We're first going to show you how we secure it in place. At our front and back tire we have wheel cradles. That's what's going to hold our bike tires in place and prevent those from moving.



Yakima StickUp 2 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Kia Sportage

Today on our 2013 Kia Sportage, we'll be test fitting the Yakima Stickup two bike, hitch mounted bike rack, part number Y02420. To begin our test fit, we'll slide that shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up the pin hole, and thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tightening it with a wrench. Now, we'll go over a few clearance measurements. We have about 11 inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the bike to the rear of our Sportage is about an inch and a half. We've added about 11 inches to the overall length of our Kia Sportage. We pull the red know at the base of the bike rack and allow it unfold. With the bike rack in this position, we have full access to our rear hatch. We'll pull the red know to raise up our center mast and we'll raise up our frame hooks and under a wheel strap. We'll grab our bike and place it onto our bike rack, securing it first with the frame hook.



Hollywood Racks Traveler 5 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Kia Sportage

Today, on our 2013 Kia Sportage, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler 5 bike rack, part number HR9200. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. We'll line up the pinholes, thread our anti-rattle bolt though the pinholes and tighten it with a wrench. With our Traveler secured to our Sportage, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the 2 fit together. We have about 10 1/2 inches of ground clearance at the rear of the bike rack. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the Sportage is about 9 inches away. With the cradle arms folded down, we've added about 13 1/2 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. We can now loosen up the black hand knobs on the upper left- and right-hand side of the bike rack to lift out the cradle arms. With the cradle arms out, we've added about 37 inches to the overall length of our Sportage. To access the cargo area, we can pull the black pin at the base of the bike rack and tilt the mast down.



Hollywood Racks Traveler Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Kia Sportage

Today, on our 2013 Kia Sportage, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler four bike rack, part number Hr8500. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. We'll line up the pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, and secure it with a wrench. With our Traveler secured to our Sportage, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 11 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about four inches away. With the cradle arms folded down, we've added about seven and a half inches to the overall length of our vehicle. We can now pull the black pin at the top of the mast to swing the cradle arms out.



Swagman Fork Down Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Kia Sportage

Today on our 2013 Kia Sportage, well be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down Roof-Mounted Bike Rack, part number S64710. We'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack onto the vehicle's crossbars. We will then bring out our hardware starting with the front well take the silver bracket to go in underside of the front crossbar and insert them into the pre-drilled holes at the front of the bike rack. We will then thread on our black wing nuts and repeat these steps for the other side.We will then move to the rear, where this time we will just slide the silver bracket down through the predrilled holes in the bike rack and bring the black plate up against the underside of the rear crossbar, again using the black wing nut to tighten it down. We will then make sure all of the wing mats are fully tightened down and were ready to load our bike. We will double check to make sure our skewer is loose at the front and will undo the strap.We will place our bike onto the bike rack, sliding the forks down onto the skewer.



Thule Apex 4 Swing Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Kia Sportage

RockyMounts TieRod Stretch Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Kia Sportage

Today on our 2013 Kia Sportage we'll be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Stretch Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number rky1011. We'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack onto the vehicle's crossbars. We'll loosen up the Allen bolts at the rear to bring the rear bracket on the underside of the rear crossbar.We'll then move to the front where we'll remove the black plastic cover and bring the rubber-coated steel straps around the underside of the front crossbar and hook them into the connection points. We'll then use the included Allen key to tighten down the silver bolt to bring the straps tightly up against the front bar.We'll then move to the rear to finish tightening down the Allen bolts for the rear bracket. Once everything is all tightened down and secured we're ready to load up our bike. We'll replace the black plastic cover at the front and double check to make sure our skewer is loose so our forks can slide down onto it.We'll undo the tray straps at the rear and place our bike onto the bike rack.
