To remove, simply twist the arms back and pull them out. Once the drawbars have been removed, the remaining brackets are virtually invisible. On most automobiles, the brackets are mounted within the grille, where they remain not only unseen, but protected from scrapes and scuffs as well.

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2007 Honda Fit
We have base plate kits for your 2007 Honda Fit like the Roadmaster part # 521558-1 which is a confirmed fit but none that will work with a Towmatic tow bar. We have tow bars and other components that would work well though. In addition to the base plates, you will also need a compatible tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking to flat tow your vehicle. The most popular compatible tow bar is the Falcon 2, # RM-520. For safety cables you can use # RM-643. The coiled design...

  • Can a 2007 Honda Fit Sport with Manual Transmission be Flat Towed
Yes, your 2007 Honda Fit Sport with a manual transmission can be flat towed behind an RV. You'd need to start with a base plate kit like the part # 521558-1 which is a confirmed fit. In addition to the base plates, you will also need a compatible tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking to flat tow your vehicle. The most popular compatible tow bar is the Falcon 2, # RM-520. For safety cables you can use # RM-643. The coiled design helps keep the cables off of the ground. For...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2008 Honda Fit Behind a Motor Home
I found an online copy of the 2008 Honda Fit owners manual and on page 173 it states that the vehicle can be towed behind a motor home up to 65 miles per hour. It then lists the procedures for automatic and manual transmissions in the pages after that. Confirm this with your owners manual. There are at least 5 items you will need to flat tow your Fit: base plates, tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking. The base plates provide a proper and safe attachment point on the...

  • Can I Tow a 2007 Honda Fit with Automatic Transmission Behind my RV
Officially, Honda states that the Honda Fit should not be flat towed, however, it is possible and there are many people that flat tow their Honda Fits. According to our flat towing authority, Remco Towing, to flat tow your Honda Fit, you will want to follow the emergency towing instructions found in the owners manual. Honda lists specific procedures and restrictions, so it is important to follow those if you choose to tow your Fit. Keep in mind, if any damage were to occur due to flat towing,...

  • Recommended Solution for Vehicle Mounted Tow Bar Compatible with Roadmaster EZ Base Plates
I may have a solution for you, but the Curt Tow Bar with Adjustable-Width Arms - Car Mount - 2" Ball - 5,000 lbs # C19745 cannot be stored on the vehicle and there's not an available solution that would allow it to function in the manner you're seeking. If you wanted a tow bar that is stowed on the vehicle, the Roadmaster StowMaster Tow Bar - Car Mount # RM-501 (2" hitch ball) or # RM-504 (2-5/16" hitch ball) would be the best solution. It looks like you've also got Roadmaster EZ base...

  • Base Plates and Accessories for 2008 Honda Fit Sport
According to my contact at Roadmaster, the # 521558 base plate kit will indeed fit all models of the 2008 Honda Fit, including the Sport model. In my research, I found that the Fit is capable of being flat towed without modification, but you will want to consult the owners manual and follow the recommendations listed under the Recreational Towing section. You will also need a tow bar, safety cables, a lighting solution and a supplemental braking system to flat tow your Fit. The Roadmaster...

  • Recommended Supplemental Braking System For Use With Multiple Tow Vehicles
The best supplemental braking system for your situation is the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR which is a portable braking system. The Patriot sits in the floor board of the 2007 Honda Fit and depresses the brake pedal when the motor home stops. It is compatible with power assist brakes so if you decide to switch to a hybrid tow vehicle in the future the Patriot will be compatible. However, I have checked the owner's manual for the 2007 Honda Fit and it looks like Honda does not recommend flat...

  • What Type of Crossbar Does Roadmaster Base Plate Kit part # 521558-1 Need to be Used With
The Roadmaster base plate kit part # 521558-1 is designed to be used with a Roadmaster tow bar that has a crossbar. But you don't have to order the crossbars separately. The correct crossbar that you'd need would come with the tow bar. So you'd just need to order a tow bar that has a crossbar like the Roadmaster Falcon 2 part # RM-520 and you'd be set.

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2007 Honda Fit Behind a Motor Home with an Aventa Tow Bar
In order to determine if your 2007 Honda Fit can be flat towed behind a motor home you will want to consult the vehicle owners manual. Since you have an automatic transmission you will need to use base plates # 521558-1. Blue Ox does not have a base plate kit for the automatic transmission models. You can still use your Aventa tow bar by using adapter # BX88178. If you need safety cables, use # RM-643. For a lighting solution I recommend kit # 154-792-118158. Most states now require...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2007 Honda Fit Behind a Motor Home
To install Roadmaster base plates # 521558-1, trimming of spoiler, air dam, grille or plastic fascia may be required on some models of the 2007 Honda Fit. On the frame, at most there will be some drilling required. The 521557-1 kit that mentioned is designed to fit the Civic, not the Fit. In addition to the base plates you will also need a tow bar. The most popular tow bar option for the EZ style base plates is the Falcon 2, # RM-520. You will also need safety cables like # RM-643. You...
