When you’re loading up for a long haul, you want your camper locked down tight to the strongest part of your truck. These front tie-downs mount directly to the frame—the most rigid structure—so your camper stays stable and centered. By distributing the load evenly and lowering the camper’s center of gravity, they help you avoid sway and shifting on rough highways or in crosswinds. The result is a ride that feels planted and confident, even when you’re loaded heavy.
Once installed, the brackets sit tucked up under the truck, nearly flush with the frame, so they don’t take away from the look of your vehicle. When you’re not hauling a camper, you can remove the tie-down arms and pin quickly—leaving only the low-profile receivers out of sight underneath. It’s an easy way to keep a clean look and full ground clearance when your truck’s back to daily duty.

These tie-downs bolt to pre-existing holes in the frame, so there’s little to no drilling involved. The custom-fit design means no cutting or modifications are required, which keeps your truck’s structure intact and corrosion-free. Every set includes the hardware you need for mounting to the frame and lines up for a secure, tight fit that won’t compromise clearance for off-road use.
Made from durable powder-coated steel, these front tie-downs stand up to weather, road salt, and years of tough use. The finish resists rust and damage so they’ll keep working strong through rough conditions. For extra assurance, they come backed by a Legendary Lifetime Warranty—so you can count on them trip after trip.
Each tie-down arm has two anchor holes so you can adjust how far it extends from the truck body. That flexibility keeps your turnbuckles clear of fenders or sidewalls while letting you find the best angle for tensioning your camper anchors. Once tightened down with turnbuckles (sold separately), your camper stays locked in place from every direction for safe, steady handling on the road.

Hello, neighbors. It's Brad here from etrailer, and I'm with Dan. And Dan recently had his new truck in. He got airbags installed. And you also have an in-bed camper, probably why you have the airbags. Yes.
And so you've towed with an in-bed camper before with a previous truck, correct Yep. I have a 1996 GMC diesel. And I've carried this all over the place, up through the Smoky Mountains, and had a really good time with it. Had a blast. I got a 2000 model Lance Camper, and it's put on a 2025 Chevy 3,500.
I needed to upgrade from a 2,500 to a 3,500. So this thing will carry around. So on your previous Dually that you had, you didn't have the TorkLift tie downs I did not. I had them mounted onto the bumper to tie down to, and also at the beginning of the bed. Now with this, it's all custom fit.
And you went with the aluminum versions, right Yes, I went with the aluminum, because the aluminum, they're pretty sturdy, and I didn't want the metal to rust if I ever take this thing out in the snow and salt and everything. Are there advantages to the TorkLift over kind of the old style that you had it hooked up When I take the TorkLifts out, I can put 'em away and you won't even see that they're attached to the truck. I like to tuck things farther away so I don't bang my leg. Yeah, and you can kind of go back, you can pull those out, and it goes back to that OEM clean look. You have no idea they're even there until you're ready to hook up.
Right. So anything that you would recommend for anyone that has an in bed camper Any, you know, tips, tricks, for in-bed camper driving that you have, you know, over your years I got the tie downs here. I did install these, put 'em in there. And I extended the rods by using all thread rods. Make sure you get the good all thread rods, 'cause some of 'em we inchesre kinda loose when you put 'em in there. And then, yeah. I mean, they are really, really handy. My '96, when I'm driving down the road, it would sway back and forth. And with the Silverado 3,500, I got the airbags in there and the wiring all set up. And it just doesn't move or nothing. It just runs right on down the road. And with the diesel 10 speed transmission, shoot, I just, it just goes. Brad Yeah. Dan It's like it's not even back there. Yeah, and with tying these down, you know, a lot of times people wonder how does it stay in place. And especially, you know, if you're going to kind of mountainous areas or whatever and you're getting ups and downs or hitting bumps, it does have that potential to move. But that's why you have turn buckles. You crank those down, it's gonna keep it all in place. But the big thing is, you know, having a good attachment point. So did you ever have clearance issues with your other one when you hooked it up As far as where the turn buckle's attached, did you have any issues making contact The only issue I would have is if I hooked it on here wrong. Like if I came from the other direction, or this way, I'd have to try to swing it over. Better to unhook the bottom before you unhook the top. Yeah. If you haven't looked at the TorkLift mounting points, these are great. They are custom fit to your vehicle. So it's crucial that you use our fit guide to get the proper trim and model of your truck. Because they're, you know, these aren't gonna work on a Ford. You'd have to get the Ford-specific. But that's what makes these great. They're perfectly set up, you know, as he was saying is once they're out, it goes back to a clean OEM look. They sit proper, they're designed for this, and TorkLift really covers all of the connecting parts to be able to get your in-bed camper to work with your truck. So Dan, thank you so much. I really appreciate it. Great talking to you. You're welcome. Excited to get the brush guard on here and get you out on the road and enjoying it. I need to do some camping. (laughs) That's right, yeah. Hey, summer's coming. Have a good time. Thank you. Thank you very much, appreciate it.

