The product is good but a bit tideous and after installing it my bracket fell and it was a pain to get replace it support made me buy the replacement pieces and the bracket didnt come with just the bolts, and at the end they told i have i had to buy the whole unit because based on their system my truck didnt have issues with installement and the manufacturer didnt supply that bracket cause it special order so in general i dont recommend in my choice better to get it welded.

The welding splatter found its way to the hitch pin hole and it took me some time with a Dremel to clean it out so the hitch pin would slide in.

Each edge of the hitch receiver shipping carton was pierced by mounting brackets, but no damage fortunately. Consider adding another layer of cardboard padding?

I would give five stars but due to what looks like packaging problems the hitch came very marred and the coating chipping off.

Strong and seems to be well made and well finished. One-inch ball mounting hole. I used this for a Curt hitch mounted on a 2014 Forester and pulls a small Harbor Freight trailer. Perfect height and trailer is level. Warning - don't get their hitch pin, it does not have a hole for a cotter pin, only a weak clip that I would not trust.

I searched the internet to put a hitch on my 2016 Chevy Equinox and found an instructional video from eTrailer.com where they installed on my exact car. I decided to go with eTrailer.com because they answered all my questions and because of the video-I support businesses that go the extra mile with these videos. Shipping was quick and well tracked, however, the box was flimsy and the one end of the hitch had come out of the box side and the ball mount could have easily come out of that hole during shipping. If I were eTrailer.com I'd charge an extra couple of bucks for more sturdy boxes-people will still buy as eTrailer is a well-trusted brand and this would overcome a lot of the negative reviews you'll see on their site about this shipping issue in their own reviews :-) I installed the hitch by myself (definitely recommend help as two people holding it up to the frame makes attaching 100% easier) in about 45 minutes total (out of the box, read instructions, review video again and installation complete). All hardware went on with no issues. Great quality hitch! I also bought the lesser expensive wiring assembly because most recent equinox's come hitch ready with pre-wired assembly in the left side compartment-snap and done. Picked up a new trailer at Home Depot within days and drove 5 feet and the clacking was horrible. I had always had a welded hitch before buying a hitch that took a ball mount. I really thought something was wrong and when I searched the internet that night it turns out this is very common. However, all you need is some sort of hitch "silencing" device. The number of options will drive you mad but I went with the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch and it did the trick for much less than most of the other options. If I were eTrailer.com I'd have that as one of the RECOMMENDED add-ons and explanation why its super-worthy when customers are buying a hitch. Would have saved me the time and hassle of dealing with it later and the extra shipping charge for buying after the fact when I got free shipping for the other items the first time :-) All in all, I'm super, super happy with my hitch, wiring assembly, ball mount, ball mount locking pin and the hitch silencer. For a 7,500 lb hitch, I was surprised it didn’t have a wedge support welded on where the flat iron is welded to the square tube.

Just what I needed, most receivers would not allow me to open the tail gate on my 2022 dodge ram without hitting the trailers crank used to mount and dismount the car hauler trailer, this receiver give me the extra few inches I needed and it works perfectly, I tried many local sources but they all came up too short, etrailer is the place to go for all trailer parts, they seem to know and sell exactly what you may need

The Extra Long Ball Mount proved useful immediately upon receipt. This slightly longer than average bar was perfect for my application. The drop length was perfect also for the application. As usual, eTrailer's site and retail experience was first rate. Lots of info and specs (and videos) available makes it easier to get that piece of mind knowing that what you needed was what you ordered.

The hitch and ball mount are excellent quality. My concerns are twofold. The hitch is so heavy that I had to take it to my mechanic to have it installed. Minor cost and inconvenience, but the hitch for my previous F-150 was just as sturdy, but easy to install myself (albeit with higher ground clearance). My concern about the ball mount is that the factory told me erroneously that it could not be reversed for a drop, so I returned it. This order is for the replacement after I was finally correctly told it could be reversed and how to do that. Ball mount would have been a 3 for that reason, and overall hitch and ball mount quality a 5. So I averaged them.

I have two of these. My first I bought two years ago. I very highly recommend this Curt Class III Ballmount 2" Drop because of its price, durability and quality. I towed various class 3 loads with ease and confidence with this ballmount. It slides into the hitch and does its job without fail. It looks excellent after towing a load. etrailer's price is about as good as it gets and delivery is very speedy.

