Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.
Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness. This system is designed to add a 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle, so that you can power up your trailer's signal lights, that way anyone that's driving behind you, as you're pulling your trailer, will be able to see your stop and turn signals. So everything's gonna be a lot safer for you. Now, this is specifically designed for your 2021 and newer Ford Mustang Mach-E. This is gonna be a pretty straightforward installation, definitely something that you can do yourself on a weekend or an evening.
They do include very detailed instructions with pictures to walk you step by step through how this is going to get installed. But I will walk you through, just a quick overview here in a few minutes. But before I do, I want to note that this does have a nice dust cap on it to help protect those connections from any dirt and debris. This is going to be compatible with your 5-pole, 6-pole and 7-pole adapters. So if your trailer has any of those, we do have adapters available here at etrailer.com that will plug in here.
But this system is gonna be integral, very important to make sure that, that light signal is gonna get back to your trailers. But if you do have a trailer that has a 5, 6 or 7-pole wiring system, we do have adapters for you, so that you can get that connected. Now, this is gonna provide 7.5 amps per circuit for your tail lights and 5 amps per circuit for your stop and turn lights. And the way this installs, I'll just give you a very quick overview. So these little plugs here are going to install behind your tail lights.
So you'll get behind your tail lights and see that you already have plugs like this that are connecting your tail lights to your wiring system. So you'll just separate those plugs, get these plugged-in in place that will then reconnect that circuit, so that your tail lights will function as normal when you're not connected to a trailer. Everything's gonna work properly. But then it will also send that signal down to your trailer's lights when you are connected. So your yellow and brown are gonna be on your driver's side.
And then you'll do that same process over on your passenger side, this green and red, you'll route over to your passenger side. Disconnect the plug that's already there. Plug this in, just like on the driver's side and you're ready to go there. This does have a ground wire, that's your white wire. And they do include a self tapping screw, so that you can get this grounded to a metal surface. Obviously your 4-pole or 4-way flat connector is gonna be out at the back of your vehicle, probably close to your hitch. And then this black wire is going to be your power wire. So this is going to be connected to your vehicle battery. That way you're not putting too much strain on your lighting system, it's gonna be self-powered. So you will need to run this up to your battery. They do include this wire extension, so that you can get it connected. They also included a couple of heat shrink butt connectors. So you'll get one side put in place there, crimp that down. You'll need to strip a little bit of that coating off there, put the wire in there, crimp that down. Then you can heat shrink that, so that it's going to be a nice, secure seal for you. You'll run this up to your engine compartment. As you're running this, you do want to stay away from anything that's gonna be hot or moving that could potentially damage this wire. They do include a lot of ties here for you, so that you can make sure that that's gonna stay up in place, wherever you're routing it. Once you get up to your engine compartment, you'll take the other side of the wire and connect it to one half of your fuse, hold her here. So, you'll cut this, connect one end to your wire and then the other end will connect to your ring terminal that's going to go on to the positive side of your battery. And then you can install your 15 amp fuse that is also included. So pretty straightforward process. It will take you a little bit of time. I installed a similar system in my wife's vehicle, not too long ago. It took a few hours for me on my own, but definitely something that you can do, even if you're not super familiar with doing work on your vehicle. This is a pretty straightforward process, and they do include instructions to walk you through every step of the way. So if you are looking to add a trailer light wiring onto your Mustang, this is gonna be a great system. It's gonna provide everything that you need, so that you can get that installed. And this plug and play system is a really nice option for you, rather than having to cut into your vehicle's wiring, potentially causing damage, voiding your warranty, that sort of thing. This is really nice, being able to just plug that into your tail light and then into the factory wiring system there. So really straightforward, easy way of making sure that you're gonna be able to have those lights on your trailer. That's going to complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..
Installation is quite straight forward. However the manual included can be troublesome for inexperience user. The routing of the wires are really up to the installer's imagination. I looked up forum on others installation guide for completing my project. I am glad everything went well
The fit and quality of my wiring harness for my new 2021 Mustang Mach E was everything I expected. I would highly recommend etrailer.com products.
