Your old AC rattled itself apart. This rugged kit pairs a reinforced rooftop unit with components built to keep cooling after traveling washboard trails, dusty job sites, and backroads that test everything bolted down.
When you're replacing your unit or building a rig for backcountry trips, the last thing you want is to make guesses about what works together. This kit gives you everything you need: a medium-profile rooftop unit and air distribution box are made to work together, which makes installation smoother and the setup more reliable.
If you've ever had an AC that ran all day and still left your rig feeling muggy, this one's a different story. It's made for off-road rigs without ducted air, so it's a solid choice if you're replacing an old setup or converting a trailer or van into a camping rig. With 13,500 Btu of cooling power, you'll feel the temperature shift in your space within minutes, not hours. The air will feel dry, cool, and breathable.
Most rooftop ACs are designed for highways and campgrounds. Coleman-Mach's Roughneck units are different. They're braced and reinforced so they don't rattle apart when the road gets bad. A stabilizer ties the compressor and coil into a solid frame, the coil housing is steel instead of plastic, and a reinforced basepan keeps the whole unit from flexing. Add it all up and you get a unit that stays together through the vibration, bumps, and jolts that come with off-road travel.
The air distribution box gives you full control right at ceiling level, with simple knobs you can reach without stepping over gear or climbing around your build. You can direct airflow with adjustable dampers, and the low-profile Euro styling helps cover old ceiling marks if you're swapping out an older unit. When the filters get dusty, the pop-out grilles make cleanup fast. No tools required. Just pull, rinse, and snap it back in.
When the nights get cold or the temps drop before sunrise, this system can take the edge off. It's prepped for a 5,600 Btu heat strip (sold separately), which gives you just enough warmth to stay comfortable without firing up the furnace. It's a simple upgrade that's especially handy if you're boondocking or working remote jobs in unpredictable weather.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Coleman-Mach Roughneck MACH 3 13,500 BTU ductless RV air conditioner system in this white polished white shroud. Now, one of the biggest headaches, as I'm sure you can understand in RV repairs, is figuring out which parts are going to work together, which are compatible with one another. This kit's gonna take all that off of your plate. So, this rooftop unit is going to come with an air distribution box, and everything's gonna be designed to work together.
So, what that means for you is installation is going to be smoother, nothing's going to catch you off guard. So, whether you're doing the install yourself or you're paying someone else to do it, having everything together in one kit that is going to be designed to work together and be compatible with each other is going to make the job go faster and cleaner, and give you a whole lot less stress. Now, this Roughneck Series is designed for harsher environments. So, if you travel in areas with extreme heat or lots of dust or rugged terrain, this unit is going to do a great job of holding up better than your typical standard rooftop RV air conditioner. This has a sturdier build and reinforced components.
So, this is not going to get rattled apart as easily on bumpy back roads. For instance, this has a brace plate assembly that's going to secure the condenser coil and compressor from high vibrations, and a welded wire compressor clamp that's going to limit the motion of the compressor itself. So again, it's built to be very durable, to be very rugged. And this system is made for RVs without ducted air, so it's gonna be perfect if you're replacing an old setup or adding a second unit to cool down a separate space in your RV or camper. And with 13,500 BTUs of cooling power, that's gonna give you enough cooling for your smaller to mid-size RVs or campers.
Think like 30 feet long and below. Inside of this unit, there are large coils and airflow boosting fins that are going to help pull the heat out efficiently. So, your RV's gonna stay cooler with a lot less strain on the system overall. Now, looking at the measurements of the unit itself, we're sitting right at about 38 inches long. The overall width, we're sitting close to 28 inches wide.
And this is a medium profile air conditioner unit, and this sits about 14 inches tall. And this is going to fit over your standard opening size on your RV roof of 14 1/4 inches by 14 1/4 inches. And this weighs about 80 pounds or so. Talking about this cover, as you can see, it's pretty aerodynamic looking. I really like the shape of it. It's streamlined and as I mentioned, it's a polished white cover. So, along the sides and the front is that polished texture, that shiny surface. And then, on the top and back is a more matte textured finish. So, it's kind of a a two-toned finish. And it's not like a real rigid or hard cover. It has a little bit of give to it as you can see. So, I think it's gonna be pretty impact resistant. I could imagine, like, something hitting it. It's not going to shatter or fracture, like maybe some harder covers might. So, overall I think it's gonna do a great job of protecting those internal components. Taking a closer look here on this side of my table at the other parts of this kit, this does come with this air distribution box that's gonna give you full control at ceiling level with these simple knobs. So, we have our fan speed knob and our temperature adjustment knob, so it's gonna be very easy to reach. You're also gonna be able to direct the airflow where you want it with the front and back dampers. And we have these dials here that's going to allow you to control the rate of airflow there. And so, it's gonna be very easy to use. It has removable, reusable air filters, so you pop those grills out. Rinse those filters off, let 'em air dry, and then you can pop 'em back in for cleaner air and less restricted air. Some measurements here. Looking at the overall length, we're sitting right about 21 and 3/4 inches long. The overall width about 20 3/4 inches wide. And this is going to stick down from your ceiling about 2, 2 1/2 inches or so. So, it's not gonna take up a whole lot of head space. And it does include everything that you see here to get this installed. The bolts, frame here. So, everything that you need to get these components installed and in place, and up and running. Now, a few other things I wanna mention is this is not going to be backwards compatible with any air conditioning systems or components from 2024 or earlier because this does use the new R-32 refrigerant that meets the 2025 EPA regulations. So, just be aware of that. And one other thing I wanted to mention that is available to you is you can pick up separately a heat strip that's gonna be compatible with this unit. It's not meant as a furnace replacement, but if you're looking for something just to take the chill out of the air and it's not, it doesn't warrant you actually firing up your furnace, the heat strip might be a good option to consider. So, you can take that model number that you see there on your screen to find it on our website, and it's gonna be, like I said, a simple install into this unit. And it's just gonna be a way to make the mornings a little bit more comfortable if you don't need that furnace. Now, if you happen to have any other additional questions that I didn't cover for you today about this system or any of the other systems that we carry, don't hesitate to reach back out to us. We do wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you want and need. But I think that's gonna wrap up our time together. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
