Most Popular Bike and Hitch Lock for 2016 Subaru WRX

I just installed this on Friday and we used it for a short trip to the bike shop. So far, it is not bad. I had to laugh; Yakima applied their logo upside-down! I read the directions at least 3x to be sure I didn't have them reversed...I did it right. The directions also show a logo on both, upper & lower rack. I guess they wanted to save some $$ ? Assembly was easy with just three steps. The hitch has a lock to lock it to the car, which is great, but the cover won't stay on. It takes 2 hands, one to hold the lock in place and the other to try to put the cover over the lock. It just pops off the second you release pressure. I will try again in warmer weather, then tape it on so hopefully it will mold to the lock and eventually stay put without the tape. I am not convinced of the stability of the bikes, really. Going over bumps they do shake. For safety, we are going to add straps from the luggage rack and through the bikes, just in case. I really like the cable locks to secure the bikes to the rack. With our old rack there really wasn't a way to lock the bikes to the rack, and I always worried when we were traveling and stopped for food.

This bike rack has worked well for our family of 4. It allows us to safely and securely carry all 4 bikes through the mountains of Colorado with our Hallmark Milner truck camper. Strong and durable rack that barely moves when driving. etrailer's customer service was outstanding. The rack was initially delayed and after one phone call to check status a warehouse manager quickly solved a minor issue and got the rack shipped. etrailer was fantastic in managing this transaction with extremely limited staffing. etrailer is the first place I check for anything recreation as I've never had anything but stellar service.

Excellent rack, a year later still in great condition. No movement at hitch when driving like other racks. Love the extra bar to work on bike in parking lot. Cracked a part on the rack when backing up accidentally hit it, I called the company and they immediately sent out new part no questions asked and rack is like new. Easy to access the drop and raise bar even with bikes on .A note that with larger mountain bikes only three really fit on the four rack without adjusting handle bars. I am very happy with my purchase!!! It all began with a pleasant experience contacting Etrailer to confirm that the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 would work with my Class 1 1-1/4" hitch on my 2011 Honda CRV. Roger answered my questions and assisted me with placing my order. I ordered on a Monday and I received it on Thursday in California! It did take me about 2 hours to assemble because I initially tried to follow the written instructions that were in the box. I remembered that several reviewers said that they recommend that you follow the You Tube videos for the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 assembly instructions. Once I followed the videos the assembly was a snap! The bike rack is very sturdy despite weighing in at 35 lbs. I am a 60 year old relatively athletic female and have no problem attaching the bike rack to my hitch! Here's hoping the bike rack holds up for years to come!

Works for my fat tire bike. Once it's set up, it's easy to install and remove. I had to cut out some of the plastic cladding on the underside of my bumper on my 2014 Subaru Outback. Good value. I've had no issues.

Thanks to etrailer’s excellent information, I managed to find a bike rack that would carry 2 e-bikes and work with my existing class I 1-1/4 in receiver. I had the added challenge that I carry the bikes on a car that I tow behind my RV, so it needed to be rated for a tow vehicle. The Saris Superclamp EX met all my criteria, and for a reasonable price. I was also happy to find that it’s made in the USA. Install was fairly easy, couple of minor hiccup’s as I figured out the drawings, which, to be honest, weren’t entirely clear. But it’s pretty intuitive, so just added an extra minute or two, and probably wouldn’t phase the more mechanically minded. I’m a somewhat out of shape 50’s female, and I don’t have any trouble moving the rack around, it’s a nice weight and fairly compact when collapsed. It’s very easy to access the hatch when the bikes are not mounted. Haven’t tried it with bikes on yet. Once installed, it is rock solid. Loading my 45ish lb bike (with battery removed) is doable. In a perfect world it would have a ramp, but given my other criteria were met, I’m happy to do without the ramp. The rack seems like it holds the bike firmly during transport so overall, I’m extremely happy with my purchase. Also, there wasn’t a ton of unnecessary packaging to get rid of, but things were well protected in shipment. Customer service from etrailer is stellar as well, they helped quickly with a minor issue. Love this rack and use it every day on my Toyota Tundra pickup. I ride my cruiser on the beach and loading/unloading bike/s is really easy. I travel to riding locations as well and even at highway speeds, two bikes remain secure and wobble-free. My bikes are expensive and the stand-up mode of securing them means no worn paint or scratches. If any complaint it's not made for the salty air here in FL and certain parts corrode...even with daily rinsing off. The rack is perfect for the fat and oversized wheels on bikes I've owned...even heavier ebikes...WILL BUY IT AGAIN.

Arrived very quickly and in good condition. Working with etrailer was great - they are on the ball, unlike some other retailers. The product was as expected, although I took off a point for really poor instructions. If Kuat had just taken a little bit of time to provide more details, it would make the job so much quicker. I haven't yet tested the rack with bikes, but is installed and all the bits seem to work as promised. One point thatI don't like is that the locking pin that attaches the unit to the hitch is really long and doesn't have anything that would keep if from rattling. I put in my own rubber spacer to hopefully eliminate any rattles, but it seems like adding a couple rubber washers to the kit to help prevent rattles would be an easy and inexpensive solution.

This bike rack is awesome! It is incredibly easy to use for one person and holds our bikes very securely. I highly recommend it for it's convenience and reliability. The cable locking feature is an added bonus but I would like to see a heavier cable used; one that has higher cut resistance. Overall, I am very happy with this rack and would purchase again.

We love this bike rack for its ease of use and solid construction. Bikes are quick and easy to load in and lock down tight. The hitch-receiver tightening system works great for a wobble-free rack and the hinge and locking lever work smooth and solid. It looks nice too.

We have two electric bikes which fit on it perfectly. Very easy to operate and hook up to our Rivian R1S. Highly recommend it!

As someone with extensive manufacturing experience, I can say this is a sturdy and robust product that will work well for anyone who can follow directions and mount bikes correctly on it. Having said that, there are a few items people should be aware of that can cause users some issues. The included “ramp” is not tall enough to work with a standard size pick up’s trailer hitch. I have a dodge ram 1500 series and the rack sits way too high when mounted on the truck hitch for the ramp to even touch the ground. If you plan on using a standard size pick up or a suburban or Denali type vehicle and are planning on using with heavier bikes or ebikes, buy the longer ramp made by Thule to help with getting your bikes on the rack. It costs about $[XX] and won’t nest inside the rack like the shorter one. But if you have heavier bikes or have issues lifting your bike, it’s a must have. In my opinion, Thule should have designed it with the longer ramp to start with to accommodate standard size trucks and SUV’s but it is what it is. The mounting struts take a bit of getting used to in order to configure properly to fit your bikes. Make sure you aligned your pedals and frame so that the bike nearest the back of the vehicle doesn’t rub against the frame of the rack before locking the bike into place. Once you find the proper pedal alignment for your particular bike, everything clamps down nicely and is very sturdy. Overall, aside from the ramp issue adding another $[XX] to the cost of the rack, I’m pleased and it should last for years. The locks are a nice feature as well. Protects your rack and your bikes from theft.

We have 2 electric bikes, one of which weighs 66 lbs. so I was looking for a rack with ramps. This also has wheels to transport the rack from garage to car without having to carry it. Let me tell you, the wheels made this rack worth every penny.Lot of racks have ramps, this is the only one I found with wheels and they are a game changer. Once the wedge is tightened into the hitch there is no play/wobble at all.
