Hi, I'm Danny with etrailer, and today we're gonna take a look at the Westin Tailgate Cover. These tailgate covers are thick rubber, and they're gonna protect the bare metal from anything you slide in and out of here. Now, if you're somebody who's gonna be sitting on this or standing on this, this is also gonna be a nice service for that. It's not gonna be slippery like this bare metal is. So, with that on there, you can take anything and it'll protect your tailgate from getting all scratched up. It's a lot easier to replace this piece of rubber than to repaint your tailgate.

And actually, if you're gonna plan on reselling this in the future, this is a really good investment. Now, another thing is if you have long lumber where you have to tie this down, it's maybe sticking out your tailgate, this is also gonna create more friction, so it's not gonna roll around or move on you. Now, if you're a contractor and you're gonna be using your truck for work and you're gonna have a lot of heavy tools in here, maybe possibly jostlin' around, so if you have those hitting the back of this, it's a lot less likely to dent the metal 'cause you have that cushion. Taking a closer look at this mat, it does have a 1/8-inch rubber thickness here, and it does have contour hardware, so nothing's going to snag on that.
