Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area, behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies and some interior paneling to access this harness.
Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in the storage compartment on the threshold.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because your vehicle runs on a multiplex wiring system, the wiring needs to be converted to be compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this T1 vehicle wiring harness with the four-way flat trailer connector. Now this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2021 Kia Seltos, and on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show you if this'll work for your application. Now this will provide this four way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights, and it is compatible with five pole, six pole and seven pole adapters that we do sell separately on our website.
It does connect very quickly and easily. Basically, all you have to do is locate your connection points that are in the rear cargo area behind the driver's side and passenger side, tail lights plug in these T-connectors, one on each side, ground your white wire and then run this power wire to your vehicle's battery. Now those include this Modulite converter here, this black box, and that's to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer. It is a powered module and it connects directly to the battery to avoid overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Now the wiring that comes out the back, that's your four-way's attached to, that's all a 16 gauge bonded wire. And if you notice, the four-way does come with this integrated dust cover that when you're not plugged into your trailer, you can just put that cap over there and it'll protect the terminals from any damage or from the elements.
A few specs on this, maximum amperage for the stop and turn light circuits is five amps per circuit, tail lights is 7.5 amps per circuit. And last thing we'll do is just go through the steps of how these pieces all install. They do give you a nice set of detailed instructions that'll describe how they install, and it even gives you pictures of the connections. But basically, again, what you'll do is go to the rear of your vehicle and you'll go behind the tail lights, and you'll want to start with the T-connector that has the yellow wire in it, that's for the driver's side, and you'll go ahead and connect this into the wiring harness behind the tail light on the driver's side. And then you'll take this other T1 connector with the green wire, the green and red wire, that's for the passenger side, and you can see it has a length of wire here so you can run this all the way over to the passenger side, plug it in the same way.And then this module converter box right here, you do want to attach that to a flat surface so it doesn't bounce around. It does have a tab here with the hole and you can put a screw through there, but they do also give you some double face tape you can use to attach it down.
Once that's attached down, you'll run the four way out towards the back, and then you'll have two remaining wires to connect. Again, the white wire has the eyelid on it that'll connect to a nearby ground. If there isn't one, you can make your own. They do give you a grounding screw to drill a hole and make your own ground. And then the last wire is the power wire, this will run to your vehicle's battery. So to get it up to your vehicle's battery, they do give you a length of wire.
And the connectors, you'll take a butt connector and attach it, and attach it to one end right here, run your wire up to the front. When you get up to the front, you don't want to connect it directly to the battery. You want to run it through this in-lying fuse holder. So you'll take the other butt connector, connect it to one side of the fuse holder, just like that. And on the other side of the fuse holder, you'll take the silent connector, connect it, and that'll attach to your battery. Once that's all connected, pop it open, take your included 15 amp fuse and just inserted into your fuse holder.Once it's installed in there. Oops, get it in there correctly. There you go, just push your fuse in, put the cap on it and then your system's all ready to go. Now they do give you some extra cable ties here to take up any slack in the wiring, but that should do it for the review on the T1 vehicle wiring harness with the four way flat trailer connector.
Good kit, took about 2 hr, I'm unfamiliar with Kia's and it took me awhile to figure out how to pop off trim pieces. Take the tray covering the spare out, pop out the two plastic retainers that hold the threshold on, three screws on each side panel, then you pull them out enough to work. Longest part as expected was running the power wire. Nice kit no cutting or hacking required
Great product, easy install. Few notes that varied in my experience (2022 Kia Seltos). The taillight removal: did not have a "plastic trim cover", the black plastic WAS the taillight. BOTH sides had to be wired, the video only showed the drivers side, no big deal. Also, found out you need to tuck the harness and adapter clips down into the bodywork, they will not fit tucked in behind the lamp fixture.
OVERALL: Excellent product and easy to install. 30 minutes and this portion was done.
Good quality with easy installation
