Extensive Testing

InfiniteRule products undergo extensive third-party testing to determine shear strength. The shear strength is determined by placing the hitch lock in a stress position and subjecting it to increasing force until a required proof load (maximum force received without deformity) is met or the pin fails. This lock has a shear strength of 42,000 lbs


Installation

The short pin included with this set is used as a hitch lock to secure your B&W Tow & Stow 21K adjustable ball mount to your 3" hitch. 2 Long pins are used to secure your ball mount platform to the ball mount. The additional long pin is used to secure your ball to your ball mount platform.

I just wanted to Thank etrailer and especially Dena who helped me return my wrong sized locking pins for the ones that actually fit, Even though it was beyond the period to return these items Dena took care of me as I ordered the correct pins and got full credit for the ones that didn't work. The locks are great quality and fantastic for hitch security. The downside is that you have to turn the key several times to unscrew the lock from the pin. Its a trade off, but I will lean toward security over the convenience.

@Steven It is great to hear they are working well and keeping the security top notch. When unscrewing the lock from the pin, are you not able to unlock and then screw from the other side, keeping the key in the same position? Maybe it is just something with your particular setup, but you should be able to un screw without turning the key over and over again. Let me know how you're going about it, I want to make sure the security AND convenience are working for you.
