Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes - Proportional
I mounted this in a 2014 Chevy Spark. Finding a spot for the main control unit was interesting, but I found a video for a 2017 Spark that I could use. I did have to drill an extra hole in the mounting flange and car. I haven't taken it on a trip as of this time, but a tow around the block indicated it was working. One note, watch about placing the LED indicator behind the tinted part of the toad window. It makes it harder to see from the camper camera.
great kit for installing a supplemental braking system in my 2019 jeep wrangler. It takes several hours to install, but if you follow the instructions and watch the video, it's a pretty straight forward install. Just think it through and plan where you'll route the wiring and hoses. The hardest part was being flexable enough to mount the hardware to the firewall behind the brake pedal, but that's not a fault of the system.

Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles
Evidently Roadmaster had made some slight alterations from the depiction, for the better. The fuse wiring was a spade end with two fuse holders built in. The holder closest to the spades was for the original circuit and the other for the new circuit. This was very handy. I had watched the installation video and thought it would be fairly easy; therefore I attached the terminals to the green, black, and white wires before even going to the CR-V. I did however purchase different spade connectors as I thought I may want to remove the brake relay switch in the future for another vehicle should I trade. Also the yellow connector is quite large and the video showed bending the wire over itself so that it would hold on the smaller wires. This was a wise decision. What was the problem was the wiring in my CR-V. The video showed similar size wiring from the brake switch. What I found was smaller wire, loomed very close to the brake switch. Evidently Honda had made some modifications. I believe the wire was 22 gauge and there was no real way the blue or yellow connectors would have worked. That said, after disconnecting from the switch, stripping the loom back to get some exposed wiring, cutting and using the 22-16 gauge connectors, drilling a hole for the ground screw, etc. the switch worked perfectly. I did vary the fuse location from the 7.5 Amp #29 Occupant Detection System (ODS) to the 15 Amp #28 Washer as I figured it would less likely interfere with any operation.
Brake light has worked perfectly. No issues. Very reassuring for me as the driver to be able to see in the Motorhome's rearview camera when the F150 is braking.

Roadmaster InvisiBrake Flat Tow Brake System - Preset
My Invisibrake system works excellent. I t was easy to install for anyone with a little mecanical ability. Love it
The InvisiBrake system vacuum pump was too weak and slow to respond . I installed an external vacuum pump from Summit Racing which maintains 22"of vacuum on the brake chamber at all times ,the same as when the Ram engine is running . I installed an isolation valve on the Ram manifold vacuum line and a momentary test switch in the Ram to simulate the coach brake lights being on . That way I can take the Ram for a drive and set up the brakes as they should be.

Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Air Brakes - Proportional
I purchased this as part of a package which included; Hitch and wiring for my 2022 Equinox, Base plate, Tow Bar, brake System and connecting air hose, break away cables, LED tow lights with wiring harness, and a trickle charger to keep the Equinox battery from going dead while I was towing it behind my class A RV. I had etrailer do the install of all the components on my car and RV. All the workmanship was excellent and done in the amount of time they said it would take. Also because they did not have a video of this equipment being put on this year and model vehicle, I gave them permission to make a video(which added a extra day and a half to the install)and the installation was free. Everything has worked perfectly and I couldn't be happier. Etrailer is my go to for anything towing and also RV parts.
The Air Force one was not an easy install for me because I’m old and I don’t get around like I used to but it was not impossible. However, in my opinion, it is the best supplemental braking system for flat towing. The best part about it is my Allegro Bus came with the system already installed on the coach and once you install it on your towed vehicle you don’t have to deal with any of that to get on the road. If it takes me more than ten minutes to hook everything up and get in the coach ready to drive away then I've done something wrong.

Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Flat Tow Brake System - Proportional
Plug keeps getting loose on unit. I drilled a hole in the case and installed a tie wrap attaching wire to case no more movement of plug works great otherwise
If you’re installing in a 2 door Jeep this brake buddy will install much easier if you 1. Remove floor mat 2. Set the driver seat all the way back towards the rear and 3. Lower the driver seat all the way down. By doing this the brake buddy will fit properly and allow for installing the cotter pin into the cleaver.

Roadmaster BrakeMaster for RVs w/ Air or Air-Over-Hydraulic Brakes - Proportional
The install on my Ford Maverick is clean and functional, so this is more of a customer service review... excellent customer service! During the 4-day towing set-up install, the forecast was for freezing temps and my rig was not winterized. I called in mid panic and the motorhome was moved indoors. A few months after using the tow set-up, a minor problem developed. I called and the CSR apologized and said, I can see how that might be frustrating, and a replacement cable (slightly longer) was sent free of charge.
This braking system does what it's suppose to do, smooth proportional braking between motorhome air brakes and the tow vehicle. The only reason I did not rate at 5 stars is that there is a slight misalignment of air cylinder mounting bracket and 2022 Jeep Gladiator brake pedal.

