Rhino-Rack Roof Mounted Steel Cargo Basket - 47" Long x 35" Wide - 165 lbs
The Rhino-Rack is a great roof rack! It was easy to install and is just the right size, not too bulky...not too small. Took it down the road and not a bit of wind noise could be heard. And, it looks great on the vehicle!
The picture only assembly instructions leave something to be desired. Just how to best fit the two halves together using the rubber sleeves would be helpful. (A good coating of silicon spray on the rubber helps. Grease the ends of the metal pieces). No instructions on how to use the rubber washers that are in the pack of bolts for the plastic faring. Just how to install the clamps to secure the rack to the roof would be helpful. After trial and error, I got it figured out. (The rubber piece that keeps falling out is installed so that it faces up towards the bottom of the roof cross bar). Another comment mentions the bars rusting where the two pieces join. The grease should help plus I wrapped the rubber sleeves with rubber electrical tape to keep water out. Over all, a solid looking rack. Haven’t installed it on the roof yet because the instructions say to not go through a car wash with the rack installed. I had hoped it would have been a permanent install. Taking it on and off again will be a real PITA.

Rhino-Rack Roof Mounted Steel Cargo Basket - 57" Long x 42" Wide - 165 lbs
I would like to first say awesome customer service. Very nice and kind. I ordered all the way from Alaska and it still arrived here quickly especially for shipping to Alaska. Pretty straight forward install. I haven't used it yet but I will be in about a month when I move down south and drive through Canada. Excited to see what it can hold. Thanks again for the awesome cargo rack.

Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket - 41-1/2" Long x 37" Wide x 4" Deep - 150 lbs
Expand what you can haul, by putting some of the bulky items on the roof. Leaves more space inside your vehicle. My wife and I hauled our canoe on our curt roof rack and had plenty of room for coolers inside. Great product at a great price. So good, I had to buy a second one for my Jeep Grand Cherokee.
This basket has rusted almost all the way through the tubing at the joint in the middle where the bolt goes through. Highly dissapointed

20x59 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - Folding - 500 lbs
I recently ordered this item from etrailer.com and had no trouble at all deciding and ordering the 24x60 Curt Cargo carrier model C18153. After browsing through the options, I decided on this one for several reasons. One being weight capacity. The 500lb capacity is more than enough for anything I would ever need. Two, the diminsions were exactly what I wanted. I wanted one that was wide and deep and this one is one of the larger carriers offered. Third, I want a folding/hinging style. I drive a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and didn't want this sticking out so far all the time. I wanted the option of being able to fold it up for easier parking. When folded, this carrier on my Jeep will fit in any parking space fine without sticking out. This carrier has plenty distance between the bumper and actual carrier so if you need to access the back of your vehicle, you are able to walk/stand in between the carrier and vehicle. Quality should be no concern. This think is rock solid. Unless you are really strong or dont mind hurting yourself, you need two people to help load and unload this thing. It is all metal with very large diameter bolts. I used it for the first time on a trip this past weekend and it was flawless. I did not hear rattling, nor did I sense something was attached to my vehicle. That is almost a negative as you have to remember its even back there so you dont back into something. Overall, I feel like this is money well spent and I have no regrets. This is a top quality carrier that should last a long time. I also bought the etrailer.com Extra Large Cargo Bag 20 cubic feet model 988501 to go with this. I have not used the bag yet but it feels very thick and strong. I got the bag for a few reasons, one being rain and weather, two being road dirt and grime, third being privacy. This bag will keep the water out, dirt off, and also keep people from just walking by and seeing what you have on your carrier. No it wont keep thefts away but it will keep them from seeing what you got which is what I want. I hope this review helps.
You guys/gals are the best!! First of all amazing prices! Second, it was delivered when it said it was going be delivered. Third awesome customer service! I was putting it together and I over tighten one of the small bolts and broke in half. I emailed them to see how I can get an extra one. 10 minutes later Becky calls me and tells me that it's on it's way at no charge. I would give this overall experience 6 stars if possible. Once again, Thanks Becky for the quick follow up.

Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket - 64-1/2" Long x 39" Wide x 7-1/4" Tall - 150 lbs
got it and put it together took a little thinking and all done . now waiting for my travel date to install it on my Jeep Grand Cherokee for moving need the extra room
I love the rack and the extended length is great on my Sequoia. I am disappointed with the finish on it as the connector plates are already showing signs of rust….. I like it enough that I’m going to repaint it with something more suited to our climate…

19x60 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Aluminum - Folding - 500 lbs

Great product once assembly is complete. Very light weight. I can easily lift the entire carrier with one arm. I'm not sure how it will hold 500lbs though because it feel so light...but Curt says it does so I will give it a try in a few weeks. The carrier wobbles just a little bit in the receiver but not enough to cause any concern or disappointment with the overall product. Two negatives though: 1. Assembly was easy but the instructions were completely crappy. If your not able to read a picture or have trouble following vague directions you may take a little longer to get this thing put together. 2. I can not fold the carrier all the way up. It hits my bumper. I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and need about 1/4 inch more clearance to get the carrier up and in the locked position. I will have to buy an extender to use this feature. As with other stuff from etrailer, it came fast. There werent any holes in the box (unlike my trailer hitch) and the product was in great shape. Good customer service and the carrier got here a day earlier than scheduled.

23x59 Stromberg Carlson Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
Great product, this is my second one. I use it for hauling deer during archery season and it fits them well. Unfortunately this package arrived open and the bag holding all the nuts and bolts was open and all the hardware was rolling around loose in the box. Maybe I ended up with a package that someone else returned? I haven't put it together yet, but hoping everything I need is still there.
Easy to assemble and install. Put it on a 2014 jeep grand Cherokee, installed two bikes and had room for bags too. Important lesson, passenger rear is where the tail pipe is, anything in that corner could melt. Lost a strap and had to throw away a carryon bag. I will be installing a small shield or deflector on the rack to eliminate this from happening again. Having the exterior cargo space was very useful and well worth the purchase.

Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carrier for 2" Hitches - With Ramp - 77" Long - 500 lbs
I used this rack to pick up a new dirt bike (~250 lbs dry weight) that was 4 hour drive from my house. I used a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and the bike loaded very easily when idled up onto the rack in 1st gear while walking beside it. Tons of clearance between the bike and the rear of the vehicle so no concerns there. The tie-down points work really well and the bike seemed very stable. I added a tensioning device to keep the rack from wobbling in the receiver, which I would recommend. Overall, I'm very satisfied, especially considering the great price on this rack. To provide a complete review, I will point out some things that I think could be improved: (1) Since the main tray is divided into two sections, it sags into a sort of frown shape after the bike is on for some time. This is due to the slop in the mounting holes where the support straps attach. This could be done better. (2) At least when the rack is empty, the ramp sort of clatters around in it's mount because there is quite a bit of play. I just threw the ramp inside my vehicle as it is pretty small.
I can't say I'm entirely happy with my purchase. The instructions were more confusing than helpful. Note in "instruction.jpg" photo of STEP 1 that the text says to put the 8 small bolts in from the inside first, but the drawing clearly shows them as going in from the outside. The last step says to place the ramp onto the receiver as shown.... glad I didn't throw away the box because there is no drawing that shows ramp installation. Actually, the photo on the box was more helpful than any of the instructions. Also, I need to make a trip to the hardware store to buy longer medium bolts because the ones that came with the carrier were not long enough to fully engage the self locking feature of the nylon lock nuts. At a minimum a couple of threads should protrude beyond the nylon. See photo "nut.jpg". The bolt threads don't reach the end of the nylon, so the self locking feature is not fully engaged. I did tighten the nut, but that was as far as it would go. I think once I get back from the hardware store with the new medium bolts and after I reverse the 8 small bolts (I followed the drawing and not the text of the instructions), I'll be OK with the carrier.

