These custom-fit tie-downs mount directly to the frame, which is the strongest part of your truck. That solid connection keeps your camper steady and your ride comfortable even when you’re covering thousands of miles or driving through rough terrain. Because the camper’s weight is spread evenly and sits lower, it avoids a top-heavy setup that can sway or shift in crosswinds. The result is stable handling that feels just like driving without a camper.
These tie-downs bolt onto your frame using pre-existing holes, so there’s little to no drilling and no need for modifications. The brackets mount tight to the frame with minimal loss of ground clearance. That means you keep the truck’s strength and integrity while getting a clean, factory-style fit that’s easy to install with basic tools.
When you’re not hauling, remove the arms and the brackets are nearly invisible beneath your truck. The design tucks up close to the underside, keeping everything looking neat and uncluttered. You’ll hardly notice they’re there until it’s time to load up again.

Made from steel and finished with a high-impact powder coat, these tie-downs are built to handle the elements and long-term use. The durable finish adds an extra layer of protection against rust and wear, so you can count on them through years of travel and changing weather.
Each tie-down arm has two pin holes so you can adjust how far they extend from the truck body. That lets you clear sidewalls or fenders and find the best reach for your turnbuckles (sold separately). With two anchor holes on each attachment plate, you can fine-tune the angle for solid tension that keeps your camper locked in from multiple directions.

Today on our 1997 Ford F250 Heavy Duty, we're going to be installing the TorkLift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs for the rear of the vehicle, part number TLR3501. Here's the tie-down receiver that we're going to need to mount to our vehicle's hitch. You want to try to put it as far back on the hitch in the vehicle as possible, but yet you also have to keep in mind that you want to make sure it doesn't interfere with things. Like back here, we wouldn't able to drill our four holes, but right in this area here, on the other side we have plenty of room to drill through and not hit anything, as well as to install our hardware. We also want to make sure that the insert right here, when you put the insert into your receiver, that it will clear the body of the vehicle, which it will. We're going to go ahead and hold our piece up into position. We're going to take a paint marker and mark the four holes that we'll need to drill. Now when drilling out the holes, we will use the step drill bit method by starting smaller and then working our way up to a 7/16ths drill bit.
Next we're going to go ahead and take our tie-down receiver, we'll be attaching it to our hitch here using these 3/8ths bolts. We'll slide our bolt through, put one in each of the four holes we just drilled, and on the inside, put a flat washer, a lock washer and a hex nut. We'll repeat this for all four locations. Now that we have all of our hardware loosely installed, we'll go ahead and tighten it down and then torque it to the manufacturer's specification. Now with our receiver tube tightened and torqued to the vehicle's receiver hitch, go ahead and take our insert here. You'll notice that there's two different slots, one here and one here, that lines up with this hole, so it is adjustable.
You'll then take your pin and clip, after choosing which hole, go through, and then you'll clip it. When putting the insert into your receiver tube here, you want to make sure that the narrower, or shorter, side of the insert faces towards the rear of the vehicle. Now we'll go ahead and repeat the same process over on the driver's side. That's all there is to it to the installation of the TorkLift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs for the rear of the vehicle, part number TLR3501, on our 1997 Ford F250 Heavy Duty. .

It definitely is safe the way you have them, Paul! In a perfect world, the turn buckles would be perfect vertical, but this an imperfect world and not all campers have the attachment points in the same place. If you take a look at some of the installed pictures on the TorkLift Locking FastGun Turnbuckles # TLS9529-2-LK page, you can see most of them are at an angle. It's perfectly normal. Are you running any suspension enhancement on your Silverado?

Install looks great, Megan! Especially for it only taking two hours! They were moving. : ) Happy we confirmed what you found as well. Tie downs can be a pain in the rear with all the options out there. Now I do have to ask though, have you guys thought about any kind of suspension enhancement for the rear axle? It's a little hard to tell, but it looks like the back is sagging a bit in your last picture.

A year later and I would not do anything different. Absolutely the best system available especially paired with the fast guns. The camper is solid mounted and does not move. Yet can still be off loaded in just a few minutes. Remember good stuff isn’t cheap and cheap stuff isn’t good.
