Video Transcript for Brand Spotlight with Shocker Hitch

Hey there, neighbors. It's Kevin with etrailer. And today we have Jim in from Shocker Hitch, and he's gonna be telling us a bit more about their tow vehicle side of their components here. And looks like we've got a lot of ball mounts in front of us. How can we start breaking this down so that our neighbors know exactly which one is gonna be the right fit for them So if you want something that's in traditional hard point towing, Shocker Hitch, although we're known for air also makes, you know, standard shanks with amounts that receive all of our attachments in just a typical straight draw bar. These and the Impact series are very nice and versatile and more price point-friendly.

And one fun little thing about these is that we can reverse them for extra rise and drop if wanted or needed, where you can't do that with an airbag necessarily, right Yeah. So hard point towing in the XR series. And then we move to the Impact series, where we're gonna introduce one of the fundamental parts of our technology, which is shock absorption around an impact cushion. And this pivot point, again, that we see in the other products, where these come free grease from the factory. So just a shot of grease a year or so is more than enough unless you're under constant use.

And this is really where most of the industry is centered around impact absorption, shock absorption, smoother ride. We have products like that too. And we like to think we deliver a lot of performance for the dollar here, competitively priced in and equal or better performance or something. In the Impact series, we can get up to a 20,000 pound frame in either one. And then in this one I can do with a raised ball, as you see on the end there, I can go up to a five inch rise or down to a seven and a half inch drop depending on whether I turn this either way.

And I don't lose any of that 20,000 pound weight rating if I'm doing so. So a lot of versatility in that point. Now we're gonna introduce air. And nothing on the planet rides like an air ride wheel or airbag wheel. And airbags have been in the industry for over 70 years.

Shocker Hitch has been using them for over 20 years. And this is the kind of the core of our offering in the bumper tow category, where we take the same idea with that impact cushion technology, a pivot point and introduce an airbag as a secret upgrade. These things are also very, very quiet when they're in the receiver. So as is true with all of our products, when I take this out of the package, I wanna let some of the air out of the bag 'cause we we ship it with some in there. Slide it in my receiver, load my trailer, put it on, and then and only then am I gonna add my air adjustment. This one in this case is gonna be a visual adjustment. So as my trailer is loaded then the ball is gonna drop, and I'm gonna have a little gap here between these two frames. So on the vehicle side bump cushion, this is what I'm watching as I put air in the Schrader valve, which is for these frames to come together. And this vehicle side bump cushion to touch or just be ever so slightly compressed. That's my setting. And that's my setting, whether I have 250, 500, or 1500 pounds of tongue weight, I'm always going to that visual guide to dial it in for the perfect ride every time. Super simple. And that the point, you brought it up in the class yesterday too, where this is gonna get pinched inside of that receiver tube and prevent that rattling you've been talking about. Correct. That's something I didn't even know up until you told us yesterday. Extremely quiet when they're in use. And on my truck I actually have a onboard compressor behind the license plate and I keep air in the hitch. It doesn't make any noise as I go down the road even when it's not in use. Yeah, so saving you money there, 'cause you're not having to buy some anti-rattle device too on top of it. This is the 14,000 pound frame in red or black. In this case, black. This is the 20,000 pound frame in red or black. In this case, red. And we do two, two and a half, and three inch shanks on the 20K I think as well. And then a variety of attachments that go across the platform. So all of our channels are three and three quarter inches wide. Any of the attachments that you buy, most of what we see is gonna be a two ball set up in either black or chrome. Kevin Yeah. We have a couple other products, we're not showing all of them here but this is the Trail Force. The Trail Force is a 14,000 pound. It's designed to fit in the half ton platforms that are SUVs where the receiver comes out of the middle of the bumper. Yeah. And you can't introduce air otherwise. So your Tahoes, your. Expedition Yeah. Wagoneer. Where it's way wedged up in there and you don't have that extra clearance. So yeah, that does make a lot more sense. And so we see that half ton platform specifically, because this hitch would need 19 inches of clearance between here and the ground in order to work on a different vehicle. If we have a neighbor who has a family that has a truck with at least 19 inches clearance here with a two inch shank and a 14,000 pound weight rating, they could use that truck or that SUV then. It gives them some versatility to tow with either vehicle if they have both. Okay. Kind of neat. And this is our 8,000 pound Sport. So we always encourage people to think about the vehicle they have and what it's capable of towing, and now what they are towing today. So if you have a three quarter ton, we're probably gonna try and steer you to a 20,000 pound, but the 8,000 pound Sport is a nice option because you save a couple dollars by moving down in weight rating for this frame. I know we don't have every single product out here 'cause we just don't obviously have space on the table for everything, but what would you say is your most popular options You know, what are the neighbors at home really wanting to see Where we see most of the sales is right here in either a 14,000 pound or a 20,000 pound frame with a two ball set up. Right, so in either chrome or black. And the two and two and five 16ths. There's lots of options available but this is where the bulk of that business is. Okay. I would expect to kinda see a lot of it, obviously the ball, but this sounds like it's a great option for more that pintle hook style, 'cause you got a lot of those heavy, heavy duty trailers, and those guys really need to add that air in there and make it more comfortable ride quality, so. Correct. Yeah, we hope to have some solution regardless of the circumstance, and if they're in a place where air is not available, we can still do a 20,000 pound frame on impact cushioning as well. I guess I'd throw in that this is also not only a nice option where you can't introduce air otherwise, but we see this in a work truck technical setup. We see it on a farm. We see it for some of the smaller sized SUVs. Things like that where you otherwise couldn't introduce air as well. Okay, what about for lifted trucks That's a hot topic here at etrailer. We get a lot of lifted vehicles in for airbags usually and they need a giant drop when it comes to the ball mount. So the one that we don't have, or two that we don't have with us, one of those is the Super Drop that we call. We can go up to 20,000 pound there. But that truck needs to have at least 22 inches of clearance between the bottom of the receiver and the ground for that Super Drop to work well for them. Here in these frames, with a drop ball mount opposite of the raised obviously, if you put a drop ball mount in one of these frames, these two frames, you're gonna get eight inches of drop. So the Super Drop will take you where you want to go, but please help make sure that our neighbors have 22 inches of clearance between the bottom of the receiver in the ground for that solution. And then the aluminum frame, which is a aluminum-welded frame, and that knocks about 15 pounds off the weight of this. So if that's a factor for someone, we want to have that available usability thing to go from about 50, 52 pounds, to about 35 pounds. If that's the difference for that. Just a little bit easier. Yes, it's easier to handle, and if that's the difference for someone to get to safer, smoother towing, then we want to have that option available. Although, as a caveat, I would throw out there that that aluminum frame takes us to 10,000 pounds of gross towing weight. Okay. Well it sounds like you guys have an option for anyone out there. So if you are looking to add air into your ride so that way you have that safer, smoother towing, then definitely out some of Shocker Hitches components here. Definitely feel free to reach out to us though as well with any questions you might have with these components. And if you're looking to get any of this installed and maybe you just want somebody to help kind of walk you through it, even though it is a ball mount, people can still mess up just putting in that ball mount and airing it up correctly. So if that's the case for you, definitely feel free to use our installer locator and you can enter in your zip code to find a shop near you and get these professionally installed. So with all that being said, I wanna thank you for your time, Jim. Thank you, Kevin. We really appreciate all your help and helping out our neighbors here at home.