Brake Buddy Classic 3 Portable Flat Tow Brake System - Preset
We have used Brake Buddy for 3 trips. It is a bit cumbersome to install but within reach for a handy DIY. Once the wiring is in place it is straight-forward to use. Getting the clip on the brake pedal each time is awkward, but after that it is fast and easy to use. I like the adjustment on the amount of braking assist, and you can see when it is triggered with the RV remote. I would probably buy it again.
I purchased this BB Classic 3 in October 2020 after my old BB Classic that I purchased in 2008 failed to hold pressure for the piston. I bought this for my 2017 Jeep Wrangler but due to (1) the depth and unevenness of the driver's floor board, (2) the seat adjustment bar prevents BB Classic 3 from pushing against the seat and (3) the adjustable legs are not long enough to reach the seat and brake pedal properly, the BB Classic 3 fails the auto start test every time due to not being able to level. I talked to Hopkins MFG techs several times trying to resolve the issue (wiring checks, power cord checks, etc.) but to no avail. This situation makes the BB Classic 3 dangerous to have in service because not being level it will think something is wrong and keeps the brake applied (piston will not retract after applying the brake). So after talking to other Jeep Wrangler owners I determined that a platform was needed for the floor board on which the BB Classic 3 could rest. I constructed a platform that was approximately 3" off the floor board and rested on the floor board under the seat and on risers toward the brake pedal. This platform is level on the floor board both length-wise and width-wise. After placing the BB Classic 3 on the platform with clevis and power cord installed and legs in the lowest position, I tested the auto start and had 8 successful tests in a row!!! Also the brake away test was successful too. I still need to make a short drive test while in tow behind the motorhome. Hopkins really needs to advise customers that the Classic 3 will not work properly as is on a 2017 Jeep Wrangler due to the configuration of the driver's side floor board.

Brake Buddy Stealth Supplemental Braking System - Proportional
I am a proficient DIYer (and was an auto mechanic many years ago). The installation took a lot of time - perhaps 8-10 hours for the brake controller. The most special tool needed was a rotary cutter (e.g., a Dremel tool). A cordless impact driver was also very helpful, especially with the self tapping screws. Getting the pully in the perfect position under the brake pedal took some trial-and-error to get perfect. Also, the included bolts for the brake pedal bracket where too short to accommodate the width of the brake lever - easily remedied with slightly longer standard bolts. Be very mindful of what is on the other side of the sheet metal you are planning to drill into. The brake supplemental vacuum system was a bit of a challenge, as the instructions are very vague regarding how to mount, and the space I had to work with was surprisingly tight. I ended up creating a mount on the inside front fender, and bolting the pump to that. Also, tapping into the vacuum lines took a couple of tries to get a leak-free connection. Think ahead about this, and be prepared to get a few small parts like hose clamps or right-angle hose connectors. This would be a potential consideration for any vacuum boost added on any vacuum power-assist application with any controller. I mounted the Brakebuddy main unit under the rear seat - that was a perfect location, and much better than the often suggested location under the driver's seat. I was very pleased with the installation result. I paired this with a Nighthawk tow bar. Be warned that the tow bar's included cable will not be compatible with the Stealth, as the Brakebuddy uses a proprietary connection at the towed vehicle. The upside of this proprietary connector is that all connections are build in, including the brake away cable and the battery charging line. (I modified the Nighthawk by replacing the included cable with a 4-pin cable to power the lighting system on the bar. This is just for extra safety and cool looks - I could have just not used the tow bar's included cable). With 1,200 miles of towing behind us, I can say I am very pleased with the performance. I rarely notice any difference in braking effort or effectiveness - which is a big advantage for a proportional system. My favorite feature is the ease and speed of connecting or disconnecting the towed vehicle. I'd give this a 4.5 stars out of five if I could, because I did need to add a few parts and make a couple trips to the hardware store to complete the installation. However, the excellent performance and ease of use once installed more than makes up for the inconvenience during initial installation. Special appreciation to the people at eTrailer, especially Nicole T, who provided support and guidance from pre-sales to installation. Also, I called Brakebuddy's support line with a concern, and they immediately picked up the line, addressed my question, and offered to immediately ship any parts if needed.
System requires constant monitoring The plug in system has pins that mate with the rv cord. The pins on the plug are breaking, causing the brakes to apply often while driving the towed vehicle. The fuse has to be pulled to avoid uncontrolled breaking. I am going to create another plug to replace the original.

Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Braking System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes - Wireless Monitor - Proportional
Upgraded from RVi3 system which was a portable unit and operated solely on inertia which in my experience only worked on moderate to hard braking. This system being a dual system works even with mild braking. I'm very happy with it. Installation took me several partial days (60+ yr old, moderate mechanical skills). The videos are very helpful and had one for my exact 2020 Jeep Wrangler. Installation is easy but access under the dash to install the air cylinder and a roadmaster brake switch is awkward and difficult. My biggest fear was the access there and cutting the vacuum line. The vacuum line turned out to be very easy. I had to adjust my brake light switch after installation when I tested the system. Everything is adjusted properly now and works as I hoped.
I installed this system in a 2023 2 door Wrangler. I also used an etrailer base plate and etrailer tow bar. I had originally purchased a Demco Delta Force Braking System. However, with the shape of the floor in the Jeep I was unable to use this unit. There are various places to install the stay n play duo in the Wrangler and the etrailer installation videos show this. I elected to install mine under the drivers seat as I wanted to keep it out of the elements. I fabricated a sheet metal bracket to mount it on that allows the rear seat heater duct to function unimpeded. Once installed the unit is out of sight and very simple to use. Just a flip of the toggle switch and its ready. I only needed to make a few adjustments to have it brake the way jeep the way I wanted. This is also a very simple procedure. I highly recommend this unit and appreciate all of the information etrailer has on their site to aid in the procurement and installation of their products.

RoadMaster Stop Light Switch Kit
Thanks to a review I was aware I might have to grind out part of bracket to get it to fit. I did have to. Roadmaster said it wasn't necessary . I think they have to update the bracket for the newer models. Etrailer was more helpful than Roadmaster.
The towing package I purchased from etrailer has made all the difference in our RV trips. My jeep wrangler can go everywhere we go, easy to hook up and thanks to the invisa brake no strain on the RV brakes. Full system required a mechanic to install but all in all very happy..

Roadmaster BrakeMaster for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes - Proportional
Kit fits great! Hooked up a 2004 Workhorse to a 2002 Jeep Liberty. It might be preferable to be handy with some advanced mechanical skills and tools to install this efficiently. Directions are great but you do need to figure out your own locations for certain items like the break-away reservoir, compressor, routing lines and wires out of harms way, but not bad at all. Parts are great, everything there but added a couple different wiring splices of my own.
Your customer service leaves nothing lacking, and this follow-up from you is so out of character for the many web sites I have purchased from over the years. I am impressed by you and your company. I bought the tow bar and the brake system for my Equinox, and installed them my self (I am 70 years old) - and with your provided instructions and video, I had no problems (even though I was surprised by the number of parts and detail that went into the assemblies). Both systems have worked very well, with no problems. I am completely satisfied with them, and have told my friends and traveling acquaintances about your company. Thanks for your follow-up!

Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Air Brakes - Wireless Monitoring - Proportional
Overall a great system, there are some intricacies to the install as it pertains to old instructions with LED light in the TOAD vs. CoachLink Wireless and also the 3 wire reed switch vs. the newer 2 wire one. But using the provided written instructions along with YouTube videos you can figure it out. My other challenge was my Jeep is a 392 model and thus the battery and fuse box are in swapped locations, as well as a different VAC line layout, but again you can figure it out…just takes some time to study and trace the routing. My only real complaint was ordering, I was quoted the wrong system for my RV (Stay and Play) vs. AF1 since I DO have air brakes. etrailer was helpful in getting the return process but wants to charge me the shipping and possibly restock fee, I am working with them on this and hope to get a good resolution.
We have put over 10k miles on this system. Everything has worked perfectly. A job very well done by Etrailer. Thank you!!

Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit
Works great fairly easy install. It has been in use for the last 8 month's with no issues. Here may be some helpful hints that I found when installing. Use 10-12" long extension for 13mm nut (left side of opening panel that was removed). Install bracket. Adjust plunger & backing nut by feel. Remove bracket. Install switch with ring washer & nut. Crimp red & green wires on switch wires. Reinstall bracket under dash.
Thanks everyone at etrailer for your help and quick response and shipping! My project turned out really great as you can see in the pictures I have included. The plug for the removable holders I 3D printed. Thanks Fred

Blue Ox Patriot Portable Flat Tow Brake System - Proportional
Quick and easy to install and remove At first it was a little cranky but go used to it’s needed placement Still learning a bit ! This unit will come in play if there is a hitch failure Not used for additional braking Car is only 2200 lbs and don’t want the brakes locking Emergency cable to emergency switch originate at a new installed frame mount in case of total hitch failure DOT was impressed Like the unit made fulfillment of required braking very simple Thank you etrailer for your guidance
It’s amazing how it works. We did a 6,000 mile trip never ever using something like this and it worked great did lose Bluetooth connection one time but pulled over and reset it. I ended up placing rolled up bath towels on both sides of it to help keep it from moving on the floor of the jeep. Great product and you don’t have to tamper with your factory car wiring.

