Hey guys, how's it going Clayton here at etrailer.com. Today I'll be showing you how to install a PTC Air Filter on our 2014 Ford Escape.Your air filters should be changed routinely. This is going to make your AC unit run a lot easier. It's also going to help the air inside the vehicle. So the air quality is going to be much better for you and your passengers.So this is our old filter. As you can see, there's a lot of dirt and debris in these pleats.
This is going to restrict the air flow to your engine, making your engine work much harder. So here on our new filter, you can see this is a pleated filter. This filter is going to catch any debris coming through your airbox, going into your engine. This is going to help your engine run run much cleaner.So not only are the pleats going to be fresh on our new filter, but the silicone lining is also going to be fresh. What the silicone lining does, instead of pulling air from the outside, it's going to restrict air to come through the filter, so no particles will make their way into your engine.To start our installation, there's four 8mm bolts around our airbox that we're going to undo.
So there's out last bolt, it doesn't come all the way out, so once it's loose, you can lift up on your airbox and it'll come out all together. So when you pull out your airbox, you can flip it over. Our filter drops in to the box.As you can see, this one is dirty and needs to be replaced. If I open one of these pleats, you can see all those particles in there. This is going to put a lot of unnecessary pressure on your air system and not make your air in the cabin as clean.
Also, when the filter is this dirty, it's going to grab some of these particles and it's actually going to shoot it through your air system. So it's not only going to be better for you, but also your passengers to change these out.I like to change mine every couple of oil changes. Usually I do the cabin filter at the same time, just a good routine maintenance thing. Keeps your air clean, everybody's happy. So our new filter is going to have in embossed paper pleats.
These are going to hold up well over time and filter your air very well.So to install a new filter, as you can see, our air tube comes out here to the airbox. We're going to slide this filter in and push it onto that tube, you'll hear the click. So we'll put our cover back on. You'll feel it pop into place, then you install your hardware. Installing your last bolt can be kind of tricky because it's hard to get our hands down there. You can take a little piece of paper towel, put it into your socket, stick the head of your bolt in there, and it'll hold that bolt upright, so you don't have to worry about it falling into your engine compartment.So with all of our hardware tightened down, we're ready to hit the road. Was wrong filter too big and too thick

Website led me to believe that this would work for my vehicle. That was not the case. CS said I could return it but I would have to pay for shipping costs, and sadly it would cost me more in shipping to return it than the item costed. Double check that this is the right one for your vehicle before purchasing as the website may not accurately direct you to the correct one, as it did for me.
Everything was shipped the day I ordered it. Filters fit like they should. The BW hitch fits great, is heavy duty and will probably be the last one I buy. Great job!

Shipping was extremely fast and of course customer service is absolutely top notch! The filter itself has almost the same color as a Fram filter and the filter material doesn’t look like anything special. It looks like a standard filter though when I start driving it around that will be the true test.
