Wiring for trailer lights doesn’t have to mean tearing into factory wires. The Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector connects through existing plugs with no need to cut or splice anything. It’s a clean install that keeps your wiring intact and gets you towing faster.
The built-in 4-flat connector gives you the basic lighting functions—running lights, turn signals, and brake lights—so your trailer stays visible and legal on the road. It’s the standard setup most small and mid-size trailers use, ready to plug in and go.
This harness tucks neatly behind trim using factory ports and grommets. That means no drilling or exposed wiring hanging under the bumper. The result is a tidy, hidden connection that looks like it came straight from the factory.
Even if your vehicle didn’t come with a tow package, this harness includes an integrated converter that handles the job. It translates your vehicle’s lighting signals for trailer use, so you can hook up safely without adding extra modules or relays.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Hopkins plug-in simple vehicle wiring harness with a four-pole flat trailer connector. This product fits certain years of the Toyota Camry. You can use the vehicle fit guide located at etrailer.com to ensure that this is a fit for your vehicle. It's going to provide a four-way flat connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. Now this is compatible with five-pole, six-pole, and seven-pole adapters. Adapters are sold separately. It's going to come with a dust cap for the four way flat connector.
That way you can cover up the connection points when your plugs not being used. It also includes a tail light converter. This ensures that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailers, and it's going to connect quickly and easily. It does come with detailed instillation instructions to walk you through that process step by step, but basically what you'll need to do is locate your connection points in the rear cargo area. The connectors with the green wire go to the passenger side. The other ones go to the driver side.
These plugs are going to match up perfectly with the plugs on the vehicle. They're going snap lock together for a nice tight secure fit. Once you have those connected, you'll need to make a ground connection. That's your white wire with a ring terminal already attached to it. You want to get that grounded to a suitable grounding location with the included grounding screw. Then you'll need to mount your converter box.
It's got a mount on each side. That way you can get it mounted using the provided cable ties. Once your instillation's complete, the four way connectors are going to be stowed in your real cargo area. You can easily extend it out the back of the vehicle when needed, and then tuck it away when you're not using it, plenty of wiring here to do that. It is also recommended that you use a small amount of terminal grease in all your electrical connections like the plugs on the vehicle and the four-pole connector itself. The grease is going to help prevent corrosion, and it is included with the kit. That's going to do it for today's look at the Hopkins plug in simple vehicle wiring harness with the four-pole flat trailer connector.
