The Roadmaster base plate kit part # 521558-1 is designed to be used with a Roadmaster tow bar that has a crossbar. But you don't have to order the crossbars separately. The correct crossbar that you'd need would come with the tow bar. So you'd just need to order a tow bar that has a crossbar like the Roadmaster Falcon 2 part # RM-520 and you'd be set.