Roadmaster Universal Stop Light Switch Kit
Solved my problem for a brake switch signal on my Bronco while installing the Ready Brute Elite 2 flat tow system. I really needed the little LED indicator on the motorhome dash to let me know when the brakes were being applied. Gives me piece of mind! Also was an easy install. Thanks.
It is my opinion that the universal brake light switch is the easy way to go. Hardest part doing the DIY way is the place you are working in. I.have a few sore spots trying to get underneath the steering wheel. The benefit is you have instant info that the switch works. A light comes on when you push the break pedal

Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System for 2020 and Newer Tiffin Chassis RVs w/Factory Air Brakes
Towing a 2020 F250SD with powerstroke. The Blue Ox Patriot 3 just would not press the petal enough. This applies the breaks well. Had to mount the box behind grill due to no room under hood. Used some copper wire to make sure it stayed in place. Had to cut a bit of the plastic cover over radiator. One thing did that was a little off the instructions is I did not run power into cab with air hose. I took power off my charging coach-> Toad charging circuit because it was under the bumper. For the reed switch I ran a wire to passenger side fuse box and used a fuse tap. Every thing else was pretty easy. I am pretty handy and have all tools needed. I installed in about 6 hr.
This system along with installation videos and info was exactly what I needed. I thank Alex J. for all the help making sure I had everything needed for my specific 2009 Wrangler. Systems, accessories, and installation vary by year and Jeep mods, Alex went above and beyond to make sure every part of this install worked for my specific rig setup and vehicle.

Before we get into that though, let's just take a minute, we'll check this out and hopefully help you figure out if this is something you're even gonna need. So with the Stop Light switch, you know the reason you might need it is twofold, really. One of 'em being, when you're setting up a flat tow or to be able to pull your Jeep behind your motor home, it's probably the most popular reason, and that's the reason that we used ours here today. And another reason would be if you're trying to install a trailer brake controller in your Wrangler, and it's not equipped with a factory tow package.

Installing the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit on your 2021 Jeep Wrangler
Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2021 Jeep Wrangler, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit. Before we do that though, let's talk about what it actually does and if you're gonna need to use it or not. So the stoplight switch is a small component, but an important one, and it's really going to be needed with only a handful of different supplemental braking systems, at least right off the top of my head that I can think of. And if your braking system uses an indicator light, then chances are really good, you're gonna need this kit or want to use it rather. And those systems that I can think of are the Roadmaster Invisibrake, the Demco Stay-In-Play Duo, as well as the Stay-In-Play Duo with the wireless coaching and that's what we have here today.

Before we get into that though, let's take a moment, check it out and make sure it's gonna work for you. Before we jump right in, I figured it'd be beneficial just to touch base on probably the most asked question when it comes to setting up a flat tow, and that's what are the main parts I'm gonna need So you're gonna have a total of five. Your base plate, which provides us with an attachment point to hook our tow bar up to it. Tow bar connects the front of your vehicle to the back of your coach.
Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Braking System Installation - 2021 Jeep Wrangler
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO proportional braking System on a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. There's five main components when flat towing a vehicle and starting on the vehicle side you're gonna have the base plate and that's gonna attach to the frame or the structural support of the vehicle allowing an attachment point not only for our towbar but for all the rest of our components. And that leads us to the towbar which is gonna be the connection point between that base plate and the hitch on the RV. Now also attached to the base plate is gonna be where our safety cables go and that's just gonna make sure in case of a disconnect we're still attached to our RV. We also have our diode wiring which is gonna transmit the light signals from the RV to the towed vehicle, including your running lights, brake lights and turn signals and that way people behind you know what you're doing. You also have your supplemental braking system and that way the vehicle slows and stops when you apply the brakes on the RV.
Mount: Roadmaster InvisiBrake Flat Tow Brake System on a 2021 Jeep Wrangler
Hello, neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer. And today, we're taking a look and installing the Roadmaster InvisiBrake proportional braking system for a flat tow setup on a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The InvisiBrake gets its name from the fact that a lot of it can be hidden once it's installed, and that's accomplished by actually mounting the module box that creates that vacuum underneath the seat. And this should give you plenty of clearance to where it's not gonna cause any issues. It's then run to a cylinder, which runs to a cable and pulley system, which will slow and stop the vehicle when brakes are applied or when your breakaway switch is pulled.

Now but in the case that there's a supplemental braking system in our Jeep when it's being flat towed and we hit the brakes on our motor home, which will activate the brakes inside our Jeep.