Thule Pulse Large Rooftop Cargo Box - 16 cu ft - Matte Black
This thing is awesome!!! Perfect size for our Grand Cherokee. Easy to install, super secure, and a ton of space!!
Purchased for our 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee and after multiple uses we have no regrets. The price was good; the Thule Cargo box is surprisingly light, I was able to lift it over my head onto our Jeep fairly easy. The box does only open on one side and given the height of our Jeep, that was an issue when we mounted the box center line on the Jeep. We've since started mounting the cargo box on the right side, so using a step I can easily reach any cargo inside. The two straps for securing cargo are useless and we ditched them for Bihlwerflex bungee straps. Much easier to install and use. The clamps that secure the cargo box to the rails are great, makes the mount/secure process a breeze. I do a walk around and check everything whenever we stop and the clamps have always been secure.

Thule Canyon XT Roof Cargo Basket - Steel - 49" x 40" x 6" - 150 lbs
The Thule Canyon XT Roof Cargo Basket was a great addition to our Jeep Grand Cherokee. Works great with a rooftop bag to haul additional gear on long trips.
I bought this rack because of the look of it. I liked the lines, and the tapered walls. It looks great on my grand Cherokee. It is easy to take on and off once you learn how. Kat from e-trailer helped out a lot, letting me know the status until it arrived. GREAT customer service, and awesome product. Thanks Kat, and thanks e-trailer!!!

17x46 Curt Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
The product assembled with no issues and the bolts lined up with the pre-drilled holes fairly well. I tried it on our RV travel trailer (1 & 1/4 inch hitch) and it is very tight. However, on a 2 inch Jeep Grand Cherokee hitch it wobbles appreciably. The wiggle at the hitch is about 1/8 inch and at the end of the carrier a full inch. I suspect it will do better with a sleeve insert in the 2 inch hitch that adapts a 1 & 1/4 carrier but I have not tried that yet. The adapter that comes with the stinger to adapt to 2 inches is plastic does cover the whole length and that is probably why it wobbles.
Works as advertised. I wish it was a true 2" tho. The adapter is kind of flimsy and the basket wobbles.

Yakima OffGrid Roof Cargo Basket - Steel - 44" Long x 40" Wide - 165 lbs
The Yakima OffGrid medium rack arrived yesterday at about 10:30 a.m. It was fully unpacked/assembled/installed by about 11:45. etrailer did a fine job of communicating/pricing/delivering and supporting this good product. I've been using Yakima products (and others) for biking, paddling, fishing etc. for about 45 years. This rack is a serious solution to a variety of uses of a roof rack. I will be able to use it on various vehicles and for a number of applications (sports, chores, travel etc.) It has more flexibility than most racks and I can't imagine a more durable, quality design. My particular needs, being in my "Dotage", are met by the ability to remove the cross bars and fairing for an open platform, or keep them on and custom fit to a spare tire, or bike rack, kayak rack etc. The attaching mechanisms drew my attention. I put this on the car with solo and with caution using a protective mat. It is very manageable and easy to fit. These mechanisms for tightening down on the crossbars bring the added value (and cost) to folks like me that don't want to spend a lot of time and effort installing a rooftop rack. I wanted secure, solid attachment with simplicity. The OffGrid delivers! No pain killers needed after the install! This "Medium" OffGrid is more than adequate for my initial uses. The internal and external dimensions are pretty much ideal for this 2017 Sienna. A full size spare tire will fit just right. A nice fit for a canoe as well. I admit to scouring the internet and considering dozens of products from baskets to platforms and this OffGrid showed a lot of promise. Its versatility and ruggedness competes with the best designs at about half the price of many. My thoughts included the extension bracket, but the medium OffGrid really does meet most of my expectations and needs for various applications. Now, to the matter of noise. There is wind noise. However, for me, it simply blends into the symphony of white noise that comes with highway travel (and the ringing in my ears) :)......Of all the racks, bikes, canoes, kayaks ladders, lumber, etc., etc. that I have carried on car tops, the wind sounds of this carrier are negligible. The fairing is a nice, well thought out feature that works well. So, my five star rating is for both the product and the vendor. Once again "eTrailer" has proven themselves to be one of the best sources of such products nationwide. Their product information efforts are an industry leader and they deserve credit for providing extremely helpful product reviews and explanations. That's what got me to choose them on this purchase. Those of us well into our "Dotage" appreciate learning all we can!

