What's up, everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out this linchpin from Redline on this flatbed trailer. A good reason to replace your linchpins is if they're scarred up or worn out. You see that it's already bent and the ring doesn't snap into place like it should. That's important because we're gonna use it to hold this arm on the flatbed trailer in place. Without it, it's gonna move back and forth and you don't want that while you're down the road.
So just take your new linchpin, bring the ring out, drop the pin through the hole, snap it in place, and now it's not going anywhere. This linchpin's gonna be made out of a low carbon steel with a zinc finish, so when you leave it on your trailer you don't have to worry about the elements bothering it. The pin's gonna have a three-eights inch diameter, so check out your trailer where you're gonna put it to make sure that's gonna fit there, and the usable length on the pin is gonna be one and three quarter inches. Overall, it's gonna be really easy to replace those linchpins on your trailer and a really good idea, especially if they're damaged. You don't want anything coming loose while you're going down the road.
