevents that trigger from being pulled or that latch from lifting. A lot of people will add this lock when their trailer is parked. That way you can keep it parked and not have to worry about someone coming out with a ball mount and latching onto your trailer.

Now, people might still be able to lift up your trailer, whether it's by the safety chains or by half having the ball mount on there, but it's not gonna be a safe connection. And you may also remedy that with around the coupler lock options for that full security. A latch lock is also helpful when you are hooked up to the trailer. Maybe both your truck and your trailer are parked and you wanna make sure no one unhooks the trailer and runs off with it. Not being able to unlatch means that ball mount stays in place and you have that extra security there too.

So this comes a part two pieces, and you do get two keys with this lock. And when you need to engage it, you just put the two pieces together and then you have to turn the key as if you we inchesre threading a bolt. There's a good amount of thread to this lock, so I recommend just turning until it doesn't turn anymore and then lining it up with one of the notches on the lock face, and that way you'll be able to take your key out. So that part confuses some people, but once that's out, you can then put the dust cap on and that prevents dirt and debris from going inside that lock barrel. If you're looking to add some safety as you have your trailer parked, then a coupler latch like this is very helpful.

The fact that this can work with different types of trailers, different shapes and sizes, especially with that three inch and an eighth of an inch length is useful, especially if you have multiple trailers or you're not sure what type of trailer you're borrowing or renting or using for the weekend.
