Today we're going to take a quick look at the DeeZee tailgate assist custom tailgate lowering system for your pickup trucks.This is going to attach to your pickup truck's tailgate. It's going to allow it to lower at a much more gradual pace, so you're not going to have to worry about it slamming down against your bumper, potentially hitting you or others around or causing any sort of damage to your tailgate or anything like that. It does have a shock absorber in it, so that it's going to just make that tailgate lower much more gradually and smoothly.It has been extensively tested to make sure that it's going to hold up well. We know how often your tailgate gets used when you're using a pickup truck, so they wanted to make sure that this would stand up to all that rigor.
It is custom fit for your 2019 and newer Ford Ranger pickup trucks. The brackets here are going to be a custom fit to ensure that it's very easy to get them installed. They do include the instructions which take you step by step, how to get this all installed, but it's very easy to do. Basically just backing out some of the bolts that are currently on your tailgate and replacing them with these. When you get up to your truck bed, it will require you to reuse one of the bolts that's there.
But overall very easy to do.They give you the instructions, so it's definitely something I think you could probably handle within about a half hour or so. It's not going to take you much time at all. You're not going to have to drill any new holes or anything. It's going to use all of the holes that are already in your truck bed.This does come with a three year limited warranty from DeeZee. It's nice to know that they stand behind their products, and overall I just think this is going to be a great option for those of you who are worried about your tailgate falling open, maybe hitting grandkids or shopping cards or anything that you're accustomed to being around when you're lowering that tailgate.
I think it's going to be a great option to increase the safety for you. You really only need the one. It's going to hold the whole weight of the tailgate as it lowers. This is for the driver's side, so you will be installing it there on the driver's side. But you only need the one that will do it for you.That's going to complete our look at the DeeZee tailgate assist.
