Features to know about

Stable Handling on Long Trips: Frame-Mounted Tie-Downs

These tie-downs mount directly to the truck’s frame for the most secure and balanced setup. With the camper weight distributed evenly and the center of gravity lowered, your rig stays stable through crosswinds, uneven roads, and long-distance hauls. The frame is the strongest part of your truck, so mounting here keeps the camper from shifting or swaying while maintaining confident handling mile after mile.

Install Without Drilling: Custom-Fit Design

The brackets bolt to pre-existing holes in the frame, so installation takes little to no drilling and no cutting or modifications. Each set is custom-fit for a clean install that maintains ground clearance and the strength of the factory frame. Once mounted, the tie-downs sit tight beneath the body, out of sight and out of the way when not in use.

Built to Last: Aluminum and Stainless Steel Construction

The TorkLift Talon tie-downs combine rustproof aluminum arms with stainless steel receiver brackets for heavy-duty strength in a lightweight package. A high-impact powder coat finish adds another layer of protection against weather and road wear. These materials handle years of travel and harsh conditions without weakening or corroding.

Clean Look When Not in Use: Removable Arms

When the trip’s over, remove the aluminum arms and your truck’s clean lines stay intact—only the low-profile brackets remain visible beneath the frame. It’s a simple setup that keeps your vehicle looking neat while still ready for the next adventure.

Secure Connection: Adjustable Anchor Points

Each arm features two pin holes so you can extend it just enough to clear sidewalls or fenders and get turnbuckles positioned at the right angle. This adjustable design helps keep tension correct and prevents contact with your truck body, giving your camper a solid, balanced hold every time you tie down.

Video Transcript for Let’s Check Out the TorkLift Tie Downs-TL62PR

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the TorkLift Talon Custom Front Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs. Now, these are a custom fit part, they are designed to fit the 2014 to 2018 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks, and without either a board or a step underneath the truck bed or cab. And on a custom fit part like this, I always like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show you if this will work for your application. Now, this will include the two front aluminum tie-down inserts right here, the two steel frame brackets, the rubber covers, all the hardware you need, the extra bracket you need to install this onto your vehicle. Does come with a nice set of instructions that'll describe how this installs.

Now, these tie-downs will provide attachment points at the front of your truck for securing your bed-mounted camper to your vehicle. These are for the front, we do also offer rear tie-downs, which are sold separately on our website. Basically, one tie-down will go on the driver's side, the other one will go on the passenger's side, and then if you notice on the inserts, they have two holes on these inserts, and that is what'll allow you to connect your turn buckles from your camper to the truck, and it don't interfere with anything on your vehicle. And as we mentioned, these inserts are an aluminum construction. Also, what I'm gonna do is take one of these out just to show you.

On the insert itself, if you noticed, does have two different holes here. The two different holes on the shank allow you for different width campers, so if you go to insert this to the first hole, it's for a wider camper, if you insert it to the second hole, it's for a little bit narrower camper, so it gives you a range of campers this will work on. And what's nice about this, when you install these, you feel dramatic improvement with the vehicle handling and stability, and it is the safest way to haul a truck camper, it'll prevent vehicle sway and camper movement in all directions. This will let you haul your truck camper confidently by attaching your tie-downs to the strongest part of the truck, which will be the frame. The vehicle manufacturers do recommend that all full high-sliding camper bodies to be directly attached to the vehicle frame structure.

The frame-mounted design ensures excellent handling by securing the camper to the truck's base instead of its bed, which will better distribute the weight and keep the setup from being too top heavy. To install this, it is a fast no drill installation, secures your truck camper to your truck. It'll also maintain the value of your truck and prevent rust and bed damage by avoid drilling into your truck bed or bumper. As we mentioned, they are a custom fit for your vehicle, has a driver's side and a passenger's side bracket, and these brackets right here will fit tight to the truck frame, so there's no loss of any ground clearance, perfect for any off-road truck camping. And what's nice is when you're not using these, when you take your inserts out, basically, these will be virtually undetectable when they're not in use, so you'll remove the inserts.

And then what you'll do is take the included rubber covers right here, pop it over that, keep that opening covered, so no dirt or grime gets in there, and then all this will be underneath the vehicle, you won't even know it's there. The hidden design will return your truck to its original look when it's not being use as tie-downs. These parts are a steel construction except for the inserts, which are aluminum construction. They do all have a black powder coat finish on them for durability, and these parts are made in the USA. And again, just to show you, we'll go ahead and install the tie-down, pop off the cover. Once you get the cover off, and again, you just make sure you choose the correct hole for your application, I'm just gonna put it to the furthest one. Line that hole up, then you go to put your pin in there. Slide your pin all the way through, once it goes all the way through, clip it, and that'll hold the insert in place, and then you can attach your turn buckles to the insert. But that should do it for the review on the TorkLift Talon Custom Front Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs..

Received part of my order but did not receive Torklift frame mounted tie downs for the front for my 2015 Ford F350 and have not heard of status! I am planning a trip and hopefully will receive them soon as I have never had this happened to me on previous orders.

Easiest installation available. These fit perfect and attach just as instructed. The only issue you may have to watch is that on some truck frames, mine being one of them, Ford covers one of the holes with a black sticker that states, "No Mounting Bracket". In my case, the writing on this sticker on the passenger side frame was covered by a film of road grime and I had problems even finding the hole to dry fit the bracket until I cleaned off the frame with solvent. The actually TorkLift kit fits the frame perfectly though.

I just finished installing the front tie-downs and am really happy with the results. Although the instructions directed me to remove one e-cable bracket, I removed both e-cable brackets on the driver's side to get enough slack to slide the bracket behind the e-cable. See the pictures. Instructions were easy to follow. Many thanks to big A for the extra hands, impact tool and torque wrench!

