Michael: Hi, there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the Taylor Made Skier Down Boat Flag. This is a nice bright orange flag that is going to notify other boaters that you have a skier in the water, to make sure that everyone knows what's going on, so that you can be safe, have a good time while you're out there on the water. This flag is right at, I'd say it's about 13 and a quarter of an inch tall by just over 12 inches, so about 12 and an eighth of an inch wide. This is mounted onto a wooden rod here.
Wooden rod is right at 18 inches. Probably hard for you to see that other end there, but right about 18 inches in overall length. Now this flag is pre-mounted onto the wooden rod. So you just have to attach it to your boat's deck.I'm not going to lie to you. I think they could have done a better job of getting this attached.
Mine has already come loose. That glue has broken free. So I would probably put a few staples in here or something to make sure that would stay in place. But overall, this really isn't a super high quality product. It's just going to be a symbol to let other boaters know that there's a diver or a skier in the water.
So it doesn't have to be super high quality. It'll get the job done. So if you are looking for just a simple way of making sure that your skiers are going to be safe while you're out on the water, I'd say this is going to be a good option for you.This material is a plastic-y material, so it shouldn't be damaged by water even if you're out on the ocean, salt water won't harm it or anything. The wooden rod, obviously, wood can swell and that sort of thing. So if you have something else, you might want to mount the flag on that instead, but I think it will do a good job for you in the long run.
Just give you something to hold the flag up with. So overall, not a super high quality item, but one that will get the job done, so that you can make sure that everyone in the water is going to be safe. That's going to complete our look for today.
