Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Curt three inch to two and a half inch hitch receiver reducer sleeve. Now this reducer sleeve will let you use a two and a half inch towing and hitch mounted accessory with your three inch hitch receiver. It's very easy to use. You just slide it directly into your three inch hitch and onto the shank of your accessory.
The adapter allows you to reduce a three inch by three inch hitch receiver opening to the two and a half inch by two and a half inch size. This is a high strength steel carbon steel construction. Has a nice durable carbide black powder coat finish on it. To prevent rust and corrosion. Now pin hole diameter right here on the side is gonna be a three quarter inch diameter hole.
Now, one note I do wanna mention is the weight capacity is limited to the rated capacity of your hitch receiver. A few measurements on this. We'll start with the overall length. So if we go from one end to the other is a six and a quarter inches. And then if we do the end you can see it's gonna be outside.
Outside is three inches by three inches. Inside two and a half inches by two and a half inches. Last measurement I wanna give you is the measurement of the hitch pin hole. So we're gonna measure it from this end and then up to that end. So if we go from this end to the center.
Let's turn it this way. And we'll go from the end to the center. Is three and three quarter inches. And then from the center of the hitch pin hole to the other end that's gonna be right at two and a half inches. But that should do it for the review on this Curt three inch to two and a half inch hitch receiver reducer sleeve..

If I was going to keep the current hitch, I would chose a reducer with a separate set of holes to keep it in the 2½" receiver. This is essentially merely a "liner" and is removed every time my trailer hitch or bike rack is removed.
I guess I didn't need the 3" reducer. The 2.5 did the trick

Sliped this adapter right in my Class V Hitch works great. I'm using it with A Curtis adj hitch and locking pins. I'm towing a 24ft 10k cargo trailer with it.