All I really needed was the ball mount/hitch. The whole package was a little pricey but I figured I could use the other stuff (locking pin, hitch cover, storage case) anyway so I bought the package. The locking pin key broke after a week and I had to drill the lock out to remove it. Then I saw I could have purchased what I needed at my local auto parts store for about 1/3 what I paid for this. Definitely what I should have done. No problems with the actual ball and hitch though.

Arrived today. Fast shipping, and thank you for that! Seems to be a quality ball mount. Just what I needed to get the ball lower to tow my trailer. With this, now the top of the ball is at 16" where it needs to be. Custom built receiver on my old moving box van. Just need to weld on safety chain slots and paint it. Can't drop the lift gate with the receiver in (its pinned on both sides), but hey....I can tow now.

Not that many non-adjustable option for a 12” drop and this one is the best! Love the cushion and it’s very strong. I put that to the test today when I got rear ended with it in the back of my truck. This thing saved the back of my Ram. Came right back to etrailer and ordered a new one!

This ball mount fit the SUV just right. I needed a 5 inch rise and the mount angled away from the bumper. However, the load capacity was way more than I needed, but the fit made up for that. It's a little loose in the receiver so I will be adding a stabalizer to lock it in place.

Its been a year and I aint broke it yet. I use this hitch to tow my 7Klb trailer. The trailer is tongue heavy and I needed something rugged to tow it with. Haven't had any troubles with this hitch.

This drawbar is totally awesome. It saved my trip. The original drawbar was too short for my trailer to clear the chrome accessory on the bottom of the rear of my 2005 goldwing. This product is expensive but well worth the purchase price. It has the perfect angle, length, and clearance Thanks a million!!!

Thank you etrailer for the quality products I received early last year. We needed a trailer hitch to install on our Subaru Forester for our move from Gig Harbor, WA to Spokane. I got this to Flat Tow my Jeep in the near future. I needed the 5" rise and now the tow bar is almost parallel to the ground. Although the etrailer.com site said this was an economy unit, I am very impressed with the look and feel of the unit. It handles up to 12,000lbs! Nothing economy about it except the very fair price!!! The pictures and video, along with the measurements helped ensure the fit would be perfect and it is! I got a 1" rise ball good for 6000lbs to make the tow bar perfectly parallel. Thanks etrailer I will always shop etrailer first when looking for this type of equipment.

I bought a new truck with twice the towing capacity of my SUV. I needed a 6" drop instead of my original 3" drop, so I bought one with a 12,000 capacity. Very nice.

Nice solid (not hollow) and WELDED hitch. Have logged about 5,000 miles this year with no problems. I had many problems with bolted on balls, welded hitches are the way to go.

Great Product! After installing a Curt (C11184) Hitch on my '08 BMW 135i convertible, I needed a drawbar and ball. I really liked the elegant design and one piece simplicity that this one has. It is very sturdy and the dimension measurements were accurate. The whole reason I got it was to trailer my new (old) wood boat home from the barn I found it in. Once the hitch was on and the (56146KIT) Wiring kit was installed. This drawbar slid right in. Thanks to the accurate measurements the trailer sat at the perfect height the first time.

The drawbar looks fine and as advertised. The first attempt to deliver resulted in an empty box showing up on my doorstep. The bar fell out in transit due to a rip in the box. Probably because the box gets tossed around during shipping. They pleasantly provided a replacement but it was packaged the same and I noticed TWO holes in this box that looked to be from the same sort of situation. Fortunately the bar didn't fall out this time. Anyway, you would think a trailer business would know how to pack up their products! ??

Let the packing/shipping department know they should've used a bigger box and packed it differently? Kinda disappointed as this isn't the first time stuff has been battle-scarred before I get it. Considering my next steps.

Sturdy and feels strong / heavy. Love it, except for the part when I forget it is behind the van and run into it :)) Not pleasant. Easy to install and the drop is just right for my trailer. Before I used to have to raise the tongue all the way to the top of the jack, now it feels like it is just there. The trailer seems to be well balanced now.

After balking at the cost to have an auto-shop add a trailer to our Toyota Highlander, we found etrailer.com and decided to take a chance. The "how to" videos factored considerably in our decision to buy ... they made it look so easy! And surprise! It really -WAS- that easy. We used standard block-type ramps (the kind you can buy for $40 ) to get the SUV up off the ground high enough to get underneath to do the work. Everything came off as easy as it was showed in the videos. Other than the fact this bar is a heavy so we had our teen daughter help hold it steady while we bolted it into place (i.e., get help for when you go to lift it), it went super smooth.
