The Pro Series system combines everything you need in a set of transom straps - strength, security and safety. These heavy-duty straps secure your boat's stern to your trailer and make the trailer more visible at night. 1,200 lbs Max load.

Features:

  • Heavy-duty tie-down straps firmly secure your boat's transom (stern) to your trailer
  • SUR-Grip rubber-coated Kwik-Lok buckle is easy to grip and control with one hand
  • Seat-belt-quality polyester webbing
  • Hi-Vis protective PVC pads under the buckle and vinyl-coated steel top S-hooks protect your boat's paint finish
  • Zinc-coated hook attaches to trailer and withstands the elements
  • Night Eyes closure patch on buckle reflects light, adding to your safety at night

Specs:

  • Strap dimensions: 2" wide x 4' long
  • Maximum load strength (break strength): 1,200 lbs
  • Safe working load limit (WLL): 400 lbs
  • Quantity: 2 transom straps
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Load your boat onto your trailer, open the buckle, connect the bottom S-hook of the Pro Series strap to the back end of your trailer's frame, then connect the vinyl-coated top S-hook to the loop on the stern of the boat. Pull the end of the strap through its buckle and turn the buckle down to tighten the strap.

Note: Transom tie-downs should always be used along with a winch strap and a set of gunwale tie-downs. All straps and cables should be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). To determine the maximum load, or break strength, of the strap, simply multiply the WLL by 3. The WLL is always one-third (1/3) of the maximum load.

  • How to Route the Strap of the BoatBuckle Pro Series Kwik-Lok Transom Tie-Down Straps # IMF17632
It sounds like you are trying to determine how to run the strap of the BoatBuckle Pro Series Kwik-Lok Transom Tie-Down Straps # IMF17632 through the buckle. If so, check out the picture I attached that shows how it is done. The installation instructions link I attached to the right also has the same picture.

  • Length of BoatBuckle Pro Series Kwik-Lok Transom Tie-Down # IMF17631
The BoatBuckle Pro Series Kwik-Lok Transom Tie-Down Straps # IMF17631 referenced in your question feature an overall length of 2 feet, which is measured from the inside of one hook to the inside of the other. There may be an inch or so tolerance but if you are needing any more than 2 feet your best option will really be with the 4 foot Transom Tie-Down Straps # IMF17632 that you also mentioned. These straps do feature a hook and loop patch that is designed to secure and collect any excess...

  • Recommended Transom Straps For 4,500 lb Combined Boat And Trailer Weight
For your boat and trailer weighing 4500 lbs combined, I recommend the BoatBuckle Pro Series Kwik-Lok Transom Tie-Down Straps - 2" x 4' - 400 lbs - Qty 2 # IMF17632. These straps are more than enough to ensure that your boat will stay held tightly to your trailer. It has seat belt quality polyester webbing, vinyl coating over zinc coated hooks, and Hi-Vis protective pads under the buckle to protect your boat.

  • Recommended Stainless Steel Boat Transom Tie-Down Straps
I spoke with my contact at BoatBuckle and they told me that the metal components on the BoatBuckle Pro Series Kwik-Lok Transom Tie-Down Straps, part # IMF17632, are made of steel but they are not stainless. They told me the hook that attaches to the trailer on this system is zinc-coated for corrosion resistance, and the S-hooks are vinyl-coated to protect your boat finish. We do offer straps that use stainless steel. Part # IMF14256, uses a stainless steel body that resists rust and...

  • Can BoatBuckle Pro Series Tie-Down Straps # IMF17631 Be Adjusted For Less Than 24 Inches
The BoatBuckle Pro Series Tie-Down Straps, part # IMF17631, have a maximum tie-down length of 24 inches. The straps can be tightened down to a length less than 24 inches. You should have no problem using them if you have a tie-down length of 22 inches. It will not leave much excess strap. I would also look at the BoatBuckle Pro Series Tie-Down Straps, part # IMF17632. These straps have a maximum tie-down length of 48 inches and can be tightened down to 22 inches, but will leave you with...

  • Rating of BoatBuckle Transom Tie-Down Straps # IMF17632
The BoatBuckle Kwik-Lok Transom Tie Down Straps you mention, part # IMF17632 have a 1200 lb breaking strength, 400 working load limit (WLL) per strap. When determining the straps needed to secure a load of a certain weight, use the WLL figure. With the BoatBuckle straps you mentioned, the two straps will safely secure a load weighing 800 lbs (400 lbs per strap). Tie-down straps should always be chosen according to their WLL. The item being tied down must not exceed this weight. If the...