Rhino-Rack Zenith MasterFit Rooftop Cargo Box - 14 cu ft - High Gloss Black
This was a great experience from start to finish. etrailer: After placing the order, I called regarding shipping and quickly got the answer to my question. The box shipped by ground freight, and arrived almost a week before the original scheduled delivery date. The Rhino arrived perfect with protective wrap, and all the required parts. Rhino Rack: This thing is awesome. Unless you jump up into the $1000+ price point, your rooftop carrier options are limited. My two requirements were to fit my skis (181 & 183 cm) and to allow my tailgate to open fully. The Rhino delivered! Bonus that both baby strollers fit as well (Instep baby trailer and Vista Uppababy). Only a week in, but so far the Rhino box and MasterFit clamps seem solid. The ratchet/locking mechanism on the clamps is just ok, you don't have to twist too hard to over power the lock or feel like you are stripping something internally. The hinges are beefy, but don't take up a ton of storage space. It opens from both sides, and you can't remove the key unless it's locked, which is nice for those of us that don't enjoy picking up our stuff on the highway. Also, if you're like me and spent way too much time on mr-box.com, you'll be pleased to know that this thing doesn't look lame. It's pretty sleek, somewhat low profile, with a touch of Euro. It's not too wide, even on the narrow rails of the A4 Allroad there's extra bar space. I could probably squeeze an upright kayak rack, small ski pinchers, or for the ten of us in the world that own RoadShowers...the RoadShower 4 fits no problem. I definitely recommend a Rhino from etrailer.
Application = 2021 Subaru WRX Base. Perfectly functional, and a great look.

Today, on our 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we've got out the Curt 20 by 60 Folding Cargo Carrier here. This particular carrier has that medium size expanded steel cargo floor, that platform floor. That allows dirt and debris and stuff like that to fall through, but it's still going to give us plenty of area to rest our items and our goods on.
Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee C18150
Today on our 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we've got out the Curt 20 by 60 cargo carrier and we're test fitting it. Now this cargo carrier is designed to carry up to 500 pounds and for use with 2 inch hitches. Part number on it is C18150. Now the carrier is going to have the kind of you'd consider kind of the medium size expanded steel, it's going to give us good surface area for items to rest on but any moisture, dirt, and debris should fall right down and out of there. We'll also going to have a raised edge that goes all the way around the outside and it's about 5 1/2 inches tall and once our gear is in there, it's going to keep it from moving around too much front to back or side to side. It also gives us some good connection points around here for our straps and we've got a few reflectors back here on each side just to help with visibility. Now the Curt has a rise in the shank that lends to really good ground clearance here in the back.

Now well take a look at the exhaust on the vehicle and see how it interacts with the cargo carrier.

Now, well start off our test fit by installing the bike rack into the hitch and then inserting the hitch pin and clip. Curt Folding Aluminum Cargo Carrier Review - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Alright, today on this 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee we're going to do a test fit of part number C18100 from Curt. This is Curt's Folding Aluminum Cargo Carrier. A few notes about this cargo carrier is that it is designed for 2-inch receiver hitches only, it has a weight capacity of 500 lbs, and the dimensions on the cargo carrier are 20 x 60. And we'll start off our test fit by installing the cargo carrier into the hitch and then we'll go ahead and install the hitch pin and clip. Right off the bat on our test fit we notice the cargo carrier sits really close to the vehicle's hatch when it's installed in a stored position. So when driving down the road we probably do not want to drive it like that.
