Wiring a trailer doesn’t have to mean digging into factory wires. This Hopkins Plug-In Simple harness connects directly to existing plugs, so you skip the splicing and guessing. It’s a clean install that gets you towing fast without any hassle.
This harness gives you a standard 4-flat connector for your trailer’s running lights, turn signals, and brake lights. It’s exactly what most small trailers and cargo carriers need, including setups that power accessories like LED cargo carrier lights.
Even if your vehicle didn’t come with a tow package, this harness has you covered. The built-in powered converter supplies the right signal strength for trailer lights without overloading the vehicle’s wiring system, making it safe and reliable for everyday towing.
Once installed, the harness tucks neatly out of sight near the hitch area. The weather-resistant connectors keep out dirt and moisture for long-lasting performance, so you can hook up your trailer whenever you need without worrying about corrosion or loose connections.
This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Hopkins Plug-in Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with the four-pole flat trailer connector. This product fits certain years of the Nissan Juke, Nissan Sentra, and Nissan Versa Note. You can use the vehicle fit guide located at etrailer.com to ensure that this is the fit for your vehicle. It's going to provide a four-way flat connector at the back of your vehicle. This is going to power your trailer signal lights. The unit is compatible with five-pole, six-pole, and seven-pole adapters. Adapters are sold separately. It's going to come with a dust cap for the four-way flat connector.
That way, you can cover up the connection points whenever your plug's not being used. The black box right here . This is the included taillight converter. This ensures that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer's. This power module is going to connect directly to the vehicle battery, so that's going to avoid overloading your vehicle's electrical system. The unit's designed to connect quickly and easily. You need to locate the connection points in your rear cargo area.
Then, you need to plug in your connectors. Now, one connector is going to go to the passenger's side of the vehicle. The other one's going to go to the driver's side. These plugs are custom fit for your vehicle, so they're going to match up perfectly and they're going to snap lock together for a nice, tight, secure fit. Once you have those connected, you'll need to make a ground connection. Your ground wire is the white wire with the ring terminal attached to it.
You want to get this grounded to suitable grounding location with the included grounding screw. Then, you'll need to mount the converter box in an out-of-the-way location. It's got a mount located on each side. That way you can get that secured using the included cable ties. Next, you'll need to run your hot lead to the vehicle battery. That's this red wire coming out of the box.
This red wire connects to one end of the bundle. It has a butt connector already attached to it. The other end of the bundle runs to the vehicle battery and gets connected to one half of the fuse holder here at the butt connector. The other half of the fuse holder has a ring terminal on it, and that gets connected to the positive post of your vehicle battery. It does come with your 20 amp fuse. Goes directly into the fuse holder and it's got the cap- goes over. It's going to keep that safe and protected. Then, you can secure any excess or slack in the wiring with the remaining cable ties. Once this installation is complete, the four-way connector is going to be stowed in your rear cargo area. Plenty of wiring here. That way, you can extend it out the back when you need to use it, and then you can tuck it away when it's not in use. It is recommended that you use a small amount of terminal grease on all your electrical connections, like the plugs on the vehicle and the four-pole connector itself. This grease is designed to help to prevent corrosion to the terminals, and it is included with the kit. When it comes to the maximum amperage for the stop and turn lights, we're looking at three amps per circuit. For the taillights, we're looking at six amps per circuit. That's going to do it for today's look at the Hopkins Plug-in Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with the four-pole trailer connector.
