Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Victron VE.Direct Cable. Now this is a communications cable, not a power cable, and it's called a VE.Direct Cable and it's used to let Victron devices talk to each other. So, this cable is going to be about three feet long and it has straight connectors on both ends. And you're going to use this to connect VE.Direct-enabled Victron products like your battery monitors, your BMD series, or MPPT solar charge controllers to a Victron system controller, such as a Cerbo GX or Color Control GX.
Once connected this is going to allow system data like battery status, solar performance, and charging information to be shared and displayed in the Victron monitoring system locally or remotely through VRM. So, if you already have Victron equipment and you want proper monitoring and communication between devices, this is going to be the correct cable to use. You just wanna make sure that both devices have VE.Direct ports. So, this is gonna be a simple, but essential data cable for Victron systems. And without it, the devices won't be able to communicate or show detailed system information.
