Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Taylor Made marine gas strut for your boat hatch. Now, this is going to be a replacement gas strut for your boat hatch. So if your current one is worn out or it's not holding the lid up anymore, this is going to swap in real easily. What this does is it makes opening and closing your hatch a lot smoother.
When you lift the lid, the strut is going to extend to help support the weight and so you're not gonna be fighting it. And then when you close it, this is going to compress slowly so the hatch comes down gently instead of slamming shut. Installation's gonna be pretty simple as well. This does use a ball and socket connection that snaps onto your 10 millimeter ball studs, which are standard on a lot of boat hatches. This is built from heat treated steel, so it's strong, it's made to last.
It has corrosion resistant coating, so that means it won't rust even if you're in salt water environments. And lemme go ahead and just show you the extended length. I'm gonna get my tape measure here. I'm gonna measure center of socket to center of socket. So as I hope you can see, we're sitting right at 15 inches on center, and this has a 70 pound compression force.
So this is designed to handle moderately heavy hatch lids without any problem. I think it's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
