Roadmaster Tow Bar Base Plate - 909-9

  • Roadmaster
  • Removable Draw Bars
  • Hitch Pin Attachment
  • Partially Hidden

The crossbar-style hidden brackets attach to your vehicle's frame to provide attachment points for your tow bar. The visible portions of the brackets can be removed when you are not towing.

Features:

  • Hidden bracket design - drawbars are easily removable via 2 pins
    • Improved aesthetics compared with standard brackets
  • Computer-cut, all-steel construction provides exceptional strength
  • Black powder coat finish is durable and corrosion resistant
  • Simple installation - no welding required
    • Custom base plates ensure a perfect fit for your vehicle
  • Compatible with Roadmaster tow bars with use of quick-disconnect crossbar (910021-00 - sold separately)
  • Instructions and mounting hardware included
  • Made in the USA
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty

The square drawbars, or front arms, on the crossbar-style base plate kit are simple to mount and remove, easily securing with hitch pins. Once the drawbars have been removed, the remaining brackets are virtually invisible. On most automobiles, the brackets are mounted within the grille, where they remain not only unseen, but protected from scrapes and scuffs as well.

  • Adapter Needed To Go From Roadmaster Crossbar Style Baseplate To Direct Connect Style Tow Bar
From the picture you have provided it looks like you already have the Quick Disconnect Crossbar Assembly for Roadmaster Tow Bars # 910021-00 so you should be good to connect to the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit # 909-9. I don't see the mounting hardware or safety plates so if you need replacements you can get them with part # RM-222. I've attached a couple videos below to help guide you through the installation process.

  • Adapter Needed To Connect A Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar To Blue Ox Baseplates
To connect a Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520 to a Blue Ox baseplate, like the # BX3605 which is a confirmed fit for your Forester, you would need the Roadmaster Tow Bar to Blue Ox Brackets Adapter # RM-031. This would replace the connectors on the arms allowing you to mount the tow bar to the baseplate. There is the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit # 909-9, which is confirmed to fit your Forester, but you'd still need an adapter like the Quick Disconnect Crossbar Assembly...

  • Recommended Flat Towing Set-up For 2002 Subaru Forester
For your 2002 Subaru Forester, I recommend starting with the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms, # 909-9. You may want the RoadMaster Black Receiver Inserts for XL and MXBrackets # RM-200-5, for when you don't have the tow bar installed. For a tow bar, I recommend the Roadmaster StowMaster Tow Bar - Car Mount - 2" Ball - 6,000 lbs, # RM-501. I also suggest the Roadmaster 64" Single Hook, Straight Safety Cables - 8,000 lbs, # RM-645. For your tow bar lighting, I recommend...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 1999 Subaru Forester without a Brushguard
There is a steel crossmember in the base plate kit # 909-9. It is listed in the instructions I will sent to you as part A. These base plates are custom designed to fit a 1999 Subaru Forester with no brushguard. Consult your owners manual for the proper towing procedures for your Forester. In my research I found that the models with a manual transmission can be flat towed without modification to the vehicle but automatic transmission models must be towed on a trailer only. If you determine...

  • Base Plates, Wiring, and Safety Cables to Flat Tow a 2001 Subaru Forester
For your 2001 Subaru Forester, you will need to use base plate # 909-9 since your Forester does not have a brush guard. This base plate is the XL style. This means that you can use your Falcon Tow Bar, like # RM-520 or # RM-522. You may also be interested in the Roadmaster Quick Disconnect Tow Bar Base Assembly, # 910021-00, for your Falcon tow bar. This assembly will allow you to connect the tow bar to the above base plates. In addition to base plates and a tow bar, there are a few other...
