Features to know about

Tows Big Without Weighing You Down

This hitch doesn't mess around. With a 14,000 lb rating on the 2-5/16" ball and 10,000 lbs on the 2", it handles most big trailer jobs with ease. And because it's made from lightweight aluminum with stainless steel balls, you get the strength without the bulk. Fewer rust issues. Easier to handle. Built to pull hard and stay looking sharp.

Simple Drop or Rise That Just Works

This version gives you 4" of drop or rise, which fits most mid-size trucks and SUVs. No overkill. No setup headaches. Just the right height to keep your trailer level and your rig stable.

Swaps Fast When You're Switching Trailers

Flip the stainless-steel ball platform and you're ready to switch trailers. Secure pins keep it locked in, and the adjustment holes are clean and tight. No slop. No extra hardware. Just set it and go.

Aluminum That Actually Holds Up

Forget flaky paint or corrosion creeping in. The aluminum shank resists rust, and the stainless balls don't rust out or gum up no matter how nasty the road gets. Even the pins are stainless, so you're not hunting replacements after one salty winter.

Video Transcript for BulletProof Aluminum Hitch and Stainless Steel Dual Ball Test Fit - 2020 Ford F-150

Hey everyone, I'm Evangeline right here at etrailer. Today we have a BulletProof Hitches Aluminum Ball Mount, and we're gonna take a look at how it fits here on our 2020 Ford F-150. If you're looking for a more lightweight and good looking ball mount, that also has pretty decent weight capacity, this is a really good option. Now this ball mount is available in a couple of different rise and drop sizes, but what we have here today is, in my opinion, one of the better fits for this truck. And we're gonna go through in this video why I think so. But first, what type of trailer are you towing Because chances are this ball mount will be able to tow it.

You have a two inch hitch ball, as well as a two and 5/16 hitch ball. So usually your heavier travel trailers have that larger coupler size, and you then have the 14,000 towing weight capacity with this ball mount. Or you might have these smaller coupler size. With the two inch hitch ball you have an up to 10,000 pound weight capacity. Now both of them have a up to 2000 pound tongue weight capacity.

Which means you have decent weight capacity for pulling, but also if you have things loaded up towards the tongue, you have a lot of weight that you can carry there too. And for your different trailers that need some different height ranges depending on their design, because you want a more even towing experience. Well, you can adjust up to four inches drop or four inches rise. Simply a matter of taking these pins out, putting the clip right back in. Now with the lowest drop, let's go take some measurements to see what you're working with.

So it's important to know your receiver height, as well as your coupler height, to make sure you have things lined up for where your ball mount goes. Now, BulletProof Hitches, they measure receiver height at the bottom part of the tube, and that measures at 17 and a half inches. I personally measure at the top inside corner of the tube, but you can always just refer to our website, which explains what is the recommended height per ball mount. So with that height there, you then compare it over to the trailer and then that helps you level things out. Now with that, the bottom ball does go down a bit where you want to be mindful of pothole and speed bumps, things like that.

So that's nine inches off the ground, which isn't that bad. Chances are you are gonna have good ground clearance. Now there is another feature here in D drop position that I do appreciate and you might too. And that is you actually can stow your ball mounts with the shank in the drop position. So getting the ball mount, turning it over, you can put this right there and you still have the clearance to secure with both pins. This is pretty impressive, 'cause then you can have it in this position when you're just driving around town, you're not planning on towing just yet, and you're less likely to bump into the ball mount. If you measure from the hitch pin to the end of that mount, that's gonna be five and a half inches, which is very sleek and takes up less space. This shank is aluminum. The ball mount though, that's what's made of stainless steel. So you have a really good variety here of heavy weight capacity while easy to maneuver. Some people just completely take off the ball mount base and secure that in their vehicle. Or you can just take out the whole thing if you want to. This part here, very lightweight, what's not included is going to be the hitch pin that secures your ball mount to your hitch. So, you can find one of those here at etrailer, if you don't yet to have one. Turning this over to the rise position. Now with this in mind, one of the reasons I said that I prefer the four inch rise version from BulletProof Hitches is because, this is probably the highest that you can go and still have tailgate clearance. That's right. If you want to open, I guess lower your tailgate, while you have a ball mount loaded, you can with this specific ball mount. Lowering the tailgate all the way down. Phew, that's close, but it does clear. Now with a two and 5/16 ball, you're gonna have millimeters of space between the ball mount and your emblem. With the two inch ball, you're gonna have a little bit more clearance. Once you get into your truck bed or start loading things up, your tailgate may come down a little bit where it may potentially make contact with that larger hitch ball. But still, this is a a good sign to see. For other ball mounts that do have a higher rise, you always have to be mindful of it, of moving the ball mount, taking off the ball mount whenever you have to lower your tailgate. But with this, it is a fit. All in all, I do think this is a really good fit here on our F-150. Now everyone's truck is a little different. So, hopefully this video was helpful for just giving you a good baseline of how this will fit on your truck. If I measure from the center of the hitch pin to the end of the ball mount, this sits right at around 11 and a half inches. And that's something to be mindful of, you can adjust this ball mount a little bit. Check out my full demo here if you wanna take a look at all the different for your truck, if you like this design. I personally am a huge fan of the BulletProof Hitches aluminum ball mounts. And yes, it is a little confusing, 'cause the shank is aluminum, but the hitch balls are seamless steel. But I think it all works together well and it looks great. So if you're looking for a good option for towing that allows you to tow different types of trailers, well this is a great way to start. And if your journey doesn't end there but you're looking for other things, whether it's things to help you out with towing or to deck out your truck, well let us know here at etrailer. We'd love to join you on that journey. But today this was a look at our BulletProof Hitches Dual Ball Aluminum Ball Mount for two inch hitch receivers here on our 2024 F-150.