Hi Jim! I can see why that would be frustrating for sure. The good news is you usually don’t have to do anything drasticmost fixes come down to slightly repositioning the exhaust system rather than fully relocating it. That can mean loosening and adjusting a bolt-on hanger, adding a small spacer, or even tweaking the hanger position just enough to create some clearance. I’ll drop this article here since it walks through a few simple ways to fix it step-by-step, but overall you’re on the right track it’s typically just a matter of giving the exhaust a little more room so nothing is rubbing or under tension. This help article is about a hitch install but it still applies here.

Glad to hear you are liking them, Milton! And I agree, the TorkLift tie downs are superior to the HappiJac tie downs. They are just more secure and heavier duty. At least in my opinion. And that sounds like quite the trip! Was it just a camping trip or did you do some fishing and or hunting?

I reached out to the manufacturer. They advised that they think it is a combination of the Northern light camper anchor point location being situated so far back on the camper and possibly the front of the camper not being all the way against the bulkhead of the bed if it is moving forward still. Otherwise, everything looks typical of a truck camper and truck installation. If it has any room to slide forward, it will in a sudden braking situation.

Jenny thanks for your reply and diligence in reaching out to TorkFit. The NL camper does have forward bumpers for abutting the bulkhead. However when bulkhead contact is made the body of the my 21 Silverado makes contact with the fiberglass body of the camper. The pressure from a recent ‘sudden stop’ and ‘slide forward’ created enough pressure to chip paint on the truck. The bumpers make contact with the bulkhead about 10”-12” above the bed-bulkhead connection. The 90* corner at bottom, this should be the strongest area. I will install stop chocks at future loadings. I’ll also attempt to possibly install the TorkFits in a more vertical position. Thanks.

A year later, I just got back from camping trip. I love the easy set up of these hitches. I’m a 65 year old woman, and I can put these mounts on my truck in less than five minutes. Then, another 10 or 15 to put the chains and turn buckles on, make them tight. I usually drive about 5 miles maybe 10, go get gas, and give all the chains a shake to make sure they’re still tight. If not, spin the turnbuckles a time or Two. And off, I go. I am extremely happy with this investment. Of all the things I bought after buying the camper, this has brought me the most security and feeling of safety. Good luck, happy camping whatever you decide.

Couldnt ask for anything better. I am using them on a regular basis. When not in use I remove, clean and store them in my garage. No rust issues and the brackets attached to the truck are just as solid as when I first torqued them to the trucks frame. I definitely recommend them to anyone looking for proper camper tie-downs. PS: Their customer service, as always, I outstanding!
Condition: Surface Scratches
Notes: Item has minor cosmetic scratches.

These tie downs are sill working as advertised. I have travelled over 20,000 mi with them in various conditions with about 10 of that time in dirt roads or 4wd roads. Nothing too crazy, but with my camper and these tied downs I am confident that the camper will remain attached and be secure. It hardly moves around at all. They are worth the money and I can still remember how easily they installedvery welll thought out design and installation!
