Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at this OptiMATE7 select smart battery charger. Now this is an AC to DC charger that will plug right into your standard 120 volt wall outlet. And that will automatically charge test and maintain your 12 volt battery. This will work with a variety of lead acid battery types including your flooded, AGM, gel, enhanced flooded and deep cycle batteries from three to 400 amp hours.
This does have an amp matic charge that's going to determine your battery size and adjust the charging current to suit your battery. It's got a maximum charging amperage of 10 amps. So it's going to be perfect for charging your car truck, a motorcycle, tractor, RV, boat basically any other 12 volt lead acid battery. This does have a nine step charging algorithm that analyzes your battery condition and then automatically charges and maintains without overcharging. It's got a low voltage detection rating of half a volt.
It does have a built-in battery desulfator to help restore your lost battery capacity. It will automatically test and indicate if there is a battery problem It's very simple to use with the led lights here that indicate your charging status and if there is a problem. It does adjust the voltage based on temperature. So it can work in temperatures as low as negative 40 degrees fahrenheit. And if it does turn off it has an auto memory feature that remembers the last selection so that it can power right back on and jump back into the same settings.
This power supply mode provides consistent power for your vehicle tuning diagnostics and troubleshooting. So really nice option there. Overall, lots of great features to make sure that your batteries are going to be well taken care of. This case is nice and durable. It does have these wall mounts already established.
So you can just put a couple of nails or screws through there. Get this mounted on your wall. The cable here that plugs into your 120 volt wall outlet this is six feet long so it gives you a little bit of adjustability there as to how far away from your outlet you're going to mount this. And then, this cable that reaches out to your battery is also six feet long. It's got the SAE connectors here. And then you've got two different ways of connecting to your battery. So you've got your clamps which are going to provide a nice quick easy way to connect to your positive and negative posts on your battery. This is more of a temporary option. And you just simply connect the SAE connectors there get it connected to your battery. Or you've got these islets here that are more of a permanent installation. So, if you're wanting to just use this for basically one application you can permanently install these on your battery posts and then this will attach to your vehicle. It's got this waterproof seal and cap help keep out any dirty water when you're not connected to power. And then, so you can be out enjoying your SUV, or your tractor or whatever it is that you're using this for. And then when you pull it back into the garage you can simply just flip that cap make that one connection and then it can start charging up again. Rather than having to make that connection and then attach it to your battery. So, just a little bit more convenient for you. It does have the 15 amp fuse to help protect your electronics from any potential short circuits. So, overall, really nice option here to help charge up your 12 volt lead acid batteries. We do have lots of other options available as well. So, if you're looking for a charger for multiple batteries simultaneously we have lots of different options available for you here at etrailer.com. So, this is a great option if you're just looking to charge up one battery but we do have other options if you have multiple batteries to charge. So, that's going to complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..
I love that it charges 6V in addition to 12V batteries, both at three different voltage levels depending on the type of battery. It is definitely better-built than a modern Schumacher that you can buy in auto stores. It is made in China, but designed in Japan. It begins every charge cycle with a desulfating cycle. It supposedly also measures ambient temperature and factors that into the charge. It does not apply power to the two prongs when you plug it into the wall, which means you can accidentally let the two leads touch and nothing happens (this is a very good thing). The thing stays on 24/7/365 until it achieves success. I left it on a low, probably dead, 6V battery for 3 days and it was still pumping 10a into it in vain. OptiMate is the best; I use their chargers for wintering my motorcycles too. One negative: when you take it out of the box, the instructions seem very daunting. They clearly designed this to be sold worldwide. It's easy to operate once you use it a couple times.
Just what I order, thank you so much.
Works great! Thanks for the fast shipping also!
