Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.Com. Today we're taking a look at the Taylor Made Low Freeboard Boat Fender. This is designed specifically for your bass boats, your bay boats, and your low freeboard boats. Basically any of your boats that when they're sitting against the dock, they're sitting a little bit lower in the water, and so a normal fender is not going to protect them as much from contact with the dock, because you're gunnel might be right on the bottom edge of the dock, so it could go underneath and make contact there potentially causing damage. That's what this is designed for.
So not only is it going to protect the side of your boat, but it's also going to have this piece that goes up and over your gunnel so that it will protect the top side as well.It can be tied to the cleat in order to make it a little bit higher, depending on where you need it for maximum protection. We do have the 11/16" diameter eyelet here, that we can tie a rope through, and then tied to the cleat, hold it in position. This is made of a high quality marine grade vinyl, so you're not going to have to worry about it easily springing a leak or anything like that. The description measurements say it's about 5". I would say it's actually a little bit closer at about 5.5, and the description says it's about 14".
I'm going to say according to my measurements, it's a little bit closer to 15, but of course, some of those measurements do depend on how inflated you have this. The inflation valve is integrated so you're not going to have to worry about the glue springing a leak or anything like that. It's going to hold up well for you. It is basically just a simple needle valve here so you can use a your sports equipment pump to air that up, or there are Taylor Made options for that as well. You can see we have a ribbing here on the side to help reduce the amount of rolling when it's between our boat and the dock. This is the high-gloss white option.
We also have a metallic black option. If you're interested in that, you can find that here at etrailer using part number 36931006. It's going to be the same dimensions, same quality, just in black. This is made here in the U.S.A. And that is going to complete our look at the Taylor Made Low Freeboard Boat Fender..

Great. No issues, does what it is supposed to do!!
The gunnels sit low on my boat. The position of the cleat make it difficult for a regular bumper to protect the boat. These work great.
Quick turn around time ! Everything!

Perfect for my 16/17 /Boston Whaler, I wish this was in a 12inch version as space is a premium in low gunwale boat.