The passenger rear bracket is very close to the exhaust pipe so when diesel particulate filter regeneration cycle begins, it will melt the label off the bracket but does not appear the even burn the paint on it so should still be OK, just be aware when unhooking the tie down from the bracket as it could be very hot.

I purchased the Torklift Talon front and rear TC tie downs and love the fact they are lightweight but yet very strong. Being aluminum powder coated is great being in a salt air environment so no rusting like the steel versions do.

by:

I ordered Camper tie-downs for my new Ram 2500. I erroneously ordered TDL2126A for the front. They wouldn't clear the nurfs. A quick call confirmed that I would need the TDL2127A. I had to pay for the 27As up front and hope when I returned the 26As on an rmer I would receive prompt refunds. Imagine my surprise when they notified me that they received my return and the refund was on its way. These guys are super, especially Brenden C.
ps the Aluminum tie downs are great and the happy jacks awesome!

by:

It's a little tricky feeding the bolts through the frame (almost lost one, but a little tape on the bolt/spring helped), but a great product otherwise. The mounting scheme for my Chevy 2500 HD is strong and ingeniously designed. No drilling or welding. The aluminum won't rust like other tie-downs mounted to the frame. It was well worth the extra money to get the aluminum version of this product.

by:

Excellent product. Good customer service. I will always use tork lift products from now on.
etrailer is an excellent vendor as well.
I upgraded from happy jack camper tie downs. I like the aluminum talon tork lifts for their easy installation, zero corrosion liability, and unimposing appearance when not in use.

About a year ago, I purchased the aluminum Talon Torklift Frame-Mounted Front and Rear Camper Tie-Downs. The install was easy taking the better part of a day including a little help from a local automotive mechanic to loosen and retorque the truck’s leaf spring bolts. The Tie-Downs have worked great since installed with no issues. I highly recommend them.

by:

I purchased front & rear TorkLift Frame mounts. Thay worked great and safer than bed mounts.

by:

Torklift frame mounted tie downs are a great product. The rear ones are easy to install. The front require a bit more skill and an extra set of hands. It’s a bit nerve wracking thinking you might loose the bolts into the frame! I upgraded my truck from an F150 to an F250. Because the brackets aren’t transferable, I had to get a new set and install them on my F250. I was glad I had the experience with the previous brackets on the F150 because the ones for the F250 are a bit heavier and more challenging to install. But I was able to do it with an extra set of hands to hold the brackets on to the frame. The fact that I went with the same Torklift system is a testament to the product. If you can afford aluminum, they’re beautiful and light. But once everything is in place, there’s no functional difference.
etrailer has great installation videos for the F150, but not the F250. I wish they had install videos for the F250 because it’s a bit more challenging, requiring an impact driver to loosen the nut on the driver side leaf spring.

by:

The tie-downs were a bit difficult to install for a novice but if you follow instructions closely they did install as outlined in the instructions. They are lightweight and have held my camper in place very well. I am happy with this purchase.

by:

I bought the Torklift camper tie downs for my new 2017 Ram 3500 dually. I haul a Lance 850 slide in truck camper. They came today and I installed them in about 4 hours. (I work slow) I bought the Aluminum ones so I don't have to worry about any rust. They look great and like the Torklift that was on my old truck I am sure they will give me great service.

by:

This is my second set of Torklift tie downs. Like the first, these are excellent. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is the annoying quality control in the packaging. My front tie downs came with only 1 bolt fisher, not the required 3! I was able to complete the install using the bolt fisher from the set of rear tie downs. I was able to install the C bolt without the fisher. One of the lock washers was the wrong size...not a big problem for a shop install but I had to make a trip to the local hardware store before I could finish the project. Lastly I had to cut off the passenger side bed bolt in order to get a socket on the B bolt to torque it down....again, not a problem for a shop install but irritating for this 70+ guy on his back in the driveway! *Aside from all this..I love the product!

by:

The rear mounts were easy to mount. The only problem the package was missing 4 flat washers. I also just received the Front mounts. They were a little harder to mount by myself. Some advice is to watch the install on [video]. I ended up using a floor Jack to hold the mounts.

by:

After installing them we put our newly purchased truck camper on the truck and took a trip from New York to Louisianna. They did their job perfectly! They held up with ease and nothing was bent as they are aluminum. The installation instructions seemed okay, everything came together.

by:

Install was easy and straight forward. Going to work great with my Northern Lite truck camper .

by:

No worries about securing the camper to the truck using the Torklift tie-downs. Third camper/truck I have used these on and would not consider any other option.

by:

Excellent product and excellent service from ETRAILER! Held up well after one year, will hold up in long run as well. Fit and finish of product is outstanding. Durable coatings, and well worth the extra money for these!

by:

I had a great customer experience with Ashley. Seemed very caring and understanding and resolved my issue with some tie downs that were defective.
Great customer care. Thank you

by:

Hooray for stainless and aluminum! So much better than the carbon steel ones that were constantly shedding rust. I have so much better confidence in these tie downs over the originals

by:

Ordered both front and back set for my 2023 F250. All good except one of the bolt holes for the front drive side is missing. Called etrailer. Option 1 - return (we'll see). Option 2 call torklift. Called torklift and left a message - we'll see what the response is. Viewing etrailer website, this is the proper fit. Viewing torklift website "There are no fits available". Photo included.

by:

There was a miss match with the first set I received (wrong part number) when the correct kit was received, TorkLift had packed the wrong extensions in the box. After TorkLift shipped the correct extensions everything went together correctly and worked as expected.
