This base plate kit delivers the sturdy connection you want when towing. Once installed, it provides dependable attachment points for your tow bar, ready for thousands of reliable miles.
If you like a neat front end when you’re not hooked up, this setup keeps things tidy. There’s no crossbar support beam or large protruding brackets—only the fixed tabs are visible. Each pull point can be covered with high-density polyethylene tab covers that snap into place to keep dirt and debris out while also protecting your shins if you walk by.
Everything needed for installation is included in the kit, from mounting hardware to clear instructions. It’s a straightforward bolt-on job that doesn’t require any welding. The base plates bolt securely to the vehicle’s chassis, and an integrated electrical bracket makes it easy to mount a round electrical connector plug so your wiring stays organized.
If you already have a tow bar, this kit is ready to work with it. It’s compatible with all Demco tow bars, and adapters are available if you’re using a tow bar from another manufacturer. Options include DM9523014, DM9523015, DM9523023, DM9523036, or DM9523062 depending on your tow bar model. The tabs have a 3/4" gap and a 1/2" hole for precise fitment.
Designed for stable connection geometry, the distance between brackets is 22-1/2" center-to-center, and bracket height is 16-3/4". These measurements help ensure even force distribution across the frame so your setup stays solid mile after mile.

Hi Don. Per Demco, the # DM9518010 is a fit for the 1998 Jeep Cherokee, unless it has the front skid plate removed or if it's equipped with the up-country suspension or Tow hook pkg.
