Question:
What lock would you recommend for the spare tire that comes with this MicroSport trailer? I would prefer to avoid using a padlock that may rust over time.

In order to secure your Spare Tire for Malone MicroSport Trailer - 12" Galvanized - Locking Attachment # MPG465 I recommend using the BOLT Trailer Coupler Lock - 1/2" to 3-3/8" Span - Codes to Ford Key # BL7025285. This will work on a spare tire carrier with as small as a 1/2" wide span, so it will work well with the U-bolt style spare tire mount and the best part is that it keys to your Ford vehicle key so you don't have to worry about fumbling through a bunch of different keys.
If you'd like to key this lock to a different vehicle, I've linked the other available BOLT coupler locks for you to look through and choose the vehicle manufacturer you would like to use. I've also linked a short review video of this lock for you.
